You say this is NOT bad? |
semid:LOL!!! ![]() Football is NOT mathematics and neither is it exactly politics. The best man should always have the job. It's an appointment and not an election. So bros, your argument does not hold water. I'm not in line with the idea of getting a "foreign" coach but heck, we need a sound and tactically aware handler. Bite me but I don't think Amodu is. Who in Nigeria now can do this job? If we can find a good Nigerian coach then I'm ALL for it. Sia1 could have secured this position easily but he perforated his CV (U-20 2009). Remember a coach is as good as his last game. |
Disastrous start for Sand Eagles Nigeria's Super Sand Eagles made a disastrous start to their Beach Soccer World Cup campaign, losing 11-5 to Brazil on the competition's opening day. It did not look like it was going to finish that way when Isiaka Olawale stunned the South Americans by scoring after just 47 seconds. Brazil did not take long to brush the impetuousness aside, as Sidney levelled the scores six second later, and Bueno edged them in front. Buru then missed a double chance, only to see Nigeria find parity with Victor Tale. Benjamin restored order for Brazil and then the multiple world champions opened daylight with goals from Andre and Daniel to make it 5-2 at the end of the first period. The second period was all Brazil, with Bruno adding a sixth and Sidney making it seven after Daniel and Souza had both stuck the woodwork. Four more goals, including a brace for Bruno to complete his hattrick and one each for Daniel and Betinho in the third period put the game truly beyond sight for the Nigerians. Tale, Olawale and Ikechukwu Ibenegbu found goals for Nigeria as the game wound down, but there was to be no fightback and Brazil claimed the win. Nigeria will now look to other group D rivals Switzerland and Bahrain for hopes of progress. The Swiss won their opening game against Bahrain and are second. Nigeria play Switzerland in the second game of the group, after Brazil play Bahrain. Colin Udoh http://www.kickoff.com/static/news/article.php?id=12280 |
@buffhead, Thanks for starting this thread but next time try to provide more information. Remember a lot of people depend on NL for information especially when it comes to Nigerian Sports. ![]() Could you provide us with the table, fixtures etc? Thanks. |

Terim, Hiddink in Nigeria frame Former Turkey coach Fatih Terim is 'open' to the idea of coming in as Technical Adviser for the Nigeria national team,as the country looks for support for current coach Shuaibu Amodu. Other names under consideration are Russia coach Guus Hiddink and Republic of Ireland coach Giovanni Trappatoni. The last two are contingent on their respective countries failing to secure a spot in South Africa after the conclusion of the UEFA qualifying playoffs this Wednesday. The Super Eagles qualified for the 2010 World Cup on Saturday, but Head Coach Amodu, who has a two and half year contract, has not enjoyed the support of the local media or the fans, and has been under fire for most of the qualifying campaign. The situation led to the Nigerian government setting up a Presidential task Force to help deliver the World Cup ticket. With that in the bag, KickOffNigeria.com understands that the Nigerian Football Federation have now been given a directive 'from above' to ensure that a 'Technical Adviser' is in place by December at the very latest. Sources close to Terim have told KickOffNigeria.com that the former AC Milan, Galatasaray and Fiorentina coach, is not only interested in the job, but has been suggested to the top hierarchy of Nigerian sports. Terim boasts of an impressive CV in European football. The only black mark in his managerial career being his five-month stint at AC Milan. In 1996, he qualified Turkey for the European championships for the first time in the country's history. Following Euro 96, where Turkey failed to win any game, he joined Galatasaray, and led them to four consecutive league titles, two Turkish Cup titles and the UEFA Cup in 2000. With Fiorentina, he reached the Final of the Coppa Italia, eliminating AC Milan in the process and in his unhappy stint at Milan, he won the TIM Cup. He returned to the Turkey job in 2005 and qualified them again for the Euros, this time, reaching the semifinal of Euro 2008. But he was forced to resign when Turkey failed to even make it to the playoffs of the 2010 World Cup qualifier, finishing third, 15 points behind group winners Spain and 4 points behind second-place Bosnia and Herzegovina. BRAVO Sgt Todd. You are a true American Hero. But why falsify the facts in the first place? Why did the woman keep quiet? She could have corrected the story immediately. Sshh. . .How the authorities came to issue the original version of the story, which made Sergeant Munley a national hero for several days and obscured Sergeant Todd’s role, remains unclear. (Military officials also said for several hours after the shooting that Major Hasan had been killed; he survived.) http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/13/us/13hood.html?_r=2 I also want to know. Shameful! |

Mydex:This is very funny. First off- I stole nothing from you and boy you created only one thread which I locked and I explained to you why. Secondly, none of your posts were deleted as you are claiming. Thirdly ,concerning Kenya vs Nigeria match ,did you not see where I apologized immediately and how could this be for personal advantage abi dem tell you say I get paid for doing this? I saw your message yesterday and said sorry. This was posted yesterday and you are here busy calling names! As much as I understand that you are very angry, pls, abeg, stop the name calling. ok? See below: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-351257.32.html#msg4918213 FBS: @Mydex, no need to throw insults ok?Everyone here can tell you that the threads I create (including this one you are posting on) are very informative and it has nothing to do with me personally. I stand to gain nothing by locking and deleting threads. I had to do what I had to do. I don't think anyone else apart from you complained of thread locking etc. Now that I have explained to you, hope you will stop calling names for no reason. Take am easy. Once again, sorry if you feel offended. Believe me, I never meant it. We are all here to have fun. |
Thank You Dear Lord for this day! |
Beamer:Thanks. You are the man. |
in me:How can you be happy for something you prayed against? ![]() Stop contradicting yourself man. youngbest:Thats exactly my point. We need no gold diggers.
NFF will be very STUPID to keep Amodu as the manager of our National Team. The only thing i can bear is to let him stay till January and gauge his performance in the Nations Cup. If he wins that competition, let him take em to South Africa but if he fails, he should be sent directly to Alagbon.
NFF=STUPIDITY. ![]() Not only do we need a gem of a coach who is tactical sound, most of the players in the team should be dropped as they average if not below. . . .Save Osaze, Martins, Mikel, Enyaema & Kanu (The man has a huge tank of experience). |
It's a world cup year. Many of these European managers know jobs are abound in Africa. I cannot see Amodu outfoxing Capello, Hiddink or Dunga in South Africa with his moronic tactics and technical nous. NFA/NFF need to act fast and get a manager as early as next month to start working on the team. With good preparation and the right mentality, we can at least be like Senegal in Japan/Korea 2002.
NFA/NFF don't have the balls to fire Amodu 'cos they have to find a reason and except they go radical, we may be stuck with Shaibu. Under normal circumstances, one would expect the coach that got them through the qualification to take them to the WC but kai with Amodu, we will get thunked. In and OUT! Guus Hiddink is the man for the job if russia fail to progress. |
mike oscar:abi oo! For a non drinker, wetin man go do. Ok let me switch to REDBULL! ![]() in me:hahaha. . .oya say sorry to the SE of Nigeria! ![]()
FBS, letz be honest with ourselves. Amodu lacks tactical nous to take us to the world cup. Trust me, there are many brilliant managers jobless in Europe as we speak. Juande Ramos, Felipe Scolari, Avram Grant, Louis van Gaal and a host of others will be dying to take the job from NFA. If we get the right manager, we should be OKAY.
Sauron, I completely agree with you that Amodu ain't no "good" coach and I think I said this earlier. The problem is Juande Ramos gets fired faster than anything. Felipe Scolari? ![]() LvG may be on his way out of naziMunchen! So you see, yes we need a very good coach with his mind on the job and not just to make money. Someone with Nigeria in his heart! If only we could get Jose M. He has Africa in his blood. ![]() Question is WHO? And more importantly, the core of our team should be home based. |
Ibime:The dude is playing right now for his bleeding motherland! ![]() |
chidichris:Chidichris, take am easy. No insult folks, ok? Check my post, I mentioned his name several times and also commented that he played his best match for the SE today. He was brilliant . He started 2 of the 3 goals. Read carefully bros. |
youngbest:Youngbest, I also agree with you 100% but from the look of things, none of the TOP coaches/managers are available. Heck, we don't want another Berti Vogts! ![]() MustardInc:No worries dude. It's all good. ![]() We must celebrate today today! ![]() |
@MustardInc, Pls, biko, eh, stop posting with such BIG BIG fonts. Abeg, no vex bros. Thanks. |
