mukina2:Muki, of course I understand the ass-anal thang but for goodness sake, that was a blatant HANDBALL, PALMING or whatever you may call. He redirected the ball to his path. And no it won't be forgotten just like [s]you did not forget the incident with puyol in 2006[/s]. ![]() I have nothing against TH14 and can understand the-ball-to-hand or hand-to-ball shitzo but blimey, he did it TWICE!!! He wasn't the first one and he won't be that last but ain't no excuse. Ireland was robbed last night. Period.! FIFA, UEFA sites are yet to report this. Shameful!!! FIFA infact went back on their words not to seed the play-offs but they did. What does that tell you? Now, I'm waiting to read Platini's comment on this. |

Slovenia kicked them out. ![]() @Borat, why is russia your second team ? If not for Guus, them no suppose reach this stage sef even though now I think even some russians think otherwise. A manager they say is as good as his last match. Heck, I love footie. ![]() |
Gone are the days of ass-licking. Amodu, Hiddink, GT or whoever gets the nod should do a VERY GOOD job. Nigerians are no fools. They can recognise success and passion when they see one at least when it comes to footie. If Amodu gets to the QF of SA2010, believe me, he will get a job FOR LIFE with the SE. Hiddink or any other foreigner on the other hand will be SACKED!!! FACT! |
No not all. Bravo ObaGOAL! |
@topic: I would have thought Nigeria should be No1 on your list. |
Didier Drogba to Build A Hospital in the Ivory Coast In a remarkable show of charity, ferocious Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has pledged a £3million donation to build a hospital. Drogba is handing over the fee he will receive for becoming the new face of Pepsi. Chelsea, his employers, should have been entitled to a cut from his sponsorship fee as a result of an image rights clause in Drogba’s contract. Sources close to the remarkable deal also claim there will be a further generous donation by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich in a personal show of support for Drogba. Billionaire owner Roman Abramovich may even have offered to match the donation pound for pound. The project in the Ivory Coast, Drogba’s homeland, will shock those who consider Drogba the unacceptable face of the Barclays Premier League because of his aggressive demeanor, diving antics and foul-mouthed rant in the Champions League last season that saw him banned for three games by UEFA. There is, however, another side to the prolific centre forward. He launched the Didier Drogba Foundation two years ago, bought land in his hometown of Abidjan and committed to raise funds to build a hospital with the aim of opening the facility by the end of 2010. He set up the Foundation after a close friend, Stefan, died from leukaemia and the project gained momentum after 19 fans died and 132 people were injured when a wall collapsed in Abidjan’s Felix Houphouet-Boigny stadium before a World Cup qualifier between Ivory Coast and Malawi in March. The first aim of the Foundation is ‘to build and fund a hospital giving people basic healthcare and a chance just to stay alive’. Later this month, the Didier Drogba Foundation Charity Ball will take place at London’s Dorchester Hotel and has already sold out. Drogba, 31, will be the latest in a long line of global stars from the worlds of sport, music and entertainment to represent the soft drinks giant Pepsi. David Beckham, 34, ended his 10-year association with Pepsi in December last year. Brazilians Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry, Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas and Drogba’s Chelsea team-mate Frank Lampard have also featured in Pepsi television commercials. For some, Drogba may seem an odd choice to follow in Beckham’s footsteps, but Drogba’s charity work and role with the United Nations sets him apart from other candidates. The striker was the first Ivorian to be crowned African Footballer of the Year in 2006. Let us be some of the first people to say “bravo! to Didier” Well done. http://soccer-xtreme..com/2009/11/didier-drogba-to-build-hospital-in.html BRAVO DD! OUTSTANDING!!! |
Outstanding!!! |
I wouldn't want to be Irish last night. What a very painful way to get "knocked" out? To be honest, I don't know what I would have done if I were in TH14's shoes but why use your hand in the first place? The ball did not HIT his arm, he PALMED it wella. . .twice then made the pass to Gallas who scored from a point blank range! https://www.picamatic.com/show/2009/11/19/10/17/5986076_bigthumb.jpg Even in Volleyball a single player cannot "hand" the ball twice. In basketball, na travelling. . . Ireland played with some spirit and wow, what a match it was. You always had that feeling that something either heart breaking or controversial was about to happen. Will FIFA introduce "technology" into footie? Ask Sepp Blatter. Will UEFA do same? Ask Platini. In fact I'm waiting to read his response to last nights match. |
I want to praise you forever more Dear Lord! |
@Borat, Now you see that Hiddink is very much available? ![]() In fact ALL the managers on the poll are available. By the way, Guus is leading in the polls! ![]() |

We won’t sack Amodu - Lulu NFF President Sani Lulu insists that it would be an 'injustice' to fire Super Eagles coach Shuiabu Amodu, after he qualified Nigeria for the 2010 World Cup. Nigeria's route to qualification was littered with disappointment when they went behind on the opening day, elation when they held Tunisia at Rades, massive shock followed by resignation when they were held by the North Africans in the reverse fixture in Abuja and heart-stopping anxiety when they played their final game in Nairobi on the last day. It is a situation that hs been blamed on Amodu perceived lack of technical competence, despite his finishing the entire 12-game qualifying series unbeaten, winning nine and drawing three games. Only the Ivory Coast has a similar record. But the long knives have been out for the coach, and his tempestuous relationship with the media have done nothing to help his cause. But Lulu, his boss, says Amodu will stay. "Sack who! Shuaibu Amodu? Only one condition can make me to tell Shaibu Amodu to step aside for the South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup; if Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United accepts to take charge of the Super Eagles," Lulu told The Nation, a national newspaper. And he made it clear that even under those circumstances; Amodu would remain part of the set-up. "Even at that I cannot sack him. I can only tell him to work with him. Would that not be an injustice to tell a man not to reap from his labour." Lulu has had opposition from his board members in the past, and asked what he would do if the majority wanted Amodu out, Lulu said the board had a conscience. "I know my board is a responsible board and we have conscience. If the majority thinks otherwise I would not say no but I will advise them appropriately." He added that the next step would be for the coach to submit his program for the Nations Cup. "The main focus now is the Nations Cup in Angola early next year. The coach should be able to come up with his program for the African soccer fiesta and the federation will support him the way we stood by him during the World Cup qualifying matches." honeric01:namely? |
honeric01:Well I never said he was but he did pretty well in that role against France. Perhaps we can develop on that? But true sha, sometimes he brings the game to a halt while looking for options. Stanley Okoro? Maybe as a supporting striker, not an all out CM/AM! Energy no go reach and besides, he sometimes play a very selfish game. Certainly, there are players who will fit in perfectly and get the job done but that is Amodu's job, not mine. He should get his ass up and do the job he is paid to do. One of the qualms I think most folks have with him is his inability to discover any/new players ( pls feel free to correct me on this). He relies entirely on European based players. Too bad IMO. |
Button joins Hamilton at McLaren Jenson Button has signed to drive alongside Lewis Hamilton in an all-English line-up at McLaren next season, BBC Sport has learned. The world champion's move will be announced later on Wednesday. The confirmation follows news that former world champion Kimi Raikkonen will not race in F1 next year. The move leaves McLaren with one of the most exciting driver line-ups in F1 and Button facing arguably the toughest challenge of his career. Button's former team Brawn, who have been taken over by Mercedes, made Button an offer, but the 29-year-old did not consider it acceptable. His switch means McLaren will be fielding the last two world champions in the same team, Hamilton having won the drivers' title in 2008. Button's preference for McLaren is not solely to do with money, according to sources. He also believes it is the best option for his career. After a poor start to the 2009 season, McLaren came back strongly in the second half of the year, while Brawn, after dominating the first third of the season, slipped back in competitiveness as the year went on. Button's manager Richard Goddard was unavailable for comment. Brawn emerged from the ashes of the former Honda team, after the Japanese company pulled out of F1 last winter. Button took a pay cut last winter to help secure the team's future and they went on to win the world championship together in Brawn's debut season. Now renamed Mercedes Grand Prix, the team have already signed the German Nico Rosberg as one of their drivers. His fellow German Nick Heidfeld is the favourite for the second seat. honeric01:You know he is a punana and you are recommending him? ![]() Maybe Rabiu but me thinks he still needs to develop and reach that "stage" One of the Uche brothers (Kalu I think) did pretty well in that position IMO in our match against France . And I can say that , that was our BEST performance till date. I've not watched the local league for years so I, cannot say precisely who can fill in the boots of JJ. But heck, there should be someone out there. PS: Perhaps we can turn Osaze to a CM? The bobo has the fire burning in him to do well. |
