Career › Re: IT Professionals' Salary In Nigeria? by FBS: 1:19pm On Aug 15, 2008
@poster

Like most people have mentioned: it depends on how good you are, where you intend to work ( the paying capacity of the company, your job functions etc). but then you should also be ready for any thing. Things may not go as planned and this has nothing to do with the country per say.

I am an IT professional but left Nigeria because I wasnt getting the necessary experience needed (the pay wasn't that bad because I worked in 2 banks,  one of which, is a top Nigerian bank, but you could say its by far smaller to what I get now!).

As for me, job satisfaction comes first and that also come with the pay package. As of today and tomorrow, I Thank the Most High and will always do.

TPS360:
Abkhazia and South Ossetia. used to be a part of russia. As a matter of fact, russians live in these regions and they also carry russian passport. What was the georgian president thinking? Why did he send troops to secure a known russian territory.

Abkhazians and south ossetians don't believe they are part of georgia. They associate with russia , did I mention that these folks carry russian passports.?

aMERICA WOuldnt dare attack Russia,
In what book did  you read that Abkhazia and South Ossetia used to be part of Russia? did you forget that even Georgia was part of USSR? Then it wasn't just russia, it was the Soviet Union and the stupid illogical borders drawn by Joe Stalin.
And please don't tell me that the ethnic people of Abkhazia and South Ossetia associate with russia. Do you know what russians do to anyone non slavic people or you are just reading newspaper and you think you know what is going on? we are the people on the ground here and can very much tell you more.

About them having russian passports, these was distributed to them since early 1990's for  the same reason we are facing today.

And you talking about US invading Afganistan, did you know russia actually invaded them first? russia is one of the main reason there is acute instability there?

and when Chechnya wanted to break away,( which by the way was never part of russia) what these bloody russians did? they completed erased grozny the capital city!

russians live everywhere and they seem to think that they can always impose their own man as president, ask the president of Ukraine and he will tell you how and why he was poisioned by the same russia.

If you ever lived in russia or georgia or any of these countries we talking about then you may understand what is going on.

russia is a bully, and a brainless one for that matter.

are you not reading the new?
which news? CNN or NTA or RTR?
I'm telling you that no one can say what and who started it. Innocent people just suffered for nothing. Russia is a bully.
Russia knew this would happen even before anyone thought of it. They evacuated many kids and women days before the madness started. Now you tell me, who started it?
Foreign Affairs › Re: Russia Invades Georgia - Guardian UK by FBS: 6:34am On Aug 13, 2008
Russia is nothing but a bully and given that Ossetia is not a part of it. Kosovo wanted to leave Serbia, russia said no, and they are there helping ossetia, does anyone really think they care about the Ethnic Ossetins?

russia knew this would happen and they are only happy to blow Georgia into pieces.

Agreed Sakashvili went too far but no one has actually proved, who started the madness of this war.

For all there is to it, russia has no friends, including its neighbouring countries. Even Ukraine is against the delibrate actions of russia and besides, Russians are using the same propanganda they use to erase Chechnya. Has anyone here ever been to Grozny? russia is only happy to flex its muscles in all parts of the former soviet union, Ukraine, Belarus and the host of them, !

You shouldn't become a bully even if you are  that strong. The most annoying thing is that only the innocents suffer most. All these little knuckle heads aspiring "Napeleons" should be sent to the gulag!

Cole's call-up for Nigeria set to be blocked

Nigeria coach Shaibu Amodu appears to have made a blunder by calling up Carlton Cole to a 20-man squad to take on South Africa early next month, with the striker deemed ineligible to play for the Super Eagles.

The West Ham forward, who was born in Croydon, was a regular member of England's Under-21 squad earlier in his career and turned down previous call-ups to the Nigeria squad, saying instead he wanted to play for his homeland.

Under FIFA guidelines, players who represent one country at junior level are allowed to switch to another country provided they are still under the age of 21.

With Cole, who has a Nigerian father and Sierra Leonean mother, due to turn 25 in November, playing for Nigeria is out of the question.

PA Sport's attempts to reach the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for comment on the matter proved fruitless.

Earlier today, NFF spokesman Ademola Olajire said Cole's inclusion in the squad was part of plans to experiment with different options ahead of the final World Cup qualifying phase.

He told www.kickoffnigeria.com: 'By and large, the list underscores Nigeria's desire to try new options against the backdrop of the Super Eagles having already picked a ticket for the third and final phase of qualifying, which begins in March 2009.'

The other new player named by Amodu is Italy-based defender Ola Daniel from AC Cesena, while the coach has selected nine England-based players in his latest list, including Cole.

However, there was no place for Hapoel Tel Aviv goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama and Getafe forward Ike Uche, both of whom were not allowed by their clubs to go to the Olympics with Nigeria's Under-23 squad.

Amodu has already guided his team into the final round of 2010 World Cup and African Nations Cup qualifying after they became the first side through with four wins from their opening Group Four matches.

The Super Eagles play World Cup hosts South Africa in Port Elizabeth on September 6 before facing Sierra Leone on October 11.

Nigeria squad: Ayenugba (Bnei Yehuda), Etafia (Moroka Swallows); Yobo (Everton), Shittu (Watford), Odiah (CSKA Moscow), Mohammed (Al Hilal), Ola (Cesena), Nwaneri (FC Sion), Taiwo (Marseille); Olofinjana (Stoke City), Uche (Almeria), Mikel (Chelsea), Haruna (Monaco), Ayila (Dynamo Kiev); Okoduwa (Dynamo Kiev), Utaka (Portsmouth), Cole (West Ham), Martins (Newcastle), Yakubu (Everton), Kanu (Portsmouth).
Could this be true?

I seem to be missing something here. Where these Nigerian deported or physically attacked/killed?

How does this relate to the Ghana must go saga? Or indeed the Nigeria must go which proceeded it?

How does deporting people relate to burning people alive and beating them to death? It has nothing whatsoever to do with eachother, its just a case of the usual Nigerian attitude of late to justify every negative thing metted out to Nigerians, simply because of how they themselves dislike Nigeria/ns.

How about the Somalis and Zimbabweans who were killed? Was this "just desserts" too?

If next week, we hear of South African businesses being burned in Nigeria, which one of these people will be saying, after all they did it to us? None of them thats who.

My heart goes out to every individual who has either lost life, possession or family from this absolute tragedy.
The poor in South Africa have erupted into xenophobia and frustration simply because their own government has failed them. Foreigners (well at least the black ones) have been made scape goats.

SA earned the title of one of the most violent places in the world without help from immigrants, they are fooling themselves if they think the real issues don't lie with their own populace.
well and timely said londoner,

this is exactly what I'm trying to tell to kobojk, that deporting people is one thing, killing and hactching is completely different and it is barbaric. No excuses can be accepted.

his equating influx of immigrants to the high rate of robbery, crimes etc in SA in my opionion is grossly wrong.

people have been immigrating long before we were born and they will continue to, such is our nature.
