FBS, i don't think u are as interested in this competition as i am the last game i couldnt sleep every min i was checking my phone browser for live scores. its very painful bcuz i looked forward to the competition a whole lot. thailand 2004 was on tv, russia 2006, then why now, when d girls are doing well. how can i watch it on net when u know the kind of servers we hav in naija ee day pain me dye
luvhenry, don't be harsh on me please. If I am not interested in the tournament and the performance of our girls, why did I start this thread? that said, I will do all I can to constantly update this thread when the matches are up. Every 10 mins. Will that be ok?

I know say some naija servers no gbadun, and I feel you man.

That was one helluva free kick! I pray we don't crash out like their counterparts did some weeks ago. All we just need is a draw to qualify. Here, England had 52% and Nigeria 48%
@ fbs you be statistician? Na who get tournament? You or fifa?
Mustay, I don't have to be a statistician and who cares about fifa? I do my own stats the way like, you have issues with that?
but the free kick was something else and are we sure that ball is standard? grin the way these girls are taking corner kicks and the ball flying directly into the post, huh

Hope the girls do us proud.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Women Fifa Under-20 by FBS(op): 12:02am On Nov 23, 2008
Goal to Nigeria,
Lovely free kick, England keeper crashes it into the up-post, rebounds into the path of a Nigerian player who smashes the ball but its blocked by a defender but it rebounds again to the Nigerian player who again smashes into the left corner,

NIG 1- ENG 1,

Match ended 1 a piece. Both team had decent chances.

The Nigerian team has more work to do, especially composure in front of goal.

Keeper made up for the first half own-goal in the second half. Fine and world class saves and I feel the folks at the stadium were supporting the Falconets. GO GIRLS!!! DO US PROUD!!!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Women Fifa Under-20 by FBS(op): 11:08pm On Nov 22, 2008
Entertaining first half (at least according to the commentator because I missed it).

Bad bad goal keeping by the Nigerian No 1.
goal to England 45' + 1
NIG 0- 1 ENG

Fbs, There's always this disagreement over shots on target and shots off target. Some of what you call chances are not regarded as "shots on targets" by Fifa.
I don't care what fifa says.

I don't know what you have against those two (texxa and Holyyeye). But I guess we are adults. lets try to approach matters with some level of maturity here. I'm not here for a fight. I appreciate my two brothers Damola and FBS. They ve demonstrated this in their post. The fact that we defer in opinion does not make us enemies. If US had not enshrued this they would not be where they are today. I come with an olive branch.
mucho respecto! grin

very funny what some people post.

Pay tax before complaning.

Ok I, pay tax. Can I now complain?

Adexy001:
Damola abi wetin you call yourself? Abeg go back to school and stop displaying your ignorance. As Kumbalo said in his post, The place was not only shut down for tax issues, it was also for environmental issues, this i am sure is so true because u and I know how that place is. Even houses are locked because of environmental issues now and for your information, they would have been duly notified and also given deadlines which they would have ignored.

Why would we all be stressing ourselves trying to convince you sef, u no dey pay tax(as u be student), u no dey watch tv or listen to radio, so what do u do? Just display your good use of English(not brains) on nairaland. I wonder what kind of leader you will grow to be.  Baba Adeboye spoke on tax, Oba Akiolu spoke on tax, even on radio sef enough jingles, ki lo tun fe ki won se?

Those of us that pay our tax would keep supporting BRF because we can see he is using our money well.

Adexy001, that is not the best way to correct someone IF he is wrong. No one knows it all.
Besides, no one has said for a fact if they were notified earlier. You and like every other person here in support are just assuming.
The environmental issue is not the topic or is it?

farochron:
I now see that you truly don't live in Nigeria and if you do, definitely not in Lagos. Because if you do you will see what Fasola has done in Lagos. I can't start counting them. There is no one here in Lagos that would tell me he does not know about tax payment. If you tell me the penalty meted out to those people was too stiff like Damola pointed out it's ok. But we need to realise that here in Nigeria we try to evade all things. And why not give the governor some time before you start concluding he will do this or that with the money. After all we ve seen what he's done in some sectors.
farochron, will he be the first to collect taxes? are most employees not paying taxes by default? and please quote anywhere in my posts where I said tax should not be paid.
secondly, do you know for a fact that they were notified prior to closing down the village? Can you post a copy of it?
If you can't then stop telling me about how lagos is/was.
I know Lagos more than you can imagine.

@Damola and FBS

You guys are ignoring the environmental aspect of the issues. They are being asked to clean up the place and desist from flouting environmental laws. I recall when Ijora market was served this same notice, they quickly adjusted to avert being shut down.
Do you know this for a fact or you are just assuming?
Business › Re: Entire Computer Village Shut Down Over Tax by FBS: 10:23am On Nov 21, 2008
fyneguy:
The unavailability of evidence of what govt does with tax does not justify tax evasion. If you want that clause in the tax law, then mobilise other people to sponsor an amendment bill.
The law says pay your tax!
Who said tax should not be paid? The issue is how he went about closing down the whole place.
you can't for certain tell me that none of the shop/offices at the computer village don't pay tax?

The law as you mentioned also has its responsibilities!

No one has said tax payment is wrong but there is a precise way to go about this.

I think damola should be given some credit for his mode of thinking something even some graduates cannot manage.
My question is what has happened to the taxes paid by Lagosians all these years?

Those saying that what the governor did is right, well, I can bet you don't live in Nigeria and blabbing about how things are done out there is just irrelevant to this issue. No single state in Nigeria (correct me if I'm wrong) as shown accountability, Lagosians also have a right to good life and if you say pay tax to enjoy good life, no yawa but we all know that after paying what happens, NOTHING!!!

No one can honestly say  (we can only assume) that ALL the shops/offices at the computer evade tax. Prosecuting individuals and shop owners would have been a better approach and NOT closing the place DOWN.

GOALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NZL 2- 3 NIG (RITA 90' +2)

This match is mad entertaining, brilliant!!!!! My heart was in my mouth. I don't care what the stats say, but by my own count, our girls had 50 clear cut chances.
And when one may may have concluded that it will end 2-2.
The captain No 10. jersey, Rita Chukwelu made my day. Outstanding finish from a lob from the rightback.

Nigerian female team has a bright future.

Thank You and God bless.

kai, wink I'm loving this and it is clear that some people are just missing the aim of this post.

REMINDER: My bad for saying this again and again, this thread is not about Naija better than britain, but that even thought it is britain, it can be full of shaite or is that not possible?

Those trying to post us ugly pictures of naija, spare yourself the time and stress. We don see tire. I can even supply a thread about that on NL.

That pafun or whoever was denied visa is irrelevant to the topic. Stop crying, cursing and defending what is not defendable. That there are dirts and rubbish on the streets of your adopted country should not hurt you (REALITY CHECK). What you need to do is to carry broom and sweep. After that, snap the clean area and post. Maybe that will make you feel better?

IMO, the tournament is an eye sore, FIFA should discontinue this tournament! Did you see the terrible defending and crazy shooting? of course, they are 16 year old girls so I don't expect any better but all the same It shouldn't be on TV.
person force you watch TV? what is the problem with some people? How do you expect to give exposure to upcoming talents? if its an eye sore to you, switch to another channel, simple.

dude i believe the poster's notion or rather the way he presented his argument connotes that. being born british is full of advantages with not evident disadvantage, that does not mean i am british but would have rather loved to be, nevertheless it shouldn't connote i hate being nigerian, i love it and won't trade it now but i hate the system because its useless and stinks disgustingly and sometimes i feel like puking.
love it, hate it,  that is not the subject matter here. Goodness me, is it something out of this world for some parts of britain to be shaite? what is it that you folks are defending? that britain cannot be full of rubbish?

It seems to me that you are more of contradicting yourself or maybe I'm not just digging your point.
You love Nigeria and won't trade it but you would rather love to be british? dude, how do you explain that?

Again, the topic is not about Naija? why some people on this post are crying, cursing and getting mad because some UGLY pictures of britain was posted here, me just no understand. Is this the first time you are seeing such?

na wa o, does the topic say britain is better than Naija or Naija is better than britain, does it say it is better to be born british or to be born as a Nigerian? Have you forgotten that no one chooses where he or she is given birth to? that one is born even in space dont mean shit. you dont have 2 heads or do you?

everyone wants a good life and you can get that any where because the definition of "good life" means different things to different people.

People Migrate and will continue to and for different reasons.

I think the aim of the poster is to tell the story the way it is. That even though it is britain, it can also be full of shaite.

That said, can we kindly just stay on the subject of the thread?

@pafun: you must be a happy man. you are doing a wonderful job.
