Game Week 4 deadline is around the corner. Why will stockdale and Jaaskelainen be ineligible at the same time.

Time to hit the market. The league table must have a new look at the top soon

Ibime:
@ Eldee,

Don't hate, participate!

If Drogba is copping more points than a drunk drivers licence, you better hop on the bandwagon.

Besides most of us didn't have DD the first week when he copped hattrick. My margins were made by spotting a gap in the market with the likes of Walcott and Arshavin.

Other studious fellas like Chamokazzie are copping points on mission to prove that he can be successful without DD, yet you're here complaining. Study to show yourself approved like the Apostle Paul said to Timothy and quit whining. Hehehehehehe
Ibime, I bet you are cracking your brain for the replacement of your injury prone Walcott, aint you lucky to get those points from him.

Would try dedicate some million  seconds to debug the code that would unsit you from that position pretty soon, until then enjoy it while it last

yawn.!! guy what really is your point? if u are trying to do market analysis for chinks say so so we help you outright!!!

besides, if you did'nt notice, your conclusion simply translates to : chinese companies need to be like a regular mobile phone company and not just be churning our crap in a backyard workshop and calling it phone!!!

do u actually need someone to tell you that? or u mean they don't know? samsung is an asian company and they make decent fones!!!!!

tseew!

by the way i was checking out some iphone clones on youtube, meen massive sturvs o. there is one called ciphone, man u need see the thing great clone grin grin grin grin

so chinese phones now surf the net and support java ehn? na wah o. . . is that an improvment? grin grin
4llerbuntu, spot on, the idea if the thread is based on a market research on what the user experience is on chinese phones (unbranded). Yeah Samsung is Asian but you know Samsung is in their own class with Sony Ericsson, Nokia.

Have you seen the ipad clones too, epad, apad and the likes, some of those even have features that apple ipad doesnt.

Having worked with a Chinese telecom equipment vendors, seen the quality with almost ridiculous price of technologies that could come out of china, then I'm of the opinion that the an unbranded chinese phone of today might become an household name in Nigeria soon if users feedback are taking into considerations.

Your comments on your experience will be appreciated. No more yawning right?? grin

Chakaz, your comments are noted.

Thanks guys

Thanks guys for the comments, all well appreciated.

I could summarize from the thread that if the chinese made phones could be of good quality with readily available spares, provision of functions it meant  to provide, Internet, TV etc, easily download-able software/PC suite and above all if there is a Care centre for the chinese brands in Nigeria, then the sky could be the beginning for them as that could help bridge the gap for Nigeria to have close to 100% mobile phone penetration

mcbertin:
the governor is ill-informed, it costs a lot of money to acquire these equipments. It will probably cost an operator like MTN more than 40 million USD and remember this is not a revenue generating equipment.
Mcbertin, 40Million USD for ?? The equipment in question is called LBS (Location Based services), this is integrated into a operator existing network and the Operator or the regulator/ government agencies could track the mobile phones location.

I bet the equipment cost, implementation and what have you doesnt cost a 10th of what Mcbertin mentioned or rather put there are vendors that could even offer such with far less that a million USD.

Thats part of NSE role, this equipment are being rolled out on mobile network not only in the western world but even in the developing countries. Naija we will get there

There were reservation/analysis regarding chances of fielding RVP against BR yesterday and the issue of RVP getting injured was mentioned, I didnt expect to see him start, reason why I wouldnt have him in my team now,

Prof Wenger got this wrong, I would not have expected him to start fragile RVP in a game with hard tackling Blackburn.

I am Walcott's biggest advocate on this forum but even i didn't even expect him to score a hat-trick. I must say you where quite observant the thing is he can be a real goal-machine if he decides from here on out to actually shoot at the keeper rather than always trying to square the ball even when there is no one in the box
That wildcard is mainly an advantage when you want to make wholesale changes (6-10 players)so i feel for anyone that is being miserly with theirs! If your team sucks you might as well use it now
But the wildcard should be active for only 1 game week, Like Ibime mentioned he played the wildcard before the gameweek 2 deadline, so i would expect the wild card not to be active anymore for gameweek 3 deadline, but guess it is still active

NOTE: The second wild card is supposedly active for Gameweeks 23 and 27 , around the January transfer window.

Guess a bug in the EPL is allowing the wild card for 7 days (1 week) or the we are being misinformed by the EPL rule

Newcastle 6- 0 Aston Villa. Who on earth could predict such score line. Now I need at least one of my players to have a groin, calf, or whatever injury

Yep . . . but you get one free transfer and four points off for every other transfer for that Gameweek.
You also have two wildcards that you can use to clear your whole squad without any point deductions.

China becomes world Largest Economy!!!!!!!! Naija which way to gohuhhuh??

SHANGHAI — After three decades of spectacular growth, China passed Japan in the second quarter to become the world’s second-largest economy behind the United States, according to government figures released early Monday.

The milestone, though anticipated for some time, is the most striking evidence yet that China’s ascendance is for real and that the rest of the world will have to reckon with a new economic superpower.

The recognition came early Monday, when Tokyo said that Japan’s economy was valued at about $1.28 trillion in the second quarter, slightly below China’s $1.33 trillion. Japan’s economy grew 0.4 percent in the quarter, Tokyo said, substantially less than forecast. That weakness suggests that China’s economy will race past Japan’s for the full year.

Experts say unseating Japan — and in recent years passing Germany, France and Great Britain — underscores China’s growing clout and bolsters forecasts that China will pass the United States as the world’s biggest economy as early as 2030. America’s gross domestic product was about $14 trillion in 2009.

“This has enormous significance,” said Nicholas R. Lardy, an economist at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. “It reconfirms what’s been happening for the better part of a decade: China has been eclipsing Japan economically. For everyone in China’s region, they’re now the biggest trading partner rather than the U.S. or Japan.”

Manny4life,
Please, let us know the reason why you call 'em junk.

I bet so many products we use today are manufactured out of China, but with better quality control and good brand, a host of branded phones even Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer(Not limited to Huawei) are competing with Ericsson, Nokia Siemens etc, reason why we are trying to dig deep into what problems people in Naija are facing per the Chinese phones

Hello Fellow Nairalanders,

I have heard lot of mixed feeling per Chinese mobile phone usage in Nigeria. While there is no gainsaying that one could get these phones at budget/very low price compared to the branded phones, I have heard people complain of the phones not being user friendly, unavailability of spare parts not limited to charger, battery, softwares, PC suites and a host of others.

Do you think if the phones are of a comparable quality with the branded ones (Nokia, Sony Ericsson,Samsung etc) with readily available parts, softwares and to cap it all with Service Centres (creating employment)with trained Nigerians to resolve all issues with excellent Customer service put in place,
could the Chinese made phones fly in Nigeria??

Please make your opinion known on this huh

Links to website detailing phone prices in naija will be appreciated too

Eldee, Ibime, et al,

I appreciate that you guys have set up criteria to filter out some people from not participating in the Nairaland EPL, I see the reasons of filtering out foreigners but I think making the no of post as the major qualification criterion as it is now isnt that fair even to the Nairaland community. If i were to set the criteria, Guess I would have consider some people that do not have the four/five figures post but whose post has add values to someone else's life. I wouldnt be abusing, harrasing fellow Nigerians here in the name of trying to get my post to 500 or 1000s.
I am of the school of thought that goes with quality not quantity
