Foreign AffairsRe: Donald Trump : $5 Million In Exchange For Obama’s College Records. by Feedmemore(op): 9:15pm On Oct 24, 2012
I rarely say this about anybody, but Donald Trump is totally out of his mind! I think that many people would be more interested if he had offered Mitt Romney the same amount of money to release all of this tax records. Mr. Trump, you have lost all credibility.
Foreign AffairsDonald Trump : $5 Million In Exchange For Obama’s College Records. by Feedmemore(op): 8:50pm On Oct 24, 2012
Donald Trump, the impossibly coiffed real estate mogul, reality TV star and de facto leader of the "birther" movement, made his "big announcement" about President Barack Obama on Wednesday, saying he would give $5 million to a charity of Obama's choice in exchange for the release of the commander in chief's college records and passport application.

"Barack Obama is the least transparent president in the history of this country," Trump said in a video shot from his New York office and uploaded to YouTube.

"I'm very honored to have gotten him to release his long-form birth certificate or whatever it may be."

"I have a deal for the president," Trump continued. "If Barack Obama opens up and gives his college records and applications and if he gives his passport applications and records I will give to a charity of his choice—inner-city children in Chicago, American Cancer Society, AIDS research, anything he wants—a check immediately for $5 million."

The professional carnival barker also issued an accompanying press release on his Facebook page.

The announcement was immediately mocked on Twitter.

"Our expectations about @realDonaldTrump's Obama announcement were clearly not low enough," New York Magazine said on its Twitter feed.

"BREAKING: Donald Trump demands to know what medical school Dr. Dre went to," Twitter user @BScalabrine24 wrote.

"Trump will give $5 million if Obama releases his college records," @WatchJ tweeted. "I'll give a crackhead $3 if Trump releases that squirrel sittin on his head."

"BREAKING: Donald Trump replaces bed bugs as Americas #1 Pest," Lizz Winstead wrote on Twitter.

"We're going to make a very important cat announcement shortly that will change the internet," BuzzFeed declared.

"Sorry Trump, but in the same way the U.S. doesn't negotiate with terrorists, presidents shouldn't negotiate with idiots," @the_moonface wrote.

"This Donald Trump character is Andy Kaufman's greatest bit ever," Aaron Blitzstein tweeted.

"Donald Trump is the Honey Boo Boo of rich people," @MorgonFreeman said.

"Trump, would you be a dear and offer 5 million dollars if Romney will reveal ANY PART of his economic plan?" Alex Baze wrote.

The Onion tweeted: "'I'm a sad, pathetic human being and a complete waste of life.' — Donald Trump."

In an interview with "Fox & Friends" on Monday, Trump said, "I have something very, very big concerning the president of the United States. I will be announcing it sometime probably Wednesday and it's going to be very big."

"Will it change the election?" co-host Gretchen Carlson asked Trump. "Possibly," Trump replied. "It's very big—bigger than anybody would know."
Following Trump's titillating tease, there was some speculation that he would unveil divorce papers that Michelle Obama had allegedly drawn up more than a decade ago. Others thought the "Celebrity Apprentice" host had proof of the president's rumored cocaine use during college.

In August, Trump was supposed to deliver a "big surprise" at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., but Hurricane Isaac forced the GOP to cut his appearance from the truncated schedule. The "big surprise"? A video featuring an Obama impersonator who Trump predictably fired.

Oh boy, what have y’all done to the stern Governor of Lagos State?

Many commercial motorcyclists have complained over the ban on their operations on major highways in Lagos State but the government is not soft-pedaling (pun intended) on the traffic law as the commissioner of transportation, Kayode Opeifa, has disclosed that as from January 2013, commercial bus drivers and conductors will have to wear uniforms and badges.

He disclosed this during the weekend at a sensitisation programme for transporters on the new road traffic law at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Secretariat, Alausa, Lagos.

He said the government’s intention is to bring sanity to Lagos roads so that transport operators in the state can develop pride in their jobs. The commissioner appealed to commercial bus drivers to desist from attacking BRT buses.

While speaking on the occasion, the attorney-general and commissioner for justice, Ade Ipaye reportedly insisted that the new traffic law is not a tool for revenue generation but as a means to protect the interest of the citizens.

He stated that the penalties for road traffic offences were to serve as a deterrent to road traffic offenders thereby guaranteeing safety on the roads.

The commissioner informed the transport operators who feel wrongly treated by traffic management officials to report such incidents to the relevant authorities or seek redress in court.

Commissioner for information and strategy, Lateef Ibirogba urged them to first comply with the law, insisting that in any civilized society there must be rules and regulations which must be obeyed for there to be peace and order.

The new traffic law continues to get more interesting by the day.

PoliticsNigerian Diplomats In Europe, Americas Stranded*use Ghanaians As Fronts... by Feedmemore(op): 7:03pm On Oct 23, 2012
NIGERIA'S foreign service officials have become the laughing stocks of the diplomatic world in Europe and the Americas following the failure of the home government to remit their salaries and allowances to them as and when due.

Investigations by the Nigerian Tribune revealed that in most parts of Europe and the Americas, Nigerian diplomats now have to resort to using Ghanaians as fronts when looking for accommodation because most landlords refuse to let their houses to Nigerians.

The issue, according to sources especially in Switzerland, Italy, Canada, United States and Germany, has to do with the failure of the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to remit the salaries and allowances of the foreign service staff to the respective embassies and high commissions on time.

Right now, sources confirmed that Nigerian diplomats across Europe and the Americas are being owed minimum of two months salaries and allowances.

Sources confirmed that the plight of the foreign service staff was further compounded by the fact that they cannot utilise the earnings of their respective embassies from visa applications on ways and means.

Investigations further revealed that most embassies and high commissions are compelled to use the resources they make from visa applications to offset salaries of local staff and pay for services, while the Nigerian officials are left to fend for themselves until Abuja releases funds.

The case of Canada was said to have got worse in recent weeks, forcing Ambassador Ojo Maduekwe to run to Abuja to hold talks with President Goodluck Jonathan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Gbenga Asiru, to avoid total closure of the High Commission in Canada.

Nigerian Tribune further gathered that Maduekwe's decision was borne out of feelers that the High Commission might be shut down by Canadian officials if it defaulted on payment for services.

Sources confirmed that for embassies and high commissions with huge population of Nigerians, the stress could be less because they could still have some resources to handle their ways and means after paying local staff.

"The problems confronting Nigerian diplomats are many. Their salaries are delayed; they are often left to fend for themselves in foreign lands. The problem is further compounded by the fact that the embassies cannot afford to owe their local staff, whether Abuja releases money or not. The embassies have to pay salaries and for telephones, water and other services. Those are not negotiable. As for the foreign service staff, they are left on their own," a source in the know said.

It was gathered that the practice of delaying funds for the running of Nigerian embassies and high commissions across the world has been a long standing issue and that many times, the diplomats are owed five months salaries.

Sources said that the situation for Nigerian diplomats in Geneva and Switzerland has gone worse as many of them now have to get houses using Ghanaians as fronts.

"What happens is that the landlords no longer let out their houses to Nigerians because they default. So a Nigerian will have to gather his money, look for a Ghanaian who will pay for a house on his behalf and sign the agreement with the landlord before transferring the house to the Nigerian, who gave him the money. It is that bad," the source said.

A source further said that many Nigerian diplomats had heaved a sigh of relief when the current Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Marthin Umhouibi, was appointed on the strength of the fact that he was formerly an ambassador in Europe and had experienced similar difficulties while in foreign service. The source, however, added that the situation has improved a bit but that there was only a reduction from five months arrears of salaries to two.

Did anyone else listened to this during the debate :

"You mentioned the Navy, for example, and that we have fewer ships than we did in 1916. Well, Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets, because the nature of our military's changed. We have these things called aircraft carriers, where planes land on them. We have these ships that go underwater, nuclear submarines.

"And so the question is not a game of Battleship," Obama continued, "where we're counting ships. It's what are our capabilities."
It was very funny..I had to stop my car to laugh..I was very disappointed that Romney didn't have any comeback on it.. I was expecting some..The conservative twitters started saying it was arrogant.. Come on , Man..It was a good punch.. take it like a man..

Foreign AffairsFrance Sending Drones To West Africa, Holding Secret Talks by Feedmemore(op): 7:12am On Oct 23, 2012
PARIS (AP) — France will move surveillance drones to West Africa and is holding secretive talks with U.S. officials in Paris this week as it seeks to steer international military action to help Mali's feeble government win back the northern part of the country from al-Qaida-linked rebels, The Associated Press has learned.

France and the United Nations insist any invasion of Mali's north must be led by African troops. But France, which has six hostages in Mali and has citizens who have joined al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb, is playing an increasing role behind the scenes.

Many in the West fear that northeast Mali and the arid Sahel region could become the new Afghanistan, a no-man's-land where extremists can train, impose hardline Islamic law and plot terror attacks abroad. And France, former colonial ruler to countries across the Sahel, is a prime target.

"This is actually a major threat — to French interests in the region, and to France itself," said Francois Heisbourg, an expert at the Foundation for Strategic Research, a partially state-funded think tank in Paris. "This is like Afghanistan 1996. This is like when Bin Laden found a place that was larger than France in which he could organize training camps, in which he could provide stable preparations for organizing far-flung terror attacks."

France is turning its attention to the Sahel just as it is accelerating its pullout of combat troops from Afghanistan ahead of other NATO allies.
A French defense official said Monday that France plans to move two surveillance drones to western Africa from Afghanistan by year-end, though he did not provide details. France is also reported to have special forces in the region around Mali, and to have contracted out surveillance of Mali to a private company.

Top-level American and French military leaders and diplomats, including U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Johnnie Carson, began two days of talks in Paris on Monday on intelligence-gathering and security in the Sahel region, including Mali, diplomats from both sides told the AP.
The defense official and diplomats spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to talk publicly about the activities.

Foreign AffairsObama Vs Romney - 'horses And Bayonets' Goes Viral by Feedmemore(op): 6:50am On Oct 23, 2012
President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney clashed in an exchange about the size of the U.S. military in what may end up being the signature dialogue of the third and final presidential debate.

"Our Navy is smaller now than at any time since 1917," Romney said. "The Navy said they needed 313 ships to carry out their mission. We're now at under 285. ... We're headed down to the low 200s if we go through a sequestration. That's unacceptable to me."

Romney also said the U.S. Air Force is "older and smaller" than at any time since it first flew in 1947 and that the U.S. has begun to move away from its traditional stance of being able to simultaneously fight wars on two fronts.

"I think Governor Romney maybe hasn't spent enough time looking at how our military works," Obama said, beginning a sharp assault on Romney's foreign policy knowledge.

As some observers pointed out, the remark may have added insult to injury, considering Romney is the owner of a horse that competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics.
