Best978: brilliant Mehn. lol... This is your first attempt I guess. This last question is for you alone. In a group of 68 students, each student is registered for at least one of three classes - History, Math and English. Twenty-five students are registered for History, twenty-five students are registered for Math, and thirty-four students are registered for English. If only three students are registered for all three classes, how many students are registered for exactly two classes? |

joshuakdboy: Attempt this last one... Both answers are correct, but I assume I didn't give you a unique one to answer. Indian restaurant has 60% of spicy dishes in the menu and the rest are non-spicy. Analysis shown that in 2016 75% of the spicy dishes were profitable, but 75% of the non-spicy dishes were unprofitable. If the restaurant has a total of 40 dishes, and broke even on none of them, how many of their dishes were profitable? |

How many cars will the plant need to produce from 2016 through 2018 in order to increase its monthly average for the period from 2015 through 2018 by 200% over its 2015 average? |

Career / Should I Accept This Promotion? by Fela40: 12:11pm On Aug 16, 2017 |
I know since you saw promotion as a keyword in the subject line, you might be tempted to say "take It". But please read and advise me properly. As at yesterday I didn't know that I would be in this situation today. It is a tricky one and your advice would go a long way. I am from a poor home, and I keep trying all I know to improve my situations as a young man. I paid through my nose to train myself in an I.T institute of which they helped me secure a job. After my first training outside the country, I made sure that a good percentage of my salary was re-invested back into ICT training and developments. At this point, it is paying off dearly because I am now so advanced that I am taking up challenging tasks in the company and I am killing them off with ease. My direct supervisor knows little or nothing as compared to what I know despite being in the company for long. I guess the management noticed it longest time, but were watching the way I handled both technical and human issues. Just this morning, I was called by the MD and the H.R and I was told that my HOD has agreed to be demoted, instead of sacked because of incompetence. That I need to take up the leadership position due to my input and my technical know how. And this promotion comes with a slight increase in Salary. Now I am wondering if I should take this or..... I am so confused and wide thoughts are running through my small head. Please any advice is no bad advice. Please help me with any advice. |

Education / ASUU Indefinite Strike: Any Hope For The Undergraduates? by Fela40: 12:03pm On Aug 15, 2017 |
This morning I woke up to the sad news that the body governing universities in Nigeria has gone on an indefinite strike. The first thing that ran through my mind was: "What happens to my younger ones still in school?" I remembered that the last indefinite strike lasted about 7 months and I almost broke down in tears. Questions upon questions ran through my mind. Is this the way they are treating the leaders of tomorrow in Nigeria? What will be the fate of the students? What next for them? Any hope at all? I pondered through all these till I went on Nairaland Front Page to check-up on any available news concerning the strike. Lo and behold I found something that even caught my attention as a young working Nigerian. The CEO of Hotels.ng was soliciting for interns from students on strike. "What a chance!!!" I yelled. I quickly called home to ask my younger one if she was interested in the deal, after all I could house her in Lagos. She replied thus "what is coding". I became so weak that I had to just terminate the call and bid her good-luck with her strike issues. Here is my message to all students on strike: "While others see this strike as a setback, the ambitious ones will tap from the opportunity it presents." I don't want to start telling you the benefits of acquiring a skill during this period and the impact it will make in your life in the long run. I will quote the CEO of Hotels.ng "Students with special coding skills will be housed specially." What other skill can give you such a rare privilege? Several times we have employed exceptional interns in my firm; and I tell you that they earn more than some average Nigerian workers. Before you start thinking about how to wait and enjoy at home till the strike is called off, see this as a blessing in disguise. Stand up from complaining, inform your parents that you are going to pick up a skill even before the strike is called off and get down to business. Any Hope for The Nigerian Undergraduate? YES THERE IS HOPE!! He who has an ear, let me hear what FELA is saying this afternoon. Fela writes from Lagos. IT Technician and Cyber Security Expert. 16 Likes 1 Share |
