U cheated yourself in a way, next time if you re doing a return trip, always tell the rider to update as you re getting to a particular stop.

Sometimes Bolts app rolls back especially if the trip is a round trip, only d minutes will be correct.

Two ways to solve dis.

1. Asking rider to always update as trip progresses

2. For such trip when you re about to end it, note dis , wen U slide on end trip as the app is rolling, switch to Airplane mode or off data(anyone), d app will.write no network connection, once U see that switch on again, Ur fare will be calculated to the last KM.

Note i have tried this several times and I don't have issue wit incomplete KM again
You dare not allow rider to update trip what so ever, I've experience this more than twice on uber, the moment you update trip especially if the request came in with a surge and it's later updates believe you me such trip will be calculated base on the present update.

My last experience waz about 3weeks ago. I was in Surulere one evening when I got this 3rd party card trip to Unilag area, on our way the girl said she would be going to isolo afterwards. I complained that I needed cash instead and then we agreed to offline.

On getting to Yaba, different request was just balling in and even with surge as high as 3.0. Before her friend joined us in the ride we tried to settled price for the offline trip by checking the estimate which was around N3500-5000. Babe refused to pay 5k, in my thinking make I just run am like that with the card believing the sum up would get to 6k at the end of trip.

I updated the trip from my end and the girl asked her bf to also upsate from his end as well unknowing to me, which ever way I believed the surge in the area as at then would up.

Trip lasted about 2hrs to get to her destination, lo and behold trip ended N3,400 or thereabout.

My brother I almost cry.

Best thing is just leave the app to be running like that with the first request while you input the address on Gmap.

I've also experience a surge trip cancelled out to update of address on the app. I mailles uber but no proof to backup my claim. I just rest.

That would be a good one.

I guess they are losing drivers due to cancellations.

Uber thinks bringing new drivers would mitigate the effect of the banned drivers, in the long run, yes, but in the short run, they are actually losing revenue.

Cos, it takes sometime for the rookies to come to speed on how to make money.

The best drivers from a revenue perspective ( that earn most) are those that filter/select their trips. You need destination for that. Esp.in a city like Lagos

Seeing destination reduces cancellation rates for both drivers and riders. Riders will only cancel by choice not out of desperation.

It helps the driver/partner plan his/her trip.
You work on the island. You close from work, you live around Ajah/ sangotedo axis.

N uber is bringing trips going to ojodu/berger, abule egba, mainland. embarassed.

This will make d driver cancel, rider is frustrated, driver is unhappy he can't get a trip home.

Eventually driver gets blocked, Uber loses money, the cycle repeats itself.

In Lagos, some areas you don't want to go to, some drivers/partners will like to go there.
So keep the rides open.
Brother man, you sabi.

I hail you.

If you follow uber on Twitter then you must have seen how I analysed almost same things you just pointed out here.

I suggest you take this to Twitter for wider view so they too can see it.

It seems uber is working on their app. I don't seems to see my balance.

I did a complain to them on Twitter and they replied that I can now see rider's location when a request comes in. Like, is it rider's location we need or destination?

I've said it b4, I'm very sure their programmer is been affected by the covid-19 reason for the serious setback they're presently having.

I hope they bounce back stronger.

Just avoid blocking by uber, until you can resolve d bolt issue.

For me, uber is a last resort app.. I'm careful with the bolt app, so far it has proved more resourceful income -wise than Uber.
Thanks brotherly.

She actually didn't spend too much time.

She gave me the bottle of action bitters she bought to help her open, the cover was really bad. That was our first interaction after the greetings.

I noticed madam was singing back to a music playing on the radio which was later cut short by the presenter.

I went unto my audiomask app and search for something similar "old school mis".

na so madam head boast, she started singing along with joy, shouting, asking where I got this from. B4 I knew it madam started crying seriously sharing tears of joy.

She stopped at a supermarket store and bought some things, came back inside and gave me a yoghurt.

Im currently on a card trip from magodo to ICM and the rider just went inside to do sime shopping while asking me to wait. Though she told me right frim the moment I tried picking her up. Uber has been flagging me for too much of cancellations so I decides to go in the trip but I really dint know how long this lady will be taking.

What do you guys think. Bearing in mind it's 1hr free waiting at the car lot.

Should I end trip or keep waiting?

In the other side,

Yesterday my motor turn canoe for Surulere, that road that leads to Eric Moore, the road was terrible so I'd to tell the guys I couldn't proceed sue to the bad road. Dropped then at that junction close to Orile bustop. Trip ended N1800 the guys dash me the change.

na so I turn beliving I would be able to go through the road I came in from not knowing those security has closed the gate.

Come see people stranded at the b/s at that time of the night past 9pm. Look at their faces could only sight a woman who looked pregnant.

"na so them dey rush us"

called the woman she said she's going to costain.
Me: I'll stop you at safety. (To me a cooperate man shouldn't be at that junction at that time let alone a pregnant woman)

You needed to see the way she hurriedly enteres the car and the relief ahe felt when she entered the car.

Got to the diversion security don close gate waka. na so I take resort to swim pass since its the only road I know.

Since morning till now that I'm writing thua my car is still at the car wash. Ive spent N2,500 already.

Meanwhile, madam was going to ajah. I just hope she gets home safely

You should do well to explain reasons why Unilag graduates more first honorary degree holders instead of take defence or see it as criticism simply because a few persons couldn't secure admission into the school.

If you and other likes where swapped to other tertiary institutions like UNN, UI, UNICA only to mention a few how well do you think you can graduate with with the same enthusiasm you just spoke of? I'm sure you would be dazed.

A quick question, how many of your professors in unilag do we have in IUPAC, ICAN, NSE and other recognised bodies?

The truth remains unilag throws the first class honors to the air while other schools lock it up in their cupboards for the genius students to crack open the code.

Notwithstanding sir, I'm not trying to under rate you neither the institution for it's great works rather my point to op is this, forget 1st class once you have such a grade in your first year, but 2nd class upper isn't far fetch.

Just as I suggested to them on the radio when the issue was raised about the closure I'm very much happy about this.

Same system employed in the dopemu flyover

What this means is that from about 12mid night to 12noon the open lane would be a one way towards thr island from the mainland.

From 12noon to 11:55pm midnight would be another one way from the island to the mainland.

So you have no business plying the 3md bridge coming n going against these time from the island and vis ver sar at these hours.

If engine is burning oil like that, better to check pc valves and engine oil seal .. I experince similar issues like that, I was told to use heavy grade oil .. I said no , and took the car to another mechanic.. Engine cover was open ,and we found out the oil seal was worn out .. The seal was replaced and problem solved.....

So please car owners out there. Before anyone tells to start using thicker oil coz of oil burn make sure u check the basic things pc valves and ask a mechanic to open the engine cover to check for any worn out seal ... Ayodele Bishop did the job for me .. The first was a civic 03 than a Camry 07 and than elantra 08.. Also use good oil preferable USA brands.. Welcome back bro
Pls I have a camry 2003 I bought 2016 and due to d advice from a colleague who has been using same car for 6 years before I bought mine, I decided to be using Mobil XHP oil against the recommended oil. Everything was going smoothly until early last year wen I started noticing oil shortage and some oil stain around d engine. We check for possible leak and change all parts my then mechanic suggested we change. It only stopped for a while and d issue continued. My car is not smoking but some mechanic are suggesting ringing while some are against d idea.
Can I start using synthetic oil to stop the oil shortage or get another engine wen d fund is available?
What just happened to you is the advance effect as a result of uaing the oil not recommended for your engine. Rigging, overhauling or what ever it is called won't solve the problem. My brother that engine is gone you can take it from me.

If you doubt me, can you compare tje way the car moves now with yje way it moves when you first bought the car? Obviously NO! That's to say the engine is already weaken.

Try this and you see you engine has started smoking already. Fire the car very well and use your index finger to pick the inside of the exhaust you would have noticed a mixture of oil and carbon stain on your finger. You probably don't need to see the visible black smoke to know if yiur engine has staryed smoking.

This is also a good technic to know if an engine is about to start smoking b4 buying a car.

Best solution is contact dru23 or GUZZUZZ to get you a good engine direct from the US then start using the rexommendes oil.

God luck

Felicity, you have not explained your pound / penny analysis.

Are you saying you cover 5,000km in 6 months.driving uber in Lagos . That is you service twice a year?

As per the moove cars, I just gave my opinion.

But I don't see the point of using an expensive equipment when a 2003-2007 model can achieve the same objective.

A 2016 car on #60/km and #10/min. Hmmmn , that's some serious bottom line reconciliation.

So if a request takes DT car to Atican beach/ barracuda beach... Na still movt abi?
Brother man which one be ur own self with this moove matter? abi u get personal biff with them?? Uber is looking for a world class standard service rendering so if moove offers them that kind of plan what then do you have to complain about? Abi sha na ur car ni. Bro leave them let them taste the soil even if it a roycrolls. After all Dubia uses cars that are even more expensive than that for taxi. Cutting of edges is part of life and progress. It may look wrong but it's what it is.

People loby to get a contract.
Why do companies pay royalties to traditional rulers, community boys, settle cult boys and even arm rubbers just to have a smooth operation? Even after paying task and awarding scholarship.

While in school there is a term called "softening the ground" isn't that corruption? Yet the white man made it legal and even included it into our syllabus.

So brother man, do what ever you can to survive especially in this country so long your conscience doesn't condemn it.

As for me I'm very much ok with Uber apart from this present time which is very challenging due to the absence of promotion. One thing I like about uber is if you work 10k with uber you go c ur money but with taxify a go be like say your money is been siphoned and repatriated to an Indian goddess.

The 2 reasons I would want my bolt account back is because of their accurate set destination feature and to fill the viod of uber's driving hours.
