Since you are new in this line of business, I will advise you tell him to let you test the group for a week or two for 25k first by then you will know what is good for you either to continue or terminate the deal.
Note: You may not make much profit in the beginning.
You must also consider the terms and conditions before taking decisions.
Best of luck.
Had you knew what this guy in question is up to I'm sure you wouldn't have given him this profile advice.

But anyways, still good luck to him.

I pray he doesn't get blocked in a week as riders would have complain of "not been saved while on trip" due to impercinification.

We think bolt is a bit soft but this kind thing them no dey joke with am ooh....

The ones from poor homes that you would expect to be humble are worse. They try to order you by every opportunity. I always have a way of making them to shut up. Need I mention the ones from south east. The bulk of bad and repulsive riders are from there.
I've made a post and have categorise riders accordingly before. SE ladies seems to be winning in this area of bad xter n attitude.

Meanwhile, the woman I talked about today is a Yoruba Muslim. She actually reminded me of Another lady I picked from glo office around bordilium way ikoyi. Babe is first child n lives in her house in lekki off admiralty. You needed to c the humility in her.

Chai!!! Thus work good for single guys I swear.

Such riders are one in a million. They possess this unusual courtesy and politeness. An average female rider don’t have manners and etiquette, especially from poor homes, their perception about driver is so degrading and dehumanizing. I ve met this unique and special riders too. Most of them tends to come from wealthy homes.
I tell you.

When i say this woman fine trust me I mean it... If you c her kids self... Chia!!! They look like hushpuppy Gucci macaroni... So cute.

Las Las trip ended with about 6stops overs with Surulere traffic.... She paid me the exact fare of N2,500 and I still helped have packed her luggage self join.

The so called captain played a fast one on him psychologically by telling him is a captain and showing him his picture with gun. That alone is enough to intimidate and make someone believe such person can’t be fraudulent. That was why he allowed him to go
Why would anyone make you feel intimidated or less a human or inferior for who they're and what they do? Howhuh

For you or anyone to feel intimidated or threatened means you are having issue with your self esteem and you see yourself as worthless and just an ordinary driver.

This is one of the major reasons the advice of good dressing and good looking is advised. So who so ever enters your ride should be able to access you and know if they can play a fast one on you or not.

As for me, evennif you're 2baba or Mr president I'll only accord you the respect you accord me meeting me otherwise I give you the way you want it, simple.

In btw, some women's beauty and approach can make someone break his rules ooh... Chai! I'm currently on a trip with one beautiful and respectful woman. She carry food from house enter car first thing she said was "come and eat" with smile on her face. Chia! Local man just weak... We've had like 3stops already with at least 5min each...

I didn't know beautiful women still have good manners like this b4 oh.

It's so painful naa.

The annoying part is how we carried it out. How can someone tell me he will send his boy to transfer for me, and I'll let him go?

I dey craze?

Drivers should start guarding their pockets well. Uber is even no longer responsible for dubious riders anymore.

Make we wise up abeg. I feel so bad reading this
Why feel bad my man? Does a professor beat himself or feel like he didn't carryout his job well because 2 out of 10 of his students failed his exam?

Does a father feel bad for having a Judas among his 12 sons?

Should a mother cut off her breast that the child has polio or jaundice even after breast feeding for 2yrs?

Till today and till tomorrow I still accept transfers but since my last experience in last yr I haven't fall prey again, someone would want to say I never meet a chronic thief. As a matter of fact I've met the once with robber written in their faces yet I still get my credit alert b4 I open my doors.

Compensate Bawo you win some you lose some if you try that nonsense with me I’ll report you, Kilode what nonsense, nobody should harass anybody they paid for their journey, take it as a lesson tomorrow is another day
But you where part of those that crusified me for dropping of a rider half way the other day but now you're in support of a rider that absconded leaving the driver in traffic.

What a world you leave in.

People have choices and should be allowed to make their choices by freewill and without been questioned.

Both riders and drivers have absolute autonomy to end a ride at anytime if they don't feel okay or comfortable and also demanding for the fare to distance covered.

The driver in question doesn't have any right to ask for compensation if a rider ask to end a ride halfway, reason the use of Gmap is recommended and it gives alternative route, same time a driver has every right to end trip. I must not take to your destination. I did it last week self, dropped a guy at fagba junction after spending over 1hr 30min from ogba while dude was going to ishaga area. Even in the rain, though, just stopped raining yet I still had to so an early drop off because I couldn't bear driving home through the heavy traffic, bad and flooded roads all for a price different of say N500.

But if that rider had preferred and asked the driver to use that route that brought them to the traffic then driver has a voice to query and better still report such rider to her mother body or go in headlock with such a wicked person.

Anything out of that? Both driver and rider has right to end ride at anytime.

To those believing business has return back to normal I'd advised they drive on uber for just 3days stretch then come back and tell us how far.

Until Uber returns with their 3% promo and incentives or something else? To me business is still bad.

Before the pandemic most of bolt drivers run 35 trips and above within 48hrs while uber drivers can do minimum of 16trips within same time, but how many drivers can boast of that number now let alone a week.

Mind you all schools are still close.
Clubs and social gatherings are on indefinite suspension.
Religious gathering and top government workers are not left out.
All banks are doing 1week on and off for their workers.
A lot of business have gone into extinction while some still locked due to international travel restrictions.
International travel around the world is still under suspension.

With all of these and even more under lockdown who is that person that still say or believe business has return back to normal? The persin dey mad ni abi u dey wine me nihuh

Well, it's a matter of choice though, weather you're a renter or rentee anything that you feel is ok by you is wellcome.

I absolutely agree that some topics are irrelevant with regards to becoming a software engineer , but I think a cs degree prepares you for a bit of every area
The problennis nor only synonymous with CS but with almost every degree in Nigeria tertiary institutions. Our institutions have never had a good curriculum background for both skills, theoretical and intellectual learning rather we copied the western education wrongly instead of improving on it making a better version.

Every degree in our educational system still require an external or professional learning before a student/graduate can become a master.

This is why most CEOs keep saying Nigeria graduates are unemployable.

Bottom line: I'd rather acquire a skill than spending 4,-7yrs in University.

I think his best bet is to see panel as someone suggested. Reason been that, there is a channel for water from roof to the door, so there is possibly a blockage. Because even if he use the potty to block it, the water will surely find another angle....
Yes you're right and most definitely he will need a panel beater to remove that croon on top of the roof to know where the leakage is coming from.

I speak and advise from experience, else I wouldn't dive into comments. Though I disnt go through all of those process of removing windscreen or croon, I only directed and worked with the panel guy to fix it by using potty since I'd the best understanding of where the problem was.

yea but it becomes annoying when someone who attends a 3 months bootcamp thinks they know it all
In that note let me make u more annoy.

Why do I need to go spend 4-5yrs in university just to become a software engineer which I can as well learn as a vocational skill?

Most CS jobs don't need a certificate to get, rather it's base on what you can do especially in this present dispentiation the corona pandemic has brought us to, now most CS jobs are source, done, delivered and paid online for.

You dont need to go through the walls an institution to acquire knowledge to build a computer, code, design a web, graphic or any of its relations. All of these can be learnt as skills and not necessarily a degree.

Had our tertiary institutions been producing graduates with competent skills in this acts then one would agreed to the relevants of her certificate but the reverse is the case here where graduates of CS have to still gone learn the bases from online, tutorials or paid professionals before knowing the ABC-Z, so if you agree to this why then would you want to go through the long lane??

That leakage is coming from the roof chanel1. You'll have to use that siliant use for windscreen I really don't know the name but they locally call it 'potty" it's black like this.

Put it in that their gun instrument and then apply it technically and neatly in form of a line just beside the black plastic/rubber cover on top the roof. Or better still remove the two rubber on top the roof before applying it then replace. Allow to cake. Come back and thank me later.

The only management you need is your ego, take my advices from my previous post, or better still resort to previous means/ways since you've been having same or similar encounters in the past 3yrs. One thing is certain money must drop even if the state IG is your dad.

Sorry about that pope.

But I thought if there is a legal document as per change of ownership, it means the vehicle belongs to you now, number plate or not?
Isn't that the right thing? There is a legal document backing that you own d car n d number plate.
No legal backing for plate number oh my guy, plate number is a permanent property to the individual which the plate number is registered in his or her name. Change of ownership does not curtains number plate but the car alone so a new owner will have to get his or her own number plate registered in their names to suit the change of ownership and this process is always accompanied with a court affidavit and a police extract.

Pope191, what more can i say to you now? This problem would have been avoided had you done the right thing from the onset and all those while I was seeking advice from this same thread of "the dealer and new owner of my previous car" you know you'd similar problem you didn't borther to mention it now look at what this has resulted into. Even if the trip was online a smart and intelligent police would have still spot it in your papers.

Anyways, police is our friend just bargain with them starting from 5k but I'm very sure nothing short of 10k will come out of your pocket and bybthe time you come out of this make sure you go back and do tje right thing else you would have spend money meant for a plate number settling police on a daily or weekly basis.

Good luck

To all pilots.

Apropos to northbird recent post, I've been thinking on discussing on a topic "dangers and benefits of offline trips as against online trips".

During my orientation training with uber, similar case was raised and thank God the driver was on trip, police detained the driver along with the rider but uber officials came and got the driver released. Had that driver not been on a trip he would have been charged along side yhe rider.

So guys let's be careful when opting to offline trips.

There're many more disadvantages an offline trip comes with even but in all, only God will help us.

Youe own self is good. Sometimes my goes as high as 80-85%.

Taxify riders cancel at will, I once picked an elderly woman from Ajegunle to her daughter's place in Ayobo some two months ago, when I arrived the first thing the daughter that requested for the ride did was looked at my face closely, I was somehow embarrased that I needed to ask why she was accessing me like, she said she didn't like the look of the previous 2 drivers that came b4 me so she had to cancel.

The annoying thing is when a driver is blocked for one/any of these reasons bolt technical team won't/don't have the sense to reaaon.

Well, bolt is the master in the game of monopoly so a reason to do and undo.

Rule 2: ones you suspect the rider is unfriendly don't start the trip.

I have no idea. Chevy view is flooded so expect nothing less at VGC.

Meanwhile I’m on a trip to Festac and I’ll need assistance with the best route to use in getting out of here. (Though I haven’t gotten to festac).

The story behind this Festac trip:

I had just drop a rider off at Chevy view when I got a request at the estate gate, no destination, called rider.

Me: Good afternoon

R: Good day bros, abeg before you ask me where I’m going let me tell you.
Me: okay?

R: I’m going to Mile 2, trade fair to be precise. I know it’s far and you won’t go but pls hear me out.

Me: Okay, I’m with you.

R: I’ll pay you 15k to take me there, in fact drop me at Festac, I’ll find my way from there. You are the sixth driver I’ll book.

Me: Hmm hold on for a moment, I’ll call you back.

A quick check on Bolt app, Chevy view to Festac town estimated price showed 3300-4200.

I called him back and I picked him from Marcopolo. We’ve been on the trip since 1:15.
If I were you the only song I'll play all through the trip is "this na temptation" by P-Square.

Lol... Hope you collect money b4 una start trip shal I no won hear say u reach destination rider japka o h

Cc: babadee, izzou, bigleaf, davit, donfortunate, pope, gentlelife
I haven't gone out today so I wouldn't know much about that area, but most likely it should be flooded.
Incase you have to go just make sure you drive behind a car or stay at the center of the road on the absence of non.

Don't over accelerate when in flood, if possible allow the car to move with the power on D.

Ensure to off your AC system when evee you're driving in the rain.

Aviod every bad and unfamiliar road these period.

Ensure your spare tyer, Jack and wheel spiner are in good condition in this period of the raining season because tyers carries sharp object easily this period.

Turn on your headlamp and hazard light when driving during heavy down pour both during the day and at night, this will enable drivers in the opposite direction and behind to know a vehicle is coming in front of them and in front of them respectively.

Lastly, Don't over speed on high ways because roads are very slippery and tyers easily loose grip when breaks are applied.

To all my co-pilots I wish you all safety, good health and sound mind.
