I can see you have no sense.

Let me tell you the kind of work I do. I am the Chief Operating Officer of an Engineering company. I am a Strategy person. I'm on call 24-7. For example, my boss and myself hold regular strategy meets at Silver Cafe, Ozone Center during working hours. And we do alcohol while we meet. I am free to resume and close when I want. I am even free to work from my house. I coordinate my team remotely regardless of where I am.

I just have KPIs I deliver against, every month. And I am paid well for the job. Plus I have an official vehicle and a driver. Official vehicle, not pool car.

Stop writing about things you know nothing about.

Thanks bro. I've got.

Regarding the cooperative, my mother in law back home (osun) is the one running it for us. But this is how is operates; when you join, you can only be entitled to borrow after 6months and you can borrow x2 of your savings and pay 15 naira monthly interest on every 1k (1.5% monthly interest) till you complete repayment of the loan.

I don't know if that is how it is operated everywhere. I will inquire from a colleague here in Lagos who is also into this corporative thing.
Thanks for the prompt response.
Ok I'll wait for more info bro.

Hope the hustle ia paying off?

I can't tell bro but some person will say 1m, some less and some higher. The ball is at your court. Reason i said get a competent driver first b4 going further to get the car with that both parties can rub minds.

When I was in search for a car I was even ready to make a down payment of about 200k which was to add up for the car purchase but las las negotiation didn't go through. I'm ok with what I've for the now though.

So it's all depends baba.

Chief, you mean gross. Cos net in my parlance means deductions after bolt commission and fuel used.

I don't go for pick ups above 2.5- 3km. Even at that range, rider's destination is wat will make me decide.

Cos if distance is too long, riders often are impatient ( I don't blame them, the ehsiling apps promise quick pick ups not minding the peculiar terrain of Lagos and its unpredictable traffic), they will cancel n order again.

I HV been a victim countless no of times, once I can't get to you in say 5-7 mins, I cancel strait.

Was @ CIPM road, Ikeja, got a request.
Called rider, she was @ Berger , destination: Ikeja

I had to let the trip slide. Cos the main thrust of the hustle is to make profit. That kind of trip is a sure loss.
Are you trying to confuse me or convince me that I do t know what I'm saying or not educated to know the difference btw gross and net? grin

Was @ CIPM road, Ikeja, got a request.
Called rider, she was @ Berger , destination: Ikeja

Hahaha...
See parameters:
Pickup bergar= 7.8km
Destination ikeja=6.5km
Bolt commission= 20%
Cost/km= #60
Time travel: 129min

I've used Corolla, EOD V6 and now Civic I can say from experience Honda cars are more efficient when compare to some Toyota cars in terms of fuel comsuption.
Though I learnt yaris is another Toyota brand with good fuel economy.

Here's another way to disagree with somebody.

My brother, I'm just staying let's stop denying the reality; which we do when we ask questions like "How will they recognize an e-hailing car" or "LASG should go and face the e-hailing companies' instead of disturbing drivers." Instead, let us man up and say, "this is what LASG wants, what do we do about it? How do we negotiate to our best collective interests?"

what's the HP package like, I'm thinking of getting a car for this.thank you.
In HP, what I advice prospective investors to do is get a reliable driver on ground first b4 going ahead to purchase thw car.

By so doing you must have had some level of understanding and agreement on total package, weekly remitance, duration and other contract talks.

Also, be considerate in the total package. Find around the standard then state your demands to the driver. Get a sample contract paper from people already into the business then modify to suit both of you.

If after all these is settled with good understanding and some level of trust then you can proceed to getting a good car together or better still let the driver make his choice that falls within your budget.

Carry out a comprehensive insurance, get the car registered and for for operation including the heckney permit document then make compulsory d lasdri for the driver so you dont have any stories that will affect your business.

Follow up with monthly or weekly inspection of your vehicle for the first 6months and state it on the contract.

Finally, pray for safety and progress of your business.

Good luck!!!

Baba, that's high
I drive Honda Civic 2007 and i buy 3000 fuel daily for 5 days except on rare occasions when i buy from Mobil /Conoil ,which i have since stopped because they're nothing but fraud.
With that 3k fuel, i usually gross 11,500 or 12,000 sometimes and i am fine with that.
Please have your mechanic check if your 02 sensor, fuel pump or exhaust are alright, so it won't be too much work for too little gain.
Honda civic usually comes with 1.6 -1.8 litres. The fuel economy is superb.
My sensor, exhaust and every other thing are in good check baba. I can net 15k with 3k fuel. Sometimes less if the pickup distance is far.
It all depends, long distance trip on a highway can be very rewarding.

Take for instance, 3k fuel will take me to ibadan to and fro which can net one about 25k or more.

The main killer of the job is bolt, long distance pickup and then rider cancel.

Baba, do you fill your tank with just 6k for the entire work week or 6k daily?
Sometimes daily.
Taje for instance, as I left the house this morning I went straight to the filling station where I usually buy pms; filling it cost me #4,400 with some fraction because I'd fuel in the tank b4. I started lahe today because I had to do about 20km(1hr: 29min) to visit mechanic which wasnt even around (the tin pain me reach blood) and I closed early today being Monday. b4 getting home the fuel level has gone below half tank. Tomorrow I'll have to refill again b4 going online.

Some days I buy fuel up to 10k.

100k is unfair, so e-hailing companies and e-hailing driver's should come together and negotiate it to the barest minimum with the LASG.

One trick I use when ever I want to use uber to avoid high cancellation rate is to drive to pick up point, wait for 5mins, then cancel without charging rider.

It'll never count on my cancellation rate.
So youre suggesting I drive 4-5km plus wait 5min or more then cancel without any chargeshuh You try well well babagrin

I dont want to have issue with uber in anyways because its the only reason im meeting up to my weekly target with less stress n peace.

But most riders are making it difficult for me.
Last week uber mailed me informing of how my account is been flaged for high cancellation. I mailed them back giving some justifiable reasons which was acknowledged by uber. Yet ive had about 6 cancellations afterwards due to one reason or the other, marina axis, wrong pickup address, I'd to even extend my waiting time to 10-12min b4 i cancel.

Right now as I type this mail I'm on a 5km pickup distance I've called and message rider on the app bfor I mive but rider is not picking up neither is he respinding to my messages. So im conduse now dont want to start my week with cancellation now.

What do you guys suggest please

Bros there is no IF here I can rest assure you that LASDRI and Hackney would be made compulsory, don't get carried away with talk that Uber has not yet sanctioned it that in itself is shallow because is it Uber that will determine what document is acceptable or the Government whose road you are plying.like I said I have the recording and the officer said the only requirement that is being reviewed for now is the operator license, the LASDRI and Hackney are standard and here to stay. For emphasis he clearly stated that you require a Hackney permit once you carry humans for commercial purposes which is what ehailing is all about.so if you have to get documents worth 2k and 5k for one year why not do so for peace of mind rather than paying stupid VIO fine of 20k or more for non compliance.
In that note partner owners should make every necessary document available for smooth operation of the car to the driver for remittances. But so long the uber and bolt has not ask for these documents how then do you expect partner owners to get these documents unless until the driver complains to his/her partner about disturbance by VIO then necessary understanding is needed.

Lets stop killing ourselves and bugging the thread over simple issues we all know the possible solution.

It won’t be worth while if rental is a mere 15-20k, 30 - 35k is what l expect and what l get, but l do all the repairs, drivers just drive
Oga 30-35k rental is on the high side irrespective to the fact you do all repairs. Sir, I'm on rental and my partnal does all repairs including services, it would have been a blown to me had I gotten a partnal that wants me to do services and repairs less than 10/5k which is the popular norms in the business and a cheat in reality. In the US rental has laws biding both parties, major accident, negligence caused by rentee is covered by the rentee insurance company but minor repairs when reported to renter company, scratches and dents are most times covered by the renter company.

Though, their situation is different from ours over here in Nigeria, but demanding 30-35k weekly on rental because you cover every expenses is too much Sir.

Its not business as usual, most time I get just 10k or 15k after paying my partner 25k for the week and this 10-15k I talk about self I don't see it physically because it has gone in for family runs and fueling for the next day being Monday.

Don't even think I'm not a hard working man. My daily routine is 10/11am to 1-3am the next day Mondays -Wednesdays.
Thursdays I work 11am to 4-6pm so I can rest for weekends.
Friday's 11am- Sundays 1-3am.
Sundays: 3-4pm-9-10pm.

Mind you some days I could be so tired, I dont go out at all, some days I spend time at the mechanic workshop maybe 2-4hours.

In the end of the week I observed fuelling is the major consumer of the entire money because I fill my tank about 5-6times weekly at the cost of 6k.

So, if I happened to be your driver partner tell me what I'll have left after paying you 30/35k for a car not on HPhuh Can you see how unreasonable inconsiderate and wicked that is now?

Something terrible and miraculous happened today guys.
@12pm.

I was at Oando filling station marina when this request came in.
Called rider, she said she's at the traffic light at CMS bus stop on marina. She was going to Aja.

I said okay, that she should pass the traffic light and move forward a bit so that I'll pick her up and zoom off to avoid Lastma and CBD men. She said okay.

I got there but couldn't see her, called her to know where she is, but she was just behaving like a novice.

All these while, I was equally looking out for the CBD and Lastma men, to know when to zoom off and run away.

Suddenly, a Sienna car stopped at my back so I couldn't see when Lastma might be coming again. Before I know what's happening, a Lastma van have blocked my front with over 10men in it. (some tax force were with them). the car at my back has gone by then.

I engaged reverse, but before I could move back all of them have jumped down, but I kept moving back and wanted to run away. They blocked me with their Iron, I climbed it with my two tyres(front and back), but the van blocked me. I engaged reverse again and tried to run from the right, they put that trap again I climbed it, but the van also blocked me.

If they block me on the right, cars will be passing from the left, when they block me on the left, cars will be passing from the right. This went on for over 2mins.

Over 4 of them started knocking on my glass and dragging my door to wind down and open my door, I kept telling them no, and was equally begging for them to allow me pass.

At a point I resorted to park, cos I was already causing serious traffic and they are already getting so angry with me. But then I remembered freshprince91's experience that he paid 20k, I just know that because of the stress I've already given them, my fine will be more than the 60k vio is collecting from uber drivers and decided not to give up till the break my glass and enter my car.

I tried to escape from the right, they blocked me again. I reversed and tried from the left, they also blocked me. I just raised my two hands up and said "okay I give up, I give up"; stirred fully to the right, but my gear is still on D and I was using style to observe the Lastma driver to know when to catch him off guard, while my hands are still up.

Immediately I noticed that he wasn't looking and cars are passing from the left. I just climbed the trap and sped through before he could realise and block me.

The crowd around there shouted in shock.
I matched my throttle to the carpet and zoom off.

I ran straight to VI, packed somewhere around bishop Oluwole, came down checked my tyres and my plate numbers; they're still intact, and I just Thanked my God.

Finally na madness them dey take cure madness for this Lagos.
Are you sure it's not the girl I rejected on? She goimg to Ajah but she refused to obey my rule which is "dont eat on my car" she said she's hungry I and pregnant I just calm.down. just about driving out of the oando filling station the guy with her requested I wait let him buy food inside the eatery saying he too is hungry.

I just ended trip, going to Ajah at towards that evening self was a journey I didnt wang to embark on cos of the traffic an road construction going on. When they highlighted I look bae belle her belle flat pass carbin biscuit self.

I just hissed!

What I do in that marina is I don't stop, neither so I wait a second I just drive slowly turning round and round till I get a request.
And once the request comes I tell the rider to be at the point because I won't wait else I cancel.

I’ve noticed quite a few drivers have a chip on their shoulder about this job, some feel inadequate, some drivers feel riders look down on them .
Who cares, just give a good service have future plans, and of course pray,

Yesterday, as I was to pass through fortunately it was the same guy that gave me the note. Giving him the same money the guy siezed the money saying no change for me unless I bring another one. He never accepted he gave me the money (of course what proof do I've after all?) They suceeded in wasting my time even their oga at the customer care office stood in support of him. I'd to guve him another 1k note b4 I was able to continue my trip.

But thank God I'd the last laugh at the end of the day, I used the same money to pay passing through in my next toll.

So guys always look every note they give you as change each time you pass. If you're not ok with it reject it instantly.

Also, always make sure you collect receipt each time you pass the toll gate just for evident should your toll not included in the total fare. Two weeks back I lost 200box using the ecard on lekki toll gate, no receipt is printed each time I use the card, uber requested I take a photo of the receipt but I'd not evidence I just let it slide though.

Lastly, always check for the time and date printed on the ticket given to you for evidence purpose because should your fare not be included those r the information uber needs to refund you. Make sure these 2 information tallys as when you pass the toll gate. Most cases I've been tickets printed 5min 10min backwards.

To before warn is to before arm.

I am. Though this one is not vacation, it's punishment! The things we do for our children!

It's my staff needing assistance so they called me. Usual guy unreachable.
And all these time I'd always thought you're white.
