Celebrities / Re: The Untold Story:wizkid/bankyw by fELiscatus: 5:33pm On Mar 22, 2013
lexiie: Months back, when Banky W smiled at cameras in a press parley and said Wizkid was his retirement plan, he definitely did not know a rude shock was just by the corner.

What the heck?

This Banky W no try o.
I had a feeling he was just milking Wizkid all the while he was on EME records.
I support Wizkid leaving Banky's record label. Even if he is not as successful as he was on EME it is still ok because at least he is no longer some body's cash cow.

I hope this story isn't true because e go get as e be.

And see how the shameless girl is shining her dirty teeth in spite of the disgusting thing she did. Taking advantage of a small, younger child like that.

Why can't we Africans start using our local leaves (ugwu, waterleaf and ewedu) as gifts the way foreigners use roses? We don't have to follow the oyibo people in everything they do. We can use our local leaves since we have excess of them.....

waleadex: What happened to you the last time you cried?

I cried last on the 8th of March 2013. It was a real tears fest.
Reason was because I failed to acheive something I was planning to get for ages.

Like a cold summer afternoon, like the snow coming down in June, like a wedding without a groom; I'm missing you.
I'm the desert without the sand, you're the woman without a man, I'm the ring without a hand; I'm missing you.

I meant that a lady/guy might just appreciate the beauty/handsomeness of the other without harbouring any s.exual thoughts. Just like how we admire the beauty of a good piece of art.

Yes, like when you find it attractive or physically appealing.

toba: I agree with the latter part of your post regarding inner qualities. However, the 'out of the abundance of the heart' quote from the bible suffices in many cases. The inner qualities are revealed through outer qualities yes or no? You can atleast decipher who i am by reading my posts on NL to some extent. This is it. more than 60% of the characters being potrayed on NL represents real world characters. Someone who shows kindness must definitely be a kind person.

You can only guess what a person is like inside by simply looking at their outward appearance.
You can only guess.
Guess, and not know for a fact.
So whatever inner qualities you think they possess after looking at them for the first time in your life is just guesswork.
You truly love something when you truly know it. Not when you make guesses about what it is or what it is like.

Toba, let us agree to disagree why don't we, you can choose to believe that love at first sight is possible and I can choose to believe otherwise.
No qualms.
I don't have any desire to argue this thing any further smiley

CFCfan:

But I think lust is too harsh a word to describe the initial attraction.

Some lady might be attracted to the outward handsomeness of a man, and not necessarily have sexual thoughts of him; and vice versa.

Okay sure.
Attraction/lust/whatever you name it.
It is not love, is what my point is.

There you go.
I just obliterated the theory of 'love at first sight' cool
Religion / Re: Nairaland Christian Singles Thread (no Holds Barred) by fELiscatus: 11:01pm On Mar 20, 2013
toba: u want to put me in a tight corner. My bro, there's no one world accepted definition of love, as love means different things to different pple. There're some aspect of love that we must agree with in common.

There is no love at first sight.
You can truly love a person either because of both their inner and outer qualities or because of their inner qualities alone.
Inner is crucial here.
When you love a person based on only their outer qualities then that my man, is LUST. Not love.
And you cannot love the inner qualities of a person you are seeing for the first time in your life because you don't know what they have on the inside.

toba: i disagree. Must i see someone more tban once to fall in love with the person?

What is your definition of love? Maybe it is different from mine because my own definition of love makes it impossible for it to be felt for somebody you are just seeing for the first time in your life.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Corn With Allah's Inscription On It by fELiscatus: 7:39pm On Mar 20, 2013
There is no source or information attached to the picture of the corn. It could be a painting.
There should be some type of data telling us that the corn was discovered with the inscription on it before we consider taking it as a miracle.

LagosShia:
There were battles.but the phrase "jihad was waged against these tribes" can be misleading.Islamophobes tend to portray these tribes as the "victims" of an assault by the Prophet (sa) and the muslims were the "aggressors".that is far from true.take it as a principle:the Prophet (sa) only raised the sword to defend himself or to ward off agression, which can be seen as "pre-emptive" measure against the aggressors and offenders.those tribes showed enmity to Islam and schemed to harm the muslims and eliminate them.
Wow, you just knew what I was going to bring up smiley

My dear, there is certainly love at first sight. Some people immediately develop a liking for one another in an instant. I think I've had that experience.
Lust is another issue altogether.
I am curious. What made you sure that what you were feeling was love and not lust?
