Have you done your biometrics? If not, I strongly advise you cancel that application and redo it. I know a few people here that was handed a 10yrs ban because they didn’t declare their previous visa refusal.

My only advice is to please declare that you had been refused visa in the past, state why. They like honesty. If you leave out this information it may lead to them banning you for 10yrs.
Regarding your business account, please open a personal account then pay yourself a monthly salary from that account.

Good morning gurus in the house, please I need to know my chance of getting a 2years Visa. I run my personal business registered with CAC for close to 2 yrs now. Must I include a tax clearance receipt in my application? Also I was denied UK Student Visa in 2009 do I need to indicate that as it is over 10 year? Or better still can someone help with what and what I will be attaching to get a better chance.

If you applied for a 10yrs validity it will take like 3 months to be dispatched to you. But if it’s a 5 yrs validity passport, you supposed to get it within 2 to 3 weeks. I did mine last year and it’s 2 weeks I received it, 5yrs though

No i didn't, but someone actually ask me to since I recharged my prepaid online there's not way I could get receipts.

The only thing I added was the screenshot of email I received monthly from LIRS tax office

Thank you for your response. Tbh i can't retrieve the rent receipt and the utility bill is not in my name so i thought it better to leave it out. I have always submitted utility bill tho but i moved apartments. All other documents are in order i believe. I do have an extensive travel history to UK, schengen countries, US and canada. i have a current valid US visa (used a few times) and a used valid canada visa. I don't know if to risk it

I made two visit Applications in 2018/2019, but both were refused. I gave it a break, tried again in 2022, and it was refused again.

A UK solicitor prepared the 2022 application. I submitted about 589 pages of documents, and the ECO didn’t check my documents at all because it was a lot, and the refusal could have been avoided.

We decided to challenge the refusal.

Submitted the Visit Application in June 2022- Refusal in September 2022. Refused under 4.2 (a) (c) and (e).


1st PAP sent October 2022, Home Office agreed to reconsider the application, and they’d reach out within three months. The application was re-refused in January 2023. ECO agreed I had funds, so the refusal under Paragraph (e) was rescinded but refused on other grounds that weren’t credible.

2nd Pap sent in February 2023, Solicitor argued the ECO could not continue shifting the goal post, that since I met the requirements under Paragraph(e), it made no sense to refuse under (a/c) when my travel history is considered. The Home Office agreed to reconsider the application.

Last Tuesday, I got an email to re-submit my passport that the refusal was overturned. I submitted it on Wednesday.

I got a pickup email on Friday.

I picked up my passport today with a six months visa.

It took nine months to get them to overturn the decision, and it cost £2700.

Advice: Have another country thats easier as backup eg Mexico, Brazil. I dont think birth tourism is legal in the US.

In my opinion, anyone applying for IW appointment in Lagos should consider Isolo DHL's office and I have my reasons. Isolo is the DHL's HQ in Lagos and Nigeria. Sorting and onward conveyance of parcels are done at Isolo, regardless of urgency of such parcels for in-bound and out-bound deliveries if you apply at Isolo, chances are, that you'd get your passport back faster cos your documents won't be taken elsewhere but straight to the embassy. In fact, your case could be updated at the embassy within 24 hours of submission.

They now charge 4,500 for drop off and pick up at Isolo. I think it was started early this month. I got a mail a few days after I submitted my passports on the commencement of the 4,500 charge. I only paid 4,500 once though. The mail said they'd be charging 4,500 both ways but it only affected those of us who submitted passports in march once cos we didn't pay any money when submitting documents. The development came after submission so, it skipped us.

I had my B1/B2 interview yesterday 18th Apr and my visa was denied along with my wife and my 3yrs old baby.

Location: U.S embassy Lagos

Our interview timing scheduled for 7:30 a.m we reach embassy around 5:45am, soon the security screening started and people started lining up according to the timing slot. We were lined up and like 70 other applicant were in front of us. But due to the fact that we had a baby, the security guys gave us expedite service and we were brought to the front row for the security check.

Fast forward getting to the interview hall. Also many applicants were aiidy lined up. Again they gave us expedite services and we were lined up to the front when they want to check our documents. The guy collected our passport and after checking all our docs. He asked me hw old is our baby and I said 2 n half years old, he then insert a pink carbon paper inside my baby's passport that we can show them on the next queue so they will attend to us fast.

Again they place us in the front to have our biometric. It was a white woman who did our biometric, and told us my baby won't need to do biometric .. but my baby insist she wanna do biometric and started disturbing us.

Now, after biometric and again they took us to counter window 5. It was a black America lady.
She approves the 2 guys in front of us for F1 visa.

Me: (gave all our 3 passports)
VO: (first question asking me) have you travelled before?
Me: Yes, have been to India and Dubai.

Me: I'm going to the United state for the 2023 Midwest Travel Network conference which is coming up in Kansas city...and as a travel Manager in my company.. my company is sending me for....(VO cuts in)

Me: Midwest Travel Network conference, and I try to expatiate on it further. (keeps typing)

VO: who is sponsoring you?
Me: my company will be sponsoring my trip and I will sponsor my wife and my kids

VO: is company sponsoring ur family also?
Me: No, I will be responsible for my wife and my kid.

VO: how long will you be staying?
Me: 2 weeks

VO keeps typing... for another 1-2mins and turns to my wife.
VO: What do you do?
My wife: I have a restaurant which I run and I have some staffs there
VO: (keeps typing) and ask my wife again
are you seeking any medical attention.
My wife: No...
VO: You are not going for any medical attention?
We both answer together: NO
VO: keeps typing again for long time......

VO: Sorry but you are not qualified at this time
She hands us the blue paper (214B)

Me: Thanks and we left.

Note: we have all documents intact all letters from my company, payment receipt for the conference, invitation letter, bank statement both company and my personal statement.
She didn't give us any chance to present any of the documents.

What really went wrong in case of another time.
