Foodempire: I'm just so tired of the exorbitant fee on the band A. I spend 90k/100k per month. I only put on just one AC 1&half horse power for three hours in a day, I have to stop using the other four AC. 4 ceiling fans-2 wall fan for 15 hrs, 1 TV for like 14 hrs, 22 bulbs,1 fridge, occasional use of washing machine, pumping machine and air fryer.
Is this normal? It's is so draining, just like I'm paying a house rent in my own house. Could this be as a result of bad wiring or na so everyone dey feel am.
BafanaBafana: From my experience, if you stay alone, eating out is cheaper. If you doubt it, calculate the actual cost of preparing a meal, check how many times you will eat that meal and then compare how much it will cost you to buy that number of plates of the same quality of meal outside.
Further more, consider the time and labor cost. You go to the market to buy food stuff Prepare to cook Do the cooking. Be cleaning while cooking. Go out to a nearby shop to buy something you forgot to buy in the market. Finish cooking. Wash the dishes after eating.
All these after buying food stuff with your money o Meanwhile if you go to a restaurant, all you do is eat and leave.
So gents, eating out is way cheaper.
Eating out is expensive even if you stay alone

BlindAngel: Hello Nairalanders, as y'all can see from my previous threads, I bought a 2008 toyota camry July last year, the fuel consumption was something else and totally out of this world, I went from mechanic to mechanic, to detect and get It resolved, but the fault remained the same, nothing changed. So August last year, I bought a 2012 corolla, but it seems It also consume fuel which I didn't realized until I stormed upon a thread here on Nairaland, I came to this conclusion when I saw a thread on Nairaland titled "how much fuel per km does your car consume" I clicked on the thread and read all the comments and to my surprise, my corolla consume more fuel than those using v6 cars, a guy commented that his Toyota Venza goes 490 miles for 40k fuel, which is approximately 42 liters, I saw another comment where a guy stated that his camry goes 270km for 20k fuel.
Whereas my 2012 corolla goes 150km for 30k fuel which is approximately 31L of fuel. This Is the 5th time I have timed and calculated it's fuel consumption, the first I got 150km for 30k fuel, the second I got 144km for 30k fuel, the third I got 152km on 30k fuel, the forth, I got 146km on 30k fuel and the last which was four days ago, I got 149km on 30k fuel. I used "km" because my corolla gas milage reads in km and not miles.
Nevertheless, upon realizing this, I got a Nigerian used 2008 camry yesterday, the engine Is in great shape "very silent" but my mechanic I went with to purchase It warned me that there's no catalyst on it, In which I still proceeded in purchasing it, as I intended buying a catalyst for it tomorrow morning. I'm yet to test it's fuel consumption because I'm unable to drive It yet because my papers are not yet ready.
I have not sold my 2012 corolla yet, I told myself that If it consumes just like the corolla or consumes slightly just above the corolla, then I would sell my corolla, but If it consumes far more than the corolla then I would sell the newly bought camry and continue using my corolla.
For those using the 2007, 2008 or probably 2009 camry, what's your fuel consumption How many miles/km does your car goes per liter
Below are the pictures of my corolla and my newly bought camry.
Go for what will not empty your pocket. Remember, the devil you know...
MC Oluomo’s daughter clocked 30 in style—and walked right into forever.
What started as a surprise birthday bash turned into a heart-melting proposal that no one saw coming, especially not the celebrant. In the middle of the festivities, her man went down on one knee, and the room erupted. Shocked and overwhelmed, she literally sat on the stage floor, catching her breath as friends surrounded her, chanting,
She said yes. But not before giving us a moment—pure, unfiltered emotion, the kind you don’t stage.
And if you’re wondering what kind of man pulls off this kind of move, here’s what she had to say after the proposal:
atoliman: Being a single mum is not a death sentence or sentence to remain single for forever. Off course a single mum priority is going to be her children, what do one expect when you are dating one? To cook rice for you and buy you beer while her children are hungry. if you have sex with one, expect billings- It is what comes with the terrority. if you do not want date one, leave them alone. Let them find someone who wants to date them

Senior ANC members want to convince the billionaire Patrice Motsepe to make himself available to stand as the party’s next president.
Rapport cited two well-placed sources who said many ANC members have been trying to convince Motsepe to enter politics for some time.
They have even designed a flyer with Motsepe as incoming ANC President, Senzo Mchunu as incoming Deputy President, and Oscar Mabuyane as incoming Secretary General.
However, the sources highlighted that it is still early days and that there is a long road ahead before the next ANC National Conference in 2027.
Sunday World reported that the leadership race is in full swing despite warnings from ANC secretary general Fikile Mbalula.
Mbalula highlighted the principle that no one is allowed to engage or promote themselves in the name of the ANC for any position in the build-up to the 2027 national conference.
“Anyone engaging in leadership contestations and discussions outside the agreed approach will face the consequences and be subjected to disciplinary processes,” he said.
Deputy President Paul Mashatile, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, and Fikile Mbalula are other potential candidates for the ANC president position.
WHO IS PATRICE MOTSEPE?
Billionaire businessman Patrice Motsepe is a dark horse in the race for ANC President. However, this is not far-fetched.
Motsepe has close ties with the ANC and has supported the political party for decades. He is also President Cyril Ramaphosa’s brother-in-law.
He has built an incredible business empire with assets in mining, the finance industry, telecommunications, and sports.
His business success belies the fact that he had a humble upbringing without the luxuries many of his fellow billionaires enjoyed as children.
Motsepe was born in South Africa in the early 1960s, where he grew up in Ga-Rankuwa during the height of Apartheid oppression.
His father was a schoolteacher and owned a tuck shop. Here, Motsepe was taught basic business skills. He was also exposed to miners, who often frequented the store.
This helped him to create a business empire which stretches across Africa, with a strong focus on mining.
His business acumen has been widely recognised, and in 2002, the chief executive officers of the top 100 companies in South Africa voted him South Africa’s Business Leader of the Year.
He also won the Ernst & Young Best Entrepreneur of the Year Award. In 2017, Forbes Magazine honoured Motsepe as one of the “100 Greatest Living Business Minds” in the world.
Motsepe’s success in the business world and his humble roots will resonate with South Africa’s voting population, especially through his ties with soccer.
He is the president and owner of the Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club and was elected president of the Confederation of African Football in 2021.
These organisations are considered well run and successful, and voters will see Motsepe as having the potential to translate this success into the political world.
He should just go ...running caf to favour Southern n Northern countries

I started a backyard poultry last christmas. I made some money not even to the breakeven point cos I lost some birds to hot temperature. early this year I purchased 10 chicks. I raised them in cage. unfortunately I lost 4 to ants. the cage was mounted by soldier ant (yoruba's call them Erun)
after waking up that morning I quickly went to check them because it rained over night. those ant move in squad. I have to kill them with petrol.
please how can i avoid this in future. because I'm planning to start in large quantity. we moving to our farm land soon and its surrounded with bushes
Use Neem leaves or oil can repel ants
Local herbs like African basil or lemon grass may also help deter ants
Coop Design - Use raised coops or platforms to reduce ant access - Seal gaps and holes with local materials like mud or cement
- Keep the coop area clean and dry - Remove weeds and debris around the coop
