Good Day, Thank you for the reply. My specialisation is in Mechanical Engineering (SAQA NQF level Eight). Both Mechanical Engineer and Mechanical Engineering Technologist appear on the CSV list now im perplexed on which one to choose. Do employers/companies in SA really give much thought into this, whether your visa says engineer or technologist?
Good then you can choose Mechanical engineering Technologist because of your ECSA certificate. I applied as Mechanical Engineering Technician in CSV because of my ECSA stated candidate mechanical engineering technician.

I am an engineer with over 3years of professional experience. Saqa has evaluated my honours degree to be equivalent to the SA standard but the engineering council had me registered as a technologist not as a engineer. In light of this should i apply for Critical skills Visa as a technologist or as Engineer ,Bearing in mind i have three years of experience as an Engineer and my saqa attest to this.

Also what are the chances of me getting a masters scholarship for part time study as a foreigner on a work visa.
Good day Bros, how u dey? Forget about scholarship as per-time student. As per your critical skills you need to think very well o. Whats is your area of specialization. i mean mechanical/civil/electrical/computer etc.

OK, that's how I got an email from IQAS on August 3, that they have my documents and my file has been placed in line for processing. Only for me to get a call from my office that I have a mail from IQAS, and also got an email from IQAS, that my evaluation has been concluded....
I was shocked... That was damn too fast and efficient.
I wonder why some people still use WES tho.
Thanks iphie25 and everyone.
So I have my ielts and ECA now, please what next..

Bros where and when did you do the certified copy for #20 each?

I don't think advising pple to go on asylum is a good thing, it is a slap on the dignity of any man and the country of origin
Bros I did not advice him and I will never advice anyone to seek asylum because people that on it are not free to visit their country unless they want to go back.

Your bank statement in your name because you are working.

It depends on the programme. Some departments in UKZN have an agreement with a third party based in the UK who assist with the transcript verification exercise at no extra cost to the candidate.

I intend to apply for a critical skills visa in the coming weeks from here in nigeria. I could be greatful if anyone explains to me what exactly im i supposed to submit to show proof of sufficient financial means. Ok i know im suppose to submit bank statements but .......
1. In whose name should the bank statements be on, Myself or the host?
2. Should it be a SA or Naija issued bank statement?

If anyone has successfully applied for this visa it could be helpful if they share what kind of documents they submitted to show proof of financial means.
Guy to get critical skills work visa 1. You must have experience in critical skill list 2. You must register with professional body in your filed. 3. Then you must SAQA.

for the sake of your ignorance, I can not count the number of people have helped on this thread to get visas, people PM and I am fast to reply and give my whatsapp number, have helped people on this thread with accommodation papers, how they will go about it, When Femiaction was in doubt of his critical skills and the approval in lagos, I was in doubt too, but when someone i knew got his in Lagos I called Femiaction in Nigeria to tell him the success story of the person just to encourage him. I do it for humanity and not for human gratification. so when u talk thrash about people, mind who u talk about cos this is a faceless forum. some guys here dont even know who I am but later they find out somehow.
Please my people its all right about this issue. Its true that mr staggerlee contrituted to d succes of my critical skill work permit. I checked my whatApp and I saw his contributions towards the success of the permit. If you want to come to study in SA you need to plan very well. I am doing my master in SA now. Its a plus for me and what God has started in my family it so wonderful. God show mercy on me and my family since we came to SA. I will share my testimonies in due time. I am not coming back to nigeria because since i came to Durban past seven months now there is 24/7 electricity. But d only problem here in durban and SA is crime and i belived is every where in d world. Thanks . LET WORK AS ONE. PLEASE

I laugh at your folly for you to think I am pained about the system. I have benefitted so much in the system. I have a very good job, my job takes me round the globe, same with my wife who even has a better job than I do. But I won't use my situation to categorise every other person. By the grace of God in a couple of weeks am bringing pple into SA from naija to come and train. Mechanical engineers (Nigerians) I think I sent femi the info, so bros am doing quite well. SA has done a lot for me and I have also done lot for SA. Like a guy said, someone had cumlade yet can't get a job, I know tens like dat. So don't ever think pple here that rant are frustrated we just say it as it is
You said I think I sent femi the info. I did not see any info. I need the info. Thanks

I find some untruths in yours story, first I find it hard to gulp that you pay rent of R2000 in todays SA, with electricty when electricity went up April 1st by 9.4%. U must be staying in a bush or one township like Kayaleisha. I have never doubted the fact that u can't get scholarships but how many do get? And also for what courses? Is it available to every foreigner in every field? You shout critical skills WP, have you joined ECSA, do u know the stress to get critical skills now compared to getting exceptional skills WP, 3 years ago. Look at the new immigration act of 2014, you can't work in ESKOM unless u have an I.D that is a PR holder. You can't be in any govt parastital with WP unless u are a consultant. You claim to have gotten NRF, how many do get it? Your case is an exception not the norm. U claim to earn 4.5 per month as a tutor, do u earn this amount in jan, feb, june, july, nov, dec? Don't come here and paint sa like its one heaven abeg.
Mr staggerlee please not everybody tells lies okay. What shine1177 said was truth.(As per his accommodation is staying in DURBAN CITY and not bush nor township as you said) This forum is for us to share our experiences not to discourage people. Sir there is no any stress to get critical work permit when you have all necessary document required for the permit and God's favour. Then less i forget you said you are doing your PhD in SA now, i believe you can still continue with your program in Nigerian now to join your friends and enjoying what they are enjoying at home. I know there is no job in SA not even in Nigeria and throughout the world. But you are not the position to discourage people because you are still in the same country that you are condemning. Please share your experience and your testimonies not to discourage people. As far as people are coming on academic ground please don't discourage them because you are a student there. Thanks.

Things are a bit harder with critical skills as compared to when its exceptional skills. It is expected that within a year of your critical skills you are gainfully employed, after the employment yo can apply for PR. You will @ one point, might need publications for your PR applications but under critical skills am not sure its compulsory. What is more compulsory is letter from a body and work references.

BTW, what visa are u using to study?
critical skills work permit.

Its a long long process but its possible. During my time, I did masters in electrical engineering and started my PHD, I applied for exceptional work permit. I got a letter from my supervisor plus my publications and some other things and I applied, thankfully I got it. With exceptional skills visa you can apply for a Permanent Residence Permit and I got in.
But now you have to get a Critical work visa which u need to join a professional body and the body gives u a letter with that letter you take other docs like publications and so on you apply for the critical skills. With critical skills, after 1 year u can apply for PR. Or wait till you get a PHD and apply for PR.
Mind u, your chances of getting all these visas depends on course of study. Your best bet is Sceience Tech Engineering or Medicine with a minimum of Masters degree
Hello brother. Thanks for your assistance in this forum. Sir i have critical skill work permit which i got from nigeria. I am currently doing my masters in mechanical engineering@ ukzn and I don't have any publication yet then I want to apply for my PR.

Am going for thesis based, MSc financial and risk management!! I guess that's not research based.
Did you mean course/class work? If you are going to receive lectures. Then there is no scholarship for course work. You have to pay for your tuition fee. If it is Research then you can get full scholarship in the universities mentioned above. Thanks

Please is it possible for someone going for MSc in Sa to get full scholarship with a Cgpa of 4.1 for Msc in financial risk management?
You can get full scholarship in university of Kwazulu-natal or Durban university of Technology not because of Your CGPA but if you are ready to do your masters by RESEARCH. Get your transcripts, Bsc certificate, your SAQA and your Research proposal. Thanks.

Hello Tokyobull see these two statements valid till 26th and now valid still 3rd Feb. Well if you overstasy you will pay fine. Thanks

Just a follow up to this question/answer. I applied for visit visa and VFS told me I do not need a new visa for this travel. I travelled yesterday and am now in Johannesburg. The visa is valid as long as you are not staying for more days than initially approved and you enter before expiration. Thanks @femiaction for your assistance.
How many days you got from immigration at airport? Because your visa will expire on 26th January. If you stay beyond your valid visa you will pay for overstasy. Thanks
