Given the organic nature of Obidient movement in 2023, if structuring was immediately and intentionally done from LGAs to Senatorial zones to states after the elections, there wouldn't have been need for mobilisation. Without Nigerian grassroot coaches who do the work sophiscated academies do in advanced countries, Nigeria football wouldn't have gone anywhere and many footballers wouldn't have realised their dreams. Once players are maturing and talent starts showing, foreign scouts steal them and they travel without knowledge of these coaches. Do you know what they often get in return: discarded Jerseys and boots and a handout like beggars. FIFA recognises them and they are entitled to a compensation but NFF has no structure to implement this.

Look, my submission is not about Amunike because he actually benefited from the hardwork of these grassroots coaches to boost his CV.

Osimhen is not known today because he grew up poor. He is not known because he lived in Olusosun. He is known because of his fine footballing skills and he was been interviewed based on that.
