I agree with you to an extent. However, democracy is a game of number and a popularity test. In democracy, a POPULAR tout down the road will easily beat an unpopular professor. That's the harsh reality.

I don't have problem with Seyi Tinubu becoming Governor of Lagos State. Look, if he presents a better road map with clear solution ideas for making the state truly a semblance of a mega city, he will have my one vote. Trust me.

Interestingly, GEJ in the last 10 years, he is out of office, has never shown any indication that he has taken his time to develop better SOLUTIONS to various problems of Nigeria. No evidence that he now has the requisite vision and roadmap for a prosperous Nigeria.

Why do Nigeria fall into the hands of unprepared persons as President. In 1979, Maitama Sule was prepared but Shehu Shagari was chosen. Obasanjo wanted to go home to his wife after his prison time but was recruited to be President. Umaru Yar'adua wanted to retire to take care of his failing health but was recruited by Obasanjo as successor. Jonathan was a naive Deputy Governor who became naive harmless VP but has to become president following Yar'adua's death. Buhari came empty-headed but was hoping that his integrity will do the magic. Well, it didn't. Then Tinubu came visionless hoping that taxing people will do the magic. Well, the situation has become worse.

And now Goodluck Jonathan is now being begged to ... when better alternatives exist.

So sad.

A big man in Abuja ordered for these Tinubu caps to be made and distributed to these political slaves to wear compulsorily. And now they look like palace jesters.

Any president who goes into Aso Villa without a vision and road map and hoping that random people appointed as ministers will give him ideas will offer little or nothing as accomplishments.

Meanwhile, none of the past presidents of Nigeria came prepared with vision and road map for the office. From

- Olusegun Obasanjo who was recruited from prison unprepared by exiting military Junta for some inexplicable reasons
- to late Umaru Yar'adua who wanted to retire to a university campus to take care of his health but was selfishly recruited by Obasanjo
- to Goodluck Jonathan who was a passive VP before the death of Yar'adua threw him forward,
- to late fragile Muhammadu Buhari who came with almost questionable intellect and fell sick under the pressure of office
- and to Bola Tinubu who although coveted power for long, still came disappointingly without any clear road map.

People must begin to know that a president is not the only decision makers in Nigeria. This is a country where a president was dad for weeks and everyone around in in the know denied it. They had to put out the light at the airport T bring him in before they declared that he was dead.

Every report of Oronsaye? People must really think that past presidents didn’t want to implement it. The fear is sacrosanct. There are push backs. There are forces bigger than the president himself. Does the president know the feelings of the soldiers? Does he know the feelings of the senate and others.

Obi is clearly a desperate guy who wants to be a president by all means else he won’t say that he doesn’t need more than 4 years to fix Nigeria problems. How??

Take it or leave it. No sane Nigerian North, South, East and West will oppose any good and transparently sincere policies of government. if you any action plan to help agricultural activities and good processing in the North or plan to tap the marine resources of Nigeria Delta, no Nigerian will oppose it. If you release a regime of incentives to encourage establishment of industries and SMEs, nobody will oppose it. If you reduce the number of ministers to 36 as provided by the constitution, nobody will oppose. If you expand port operations to other regions of Nigeria, nobody will oppose.

Nigerians are not stupid. It is only that the bar is low at the moment.

It's too easy to dream, easier to fathom, like a child driving a car with his mouth. By the tangled system under which the country operates, you can't do anything by mere paper policy until you get in there and discover it takes more than empty promises. Soludo would have turned Anambra to Dubai by now or Otti would have payed off outstanding salaries, even increased civil servants salaries threefolds the old payments. They now understand better being on the hot seat, electioneering is a different kettle of fish.
The best way out is the constitutional process presently ongoing under the current administration. The President understands that a new constitution with the framework of a true federalism is the only panacea out of the status quo. And that's what the executive are determined to give to Nigerians very soon. Where every state can operate in a fair and equitable system.

By the way, it will be the biggest tragedy if Peter Obi along with his think tank hasn't by now developed a roadmap to solve Nigeria's numerous problems. I hope he does.
