TenQ:I agree with you to an extent. However, democracy is a game of number and a popularity test. In democracy, a POPULAR tout down the road will easily beat an unpopular professor. That's the harsh reality. |
Hespee93:I don't have problem with Seyi Tinubu becoming Governor of Lagos State. Look, if he presents a better road map with clear solution ideas for making the state truly a semblance of a mega city, he will have my one vote. Trust me. |
Gotocourt:Money na water! ![]() |
Ajalalomo:Never in doubt but Davido is the one under discussion here. Thanks, though. |
TenQ:What "exactly qualities" made his uncle a good governoship candiate and currently the govrtn9r of Osun State? I don't have celebrity crush on him but I like the fact that he is a hardworking and prolific musician in spite of being a son of a billionaire. |
Davido the future Osun State Governor. May God keep and protect you for us. It must be said that Cubana Chief Priest has gone to high places through his friendship with Davido. Nice! |
Victor Boniface and his agent should sit and replan his career. Obviously, his career journey has taken a new turn because of injuries and its scars. I pray he achieves fitness and the target body weight as well as impress this new coach to at least play more games before the season ends to facilitate favourable transfer in summer next year. |
Look, the fact that Regina recorded Ned Nwoko RAW while urinating early in the morning in his own house and posted it online is all you need to confirm that she uses drug. We are talking about a prince, a Senator of the Federal Republic and a billionaire here. Yes, she sacrificed the crucial period she should have used for youthful adventures and experimentation on Ned's bed, but she can't eat her cake and have it. So, she needs to clean herself up before she crosses the door of no return. She needs an urgent timeout in Rehab and thereafter find an engaging and productive activity to keep herself busy. Being naive, having access to money and being idle makes her an ideal and easy candidate for wicked and exploitative drug peddlers. |
NOA is idle. It is another source of leakage. This agency needs to be scrapped ASAP. |
These statistics are heavily pregnant and optically worrying . I don't know men ... |
Make dem kuku buy food for all detainees in their cells all over the country. That's their immediate primary customers. ![]() |
May God bless his hustle. He has paid his dues. Good to see he is fit and healthy too. |
Deserving an award at pass-out ceremony. A leader always shows himself. |
It will be good if Abubakar Atiku would not just criticise or highlight the failures of President Tinubu but go a step further to give a snippet of what and how he would do things differently and better if given chance. That's how OPPOSITION works. |
In these days when young women spread legs for a meat pie and bottle of soda or will even sleep overnight for a decent plate of good food, Mrs Nonye Soludo's statement of fidelity to badmouthed but lucky Charles Soludo is a testimony that should be celebrated rather laighed at. Meanwhile, politically speaking, APGA is still nke anyi and Governor Soludo will win to continue his own idea of developing Anambra State. |
stancydg:Go ahead, pls. |
iwaeda:Jonathan didn't diversify the economic base of Nigeria the last time. There is limit to what a team of ministers and advisers/assistants would do if the team leader came without the vital VISION and ROAD MAP. |
Don't abuse, bully, deliberately insult/provoke, fight, or wish harm to Nairaland members OR THEIR TRIBES. |
Nigeria is a funny place with leadership bar at lowest point. Otherwise how can anyone justify the fact that Goodluck Jonathan is being BEGGED to run for President again. Interestingly, GEJ in the last 10 years, he is out of office, has never shown any indication that he has taken his time to develop better SOLUTIONS to various problems of Nigeria. No evidence that he now has the requisite vision and roadmap for a prosperous Nigeria. Why do Nigeria fall into the hands of unprepared persons as President. In 1979, Maitama Sule was prepared but Shehu Shagari was chosen. Obasanjo wanted to go home to his wife after his prison time but was recruited to be President. Umaru Yar'adua wanted to retire to take care of his failing health but was recruited by Obasanjo as successor. Jonathan was a naive Deputy Governor who became naive harmless VP but has to become president following Yar'adua's death. Buhari came empty-headed but was hoping that his integrity will do the magic. Well, it didn't. Then Tinubu came visionless hoping that taxing people will do the magic. Well, the situation has become worse. And now Goodluck Jonathan is now being begged to ... when better alternatives exist. So sad. |
A big man in Abuja ordered for these Tinubu caps to be made and distributed to these political slaves to wear compulsorily. And now they look like palace jesters. |
It is politicians that should undergo this screening. Most of them are lunatics in agbada. |
Negative stereotyping. Africa don suffer. Abi na curse? |
If there is somebody who teaches values that contradict our common societal values, the onus is on Government to shut that person and his negative values down before it take roots. That's where National Orientation Agency comes in. GEH GEH shenanigans should be shut immediately for selfishly exploiting gullible menfolk to make money like the other Shola. Afterall, critics of FG policies are invited and interrogated by DSS. Moreover, government of Obasanjo stopped Pastor Chris' Atmosphere for Miracles TV program because it was viewed as manipulative. And so I maintain that GEH GEH shenanigans should be shut immediately. |
Easy choice! Welcome back home to your family, Eberechi. You are a worthy gunner. The story continues where it stopped. Once a gunner, always a gunner. Sorry, Spurs! Look for another player. |
This new Alaafin brought war with him to the throne. He wants to recover the influence and authority which the Alaafin of the old wielded. Unfortunately, in this age, the traditional monarchical authorities are under the control of elected politicians who now have the powers to enthrone and dethrone. The current nationally recognised preeminence of Ooni of Ife cannot be removed by this gra gra by the new Alaafin. Yes, the history books have the enviable tales of the rise and fall of great OYO EMPIRE but we are in a different period now. He needs to be less confrontational as he is painting himself more of a THUG on the throne than a royal father. |
The truth is that any president who will transform Nigeria must step into Aso Villa with a vision. And carefully articulated road map ( not party manifesto) containing action plans, reforms, programs, to tackle critical problems of Nigeria and lay foundation for economic prosperity. Any president who goes into Aso Villa without a vision and road map and hoping that random people appointed as ministers will give him ideas will offer little or nothing as accomplishments. Meanwhile, none of the past presidents of Nigeria came prepared with vision and road map for the office. From -Late Shehu Shagari who preferred to go the parliament but was drafted over the better qualified, competent and prepared late Maitama Sule by hawks in NPN - Olusegun Obasanjo who was recruited from prison unprepared by exiting military Junta for some inexplicable reasons - to late Umaru Yar'adua who wanted to retire to a university campus to take care of his health but was selfishly recruited by Obasanjo - to Goodluck Jonathan who was a passive VP before the death of Yar'adua threw him forward, - to late fragile Muhammadu Buhari who came with almost questionable intellect and fell sick under the pressure of office - and to Bola Tinubu who although coveted power for long, still came disappointingly without any clear road map. - And gen...gen... the current attempt to convince uninterested Goodluck Jonathan to become interested and sleepwalk once again into Aso Villa. |
Arewa Twitter is a twitter handle operated by one man who also like Waspapping hustles for PR money to put on table. Arewa Twitter posts have nothing to do with real feelings among majority of Northerners. Just saying ... |
Okoroawusa:You are victim of the current Nigeria system where mediocrity has been enthroned. Four long years devoid of second term distraction is enough to make significant changes and lay a new economic foundation for Nigeria. You need to rise above this "impossibility" planted in your mind by incompetent and corrupt Nigerian politicians for their selfish reasons. |
Britishpea:Take it or leave it. No sane Nigerian North, South, East and West will oppose any good and transparently sincere policies of government. if you any action plan to help agricultural activities and good processing in the North or plan to tap the marine resources of Nigeria Delta, no Nigerian will oppose it. If you release a regime of incentives to encourage establishment of industries and SMEs, nobody will oppose it. If you reduce the number of ministers to 36 as provided by the constitution, nobody will oppose. If you expand port operations to other regions of Nigeria, nobody will oppose. Nigerians are not stupid. It is only that the bar is low at the moment. |
TimeManager:The truth to kiss is that none of the past presidents of Nigeria came prepared for the office. From - Obasanjo who was recruited from prison unprepared by exiting military Junta - to late Yar'adua who wanted to retire to a university campus to take of his health before being selfishly recruited by Obasanjo. - to Jonathan who was a passive VP before the death of Yar'adua threw him forward, - to Buhari who came with almost questionable intellect - and to Tinubu who although coveted power for long. still came disappointingly unprepared. By the way, it will be the biggest tragedy if Peter Obi along with his think tank hasn't by now developed a roadmap to solve Nigeria's numerous problems. I hope he does. |
