Okoroawusa: Nwannem egwu a ina agba efitghi gi. Be a cerebral commentor on issues as I have known to be on this forum for many years. Leave emotions for Obidients unless you are telling me that you have become one. You are victim of the current Nigeria system where mediocrity has been enthroned. Four long years devoid of second term distraction is enough to make significant changes and lay a new economic foundation for Nigeria. You need to rise above this "impossibility" planted in your mind by incompetent and corrupt Nigerian politicians for their selfish reasons. |

Britishpea: You lie. You must really think all other past presidents didn’t have clear road maps. Even in your daily jobs you planned to do this today but on starting the job you do something else. And that’s a job where you are the only sole decision maker. Now what about a situation whereby thousands of people give you different advice on a per min basis ? What about situations whereby you recieve thousands of calls, policies reports, advices, threats delegated roles but not carried out by your subordinates?
What about the conflicts and threats coming from different regions? What about the messed up system, institutions and parastatals that have been messed up over the years. Benjamin said “ 20 years is lot of time to get a place diseased. It will take eternity to fix it”
Black nation with bicameral system of government In a country where thousands have made billions over the years through criminalities, govt sabotage, tax evasion, contacts inflation and abandonment budget padding, fake and illegal importations and extortion of labors and others, and largely cut cornering of ways and means. And one person thinks all these will be fixed in 4 years of his tenure??
What exactly did Yaradua do that makes people keep saying he served us well? He reduced fuel price from 70 to 65. Nothing else! His govt was actually short lived. But who knows what could have happened if he had completed it? If it was so easy to govern why didn’t yaradua turn Kastina where he spent 8 years to at least Agricultural hub since they are known for agric, at least?
Most times I discover that lack of proper education and depth in wisdom are responsible for people to say what they say especially our youths that we rely so much on.
Any well educTed mind knows that Obi can’t do a shit in four years? Why would it be easy for him to leave after 4 years when he knows that he hasn’t done shit. Obj spent 8 years and discovered that he hasn’t done anything thus he wanted another 4 through back door.
Now the question is did Obi turn Anambra to a great state after 8 years?
We need to stop deceiving ourselves in this country.
People must begin to know that a president is not the only decision makers in Nigeria. This is a country where a president was dad for weeks and everyone around in in the know denied it. They had to put out the light at the airport T bring him in before they declared that he was dead.
Every report of Oronsaye? People must really think that past presidents didn’t want to implement it. The fear is sacrosanct. There are push backs. There are forces bigger than the president himself. Does the president know the feelings of the soldiers? Does he know the feelings of the senate and others.
Obi is clearly a desperate guy who wants to be a president by all means else he won’t say that he doesn’t need more than 4 years to fix Nigeria problems. How?? Take it or leave it. No sane Nigerian North, South, East and West will oppose any good and transparently sincere policies of government. if you any action plan to help agricultural activities and good processing in the North or plan to tap the marine resources of Nigeria Delta, no Nigerian will oppose it. If you release a regime of incentives to encourage establishment of industries and SMEs, nobody will oppose it. If you reduce the number of ministers to 36 as provided by the constitution, nobody will oppose. If you expand port operations to other regions of Nigeria, nobody will oppose. Nigerians are not stupid. It is only that the bar is low at the moment. |

TimeManager: It's too easy to dream, easier to fathom, like a child driving a car with his mouth. By the tangled system under which the country operates, you can't do anything by mere paper policy until you get in there and discover it takes more than empty promises. Soludo would have turned Anambra to Dubai by now or Otti would have payed off outstanding salaries, even increased civil servants salaries threefolds the old payments. They now understand better being on the hot seat, electioneering is a different kettle of fish. The best way out is the constitutional process presently ongoing under the current administration. The President understands that a new constitution with the framework of a true federalism is the only panacea out of the status quo. And that's what the executive are determined to give to Nigerians very soon. Where every state can operate in a fair and equitable system.
-Kiss the truth! The truth to kiss is that none of the past presidents of Nigeria came prepared for the office. From - Obasanjo who was recruited from prison unprepared by exiting military Junta - to late Yar'adua who wanted to retire to a university campus to take of his health before being selfishly recruited by Obasanjo. - to Jonathan who was a passive VP before the death of Yar'adua threw him forward, - to Buhari who came with almost questionable intellect - and to Tinubu who although coveted power for long. still came disappointingly unprepared. By the way, it will be the biggest tragedy if Peter Obi along with his think tank hasn't by now developed a roadmap to solve Nigeria's numerous problems. I hope he does. |

Two things.
One, a typical Nigerian 2-term president actually do EFFECTIVE governance for four years out of eight because of reelection bid and succession shenanigans. Just like what is currently happening in Nigeria.
Two, any elected presidential candidate who moves into the Aso Rock Villa with well-researched, brainstormed and developed compendium of transformative policy ideas, vital reforms, programs, etc, to solve critical national problems and boost economic activities, will hit the ground running. And he would achieve a lot in four years especially if he has zero 2nd term bid distraction.
Our bar has been too low in Nigeria since the return to democracy in 1999. We have had 26 years of slow motion governance with a lot of looting. There have been much empty talk about diversification of our economy with less progress. Most of the sectors of the economy are crying for review and modernization of processes. There is inexplicable fear about implementing Orasanye panel report to plug leakages in governance. It has been trial and error, knee-jerk policies and scattergun approach. We deserve better |

Whether it was done 10 years ago or it will be done 20 years later, what is the economic benefit in terms of job creation and revenue generation?
Was Whitehouse build in the same manner? Wasn't America more prudent in the management of public fund when America built the White House? The arguement is about prudence in managing public fund, not about the cost of building and maintaining the house. Americans were more prudent when they built White House (because they have two heads and you were privy to the costs at the time) but Gov. Soludo who hasn't borrowed a dime is wasteful while constructing Anambra State Government House. Inferiority complex on display! |

immortalcrown: Be rational. With the poverty rate in the country, it is wrong to spend over 100 billion Naira that belongs to the public on such a project unless the houses will be used as hotels to generate so much money for Anambra. Well, it is N100 billion well spent today. It could have cost much less if it was done 10 years but people with your mindset slept on it and thus the state spent more. It is the same mindset that is responsible for dearth of certain critical infrastructure in Anambra State because it wouldn't generate rent even when it is needed to drive the State economy. Look, White House of USA wasn't built and expanded several times with peanuts but it has become the pride of every American. In the same way, the new Anambra State Government House in Awka named THE LIGHT HOUSE will continue to be the pride of every Onye Anambra for years to come. |

The problem with the current FG is lack of direction.
Lack of direction due to lack of a road map
Lack of a road map due to lack of vision.
So far, it has been a journey of scatter-gun approach with a lot of knee-jerk stand-alone policies, programes and reforms. There is little or nothing linking these action plans towards a goal of say, prosperity. |

As political contestants, one expects peter Obi and Sowore to verbally tackle each other, from time to time, based on issues.
Again, as an opposition politician, one also expects Sowore to always beam lights on the policies of the current FG but he is rather focused on another opposition politician Peter Obi.
His recent incessant and obsessive attacks on the person of Peter Obi looks suspicious as though he is incentivized to particularly defame him out of the other politicians at all cost.
Something doesn't add up here. There is something fishy. |

However and unfortunately, none of Atiku, Peter Obi, Nasir El Rufai, etc has developed any road map at the moment. It is all about collaboration to grab power without collaborating to produce a LIVING DOCUMENT that lay a foundation a prosperous Nigeria.
