I bought a generator 1.8kva senwei new generator from a shop at ikorodu garage ikorodu testing the generator at the seller shop for 10 minutes with a bulb and it work fine on taking it home it work for 30 minutes and stop working I try to on it back but did not come up and I have to take it back the next day to the seller and him checking it he told me that the plug of the generator is the cause and he need to change it and after changing the plug it work .and after working for 30 minutes at home again it stop work and I have to take it back to them that the generator I bought from them is new why should I be going front and back because of a new generator and seller suddenly become rude he was telling me that they can't change it to another one but they can only repair the one I bought from them.after the whole issue there mechanic said the carprator of the generator is bad and he change to a new one.
After taking it home and the gen run for one hour it stop working.
my nairaland people please advice me what I can do next on this issue.

laugh out loud you changed the caburator of a new generator? the mechanic knows next to nothing. as simple as that you bought a fake Chinese generator.

it's a minor fault shall. but you need a special mechanic to detect the root problem.

I'm suspecting a bad fuel. you might need to service the tank and caburator.

I bought a Sumec Firman at their office in Ikeja today and they gave me a 3 months warranty. I objected that it'd be 3 years but they say it's 3 months. Is this true?

bro to be honest with you. nothing like new product but with the kind of quality we have here is nothing to write home about even from the TV set. we had good brand when naira was strong to a dollar. at that time you can get a quality air conditioner LG for 600$ to 800$ and should be around 60k to 90k way back. imagine what 800$ is today? can you and anyone afford air conditioner of 800$? to 1000$? as it's obtainable in US or Europe?

but today with the rate naira has become useless importers and manufacture are compromising quality to make it affordable to Nigeria and Africans. imagine Air condictioner of 100k brand new that about 200$ today.


I am using LG tokubo. very rugged and strong. if you can get a 1st grade LG 1hp with everything intact for 80k and never touched before I would advise you go for it instead. you will get a 1hp skyrun for 120k I heard it's trying. temacool is a bit higher in price.

but I would advise you take you time to look for a very clean and shape tokubo LG. with remote and everything intact even for 100k. it will blow cooler and stronger exspecially if you like using it to sleep. tokubo comes with stonger and bigger compressor. while those new ac comes with small and low quality compressor. the compressor is air conditioner and air conditioner is compressor. that all that matters the rest are just pipe, copper, aluminum, and small ic board panel. even if you remove the ic panel and connect direct the ac will still work directly. but you can't control anything like the intelligence. timer, high ,low, fan speed setting, blower direction, e.t.c

those low quality ones parts can easily break off after first year.

you can order from Amazon if you need America quality ac but your budget should be around a thousand dollar.
a visit to amazon will open your eyes.

but if it's TV set. I would advise new because of latest technology in them and come with the follow come remote. don't buy tv and buy third party remote it don't work correctly.

any generator that can comfortably run pressing iron or washing machine or AC will not come cheap.

there are branded generator of 250k otherwise go for the Chinese generator 150k to 190k

75k will get you Chinese 2.5 kva, but it will die fast.

budget is too low. at the moment you should be looking at from 100k upwards. original 3.5kva to 4kva generator

.. people pay up to 400k to 500k just to join the sars team. some pay a one time payment others installments. and it's does not end there. to mentain a lucrative location as a nigeria police or sars they have to remit weekly to their superior otherwise they will be transferred to the north. so times they do rading and pick people from the street majorly young Nigerians. they accused them unjustly either criminal, cultist or whatever just so that can have a medium or opportunity to extort them to satisfy their tastes of lifestyle.

I know of a senior police officer that live in hotel. his boys usually drive their hilux van to remit to him in the hotel, which I believe they are mounting road block and extortion at strategic location. sometimes he changes hotel for some months and back later. all he does is controlling different women every night. drinking and smoking.

even if he doesn't come back to the hotel that night he still pays for the room. one wonders how a police officer of such live like nnpc worker. when these boys get into trouble he will deliver them with calls and his connection which is giving them more morals to carry out more illigal duties.
