I have watch boko haram videos with keen interest as one who specialized in past and present wars history and how battles are fought and won by world powers. I would say that what I found in the Nigeria army and boko haram is that the Nigeria military have zero intelligence and zero commitment, and even the so called civil war they fought and claimed to have won against the Biafra was the same if not for the Britain that helped to enforced the last blockade. the Biafra troops were far more motivated even with limited armed supply, they lost because it was a proxy war against UK/USA/Russia and the reason Biafras could be defeated. the war lasted close to 3 years because the history of the Nigeria military is that they try as much as possible to avoid confrontation in battles at all means. they are more superior when their opponent is armless and helpless. the boko haram fighters are not better equipped or better intelligence in battle. but because the Nigeria military always avoid confrontation with armed opponent that's the reason they couldn't be defeated. the boko haram fighter are Ragtag's and malnourish group of illiterates straight out from the bush with little sense of what they are fighting for, no protective vets or military kits, little or no sense of battle confrontation and yet they are only more brave than the Nigeria military. the fighters are careless about shields or an ideal what superior weapon is as they fought with just what they had and depend so much on it. they are always in the open and in their pickup vans which their enemy's can picked them up easily. their formation and concentration has little knowledge about defends but are always ready for the attacks and in the open. in their groups only few has strong old rusting weapons the majority of them are carrying rusting AKA 47 and are poorly handled. poorly and locally made IED bomb with no safety measure. they can't get simply their targets from long distance from the way they fired gunshots. maybe probably close range. lastly a topical Nigeria soldier don't want to die for nothing because he believed that his superiors in the military are eating away the military budgets and while he has a family back home to protect than to die for nothing. and to end it all 1 billion dollars were claimed to have been released to the army just before the election. |

https://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Boko-Haram.jpg The Islamic State, IS, has claimed responsibility for some attacks in Borno State, the Reuters News Agency reports. IS in a statement on Thursday, said Islamic State in West Africa (ISWAP) fighters attacked a base in Kareto with light medium and heavy weapons. It claimed, “at least 20” Nigerian soldiers were killed and others injured, that a “tank” and a Shilka self-propelled anti-aircraft weapon were destroyed and the base was burned.” Seven four-wheel drive vehicles, weapons and ammunition were captured, the statement added. One of the recent attacks was carried out on Wednesday, June 12, with the insurgents attacking troops of 158 Battalion Location at Kareto Village of Mobbar Local Government Area, Borno State. The group claimed that its affiliate, the Islamic State In West Africa (ISWA), which split from Boko Haram terrorist group in 2016, has carried out a number of attacks in the northeast over the last few months. ISIS also claimed to have attacked a military base in Kareto village, which is about 130 kilometres from the Borno State capital, Maiduguri. The group added that an Army Commander was shot dead in the attack, which the military is yet to confirm. https://dailypost.ng/2019/06/14/claims-responsibility-borno-attacks/amp/ |

Eight suspects, comprising five Ghanaians and three Nigerians have been arrested by the Ghanaian security agencies for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping of two Canadian ladies. The victims, Lauren Patricia Catherine Tilley 19 and Bailey Jordan Chitly were rescued by Ghanaian security operatives, early Wednesday at Sawaba, a Kumasi suburb. The Minister of Information, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, during a press briefing at Accra on Wednesday, disclosed that eight suspects, including five Ghanaians and three Nigerians have been arrested in connection with the crime. Nkrumah, while giving a brief account of the rescue operation, revealed that one of the Nigerians was believed to be the leader of the gang. “Gunshots were fired from within the premises. But the brief we had was that it took about 25 minutes to complete the operation. “At the end of the operation, the two Nigerians, who were holding the women had been subdued. And a third Nigerian, believed to be the leader of the gang was arrested later at a separate location,” he said. The Minister further said the arrested persons were in custody. One of the suspects sustained minor injuries during the operation, he revealed. Nkrumah added that other investigations and possible arrests were still ongoing. Regarding the rescued ladies , the Minister said they have been flown to Accra and they have been in contact with the Canadian authorities. Nkrumah, who assured that the ladies were fine, however said they were undergoing necessary evaluations, following a traumatic incident like that. The Minister expressed appreciation to the combined team of Ghana security agencies, especially the Ghana Police Service, particularly the Criminal Investigations Department and the Ashanti Regional Police Command, the Bureau of National Investigations and the Special Weapons and Tactics Unit and other units of the National Security Council Secretariat for their efforts in rescuing the ladies. He assured the Ghanaian public and the International community that Ghana was safe. “Ghana security agencies continue to assure the Ghanaian public, including travellers that Ghana is safe. And they have what it takes to secure their enterprises in the country,” he declared. https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/3-nigerians-5-ghanaians-arrested-over-abduction-of-2-canadians.html/amp |

https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/320/cpsprodpb/FF8D/production/_107212456_gettyimages-1147414349.jpg Imagine becoming heavyweight champion of the world - by knocking out a fighter who's never been knocked out - and still having to worry about people calling you fat. Andy Ruiz Jr's astonishing win against Anthony Joshua looks like a victory for anyone who's been mocked for carrying a bit too much timber. To the untrained eye, the Mexican certainly looked hopelessly out of shape - with slo-mo replays merely highlighting his wobbly torso. But Newsbeat's been finding out how all that fat might actually help you fight. "In a sport like heavyweight boxing there are certainly scenarios where carrying extra body fat can be beneficial," says sports nutritionist Dr Mayur Ranchordas. He's worked with anyone from pro-boxers Gavin and Jamie McDonnell to diver Tom Daley - and says it's all about recognising the delicate balance between muscle, fat and fitness. "When we train athletes in the lab the first thing we do is measure their body composition - how much muscle mass they are carrying and how much fat mass they have around it. "If you want to become a good cyclist, extra body fat is of no use whatsoever because that additional weight doesn't translate into performance. In boxing it can. "If you're an extra 20 kilograms heavier - even if that weight is coming from fat - the opponent is going to feel your punch a lot more," he explains. So extra weight can enhance power. But, of course, there is a trade off: fitness and agility. "If you are carrying extra body fat then your heart rate is going to be higher and you're going to have to use more energy to move around." Before a fight boxers go into training camps where, usually, the aim is to lose fat mass and increase muscle mass. To tone up, basically. But Dr Ranchordas says - as long as an athlete is fit enough to handle the extra weight - the fat can be helpful. "If your ability to produce speed is great, your punching power is phenomenal and your fitness levels are very, very good - getting you to lose an extra 15 kilos of fat is probably not going to help." And that brings us back to Ruiz. "Ruiz is carrying a lot of body fat - but don't get me wrong he's carrying a lot of muscle mass at the same time. He's not just a fat blob. "So how does he differ from an overweight guy down the street? That guy might weigh the same - but underneath the fat he's carrying nowhere near as much muscle."
