Who said there's no Canadian embassy in naija? The only thing I had with vfs was fingerprints. The embassy is at no 4 anifowoshe str Victoria Island. I submitted my passport there and picked up my visa there.

Greeting my ancestors

Pls is it compulsory for my sponsor to be my relation?
It could be anyone with lots of money in their account right?
Plus how do i explain the relationship to the VO
Thats the only thing delaying my visa application
All docs are ready
Anyone who can help pls? Anyone could manage to provide a sponsor with too much money, it's best to be your relative because that way the VO will reasons to believe the sponsor is your family and it's reasonable for him to spend lots of money on you via skl. But the puzzle the VO is gonna ask if the sponsor is not your relative is why would a random person who's not your relative want to spend huge amount on someone especially in the present world today. They know Nigerians are desperate to come abroad. Put yourself as the VO. Unless you have a strong proof to show that this your sponsor has been sponsoring you all the way. It's easy to proof if he has. All the best

hi, when i applied, i had no idea that one is suppose to pay for accommodation. when i got here, i didn't know anyone, no one picked me from airport cos i didn't know you could contact and make arrangement with your school. i checked into a hotel for 3weeks before i could find my own place. spent almost 400k in that 3wks. it was really tough. i knew it was gonna be tough so i had to make sure i was ready financially. i was called a monkey while trying to get a house in Toronto, abi na accent barrier? but looking back now, it made me keep my head up and rolling my dice well. am in my 2nd semester of my 2nd program. anyone coming to seneca college Newnham, holla at your boy so i can assist in any little way. finestlex@gmail.com its advisable not to pay for accommodation when you've not gotten your visa. staying off campus is far cheaper than Seneca residence. every knowledge i had before my application came from nairaland family (chrigo, missbon, amefrica, PHYZ, and justwise) whoever emails me for info, am gonna reply you and as well paste your question and my reply on nairaland so others can learn. Toronto aka Tdot is a sweet city, jobs, beautiful ladies etc #smiles. God bless our hustle everyday< Amen (2) when you fire your visa app and you called up for medicals, drink a lot of water 3days before you go so you can pee always in order to throway all the malaria in your system. i was scared when i did mine which is normal, my BP even nack 142 over something which was cos i was nervous, but trust me, just relax and have it done and everything would be fine. i know this thread is a lot but if newbies can read part 1 to 5 only, you'll have every info you need, no question is stupid, always feel free to ask, we all here to learn and encourage one another. BLESS!!

1.Hello Gurus, I've been pondering on this for a while now. please for those who where granted TRV without having any tie in Canada, how did you prove you would reside within the campus without paying campus residence fee(I intend paying when TRV is granted by God's grace cos I don't want to risk it)
2. what are requirements for upfront medicals and how will I get the medical form
please nairaland family help me out on this

Good to be back here once in a while to read comments. Even though I needed not to go through every comment here since the last time I checked, I still made efforts to sieve through some contributions here. I just felt I might still get some useful info and update on what I already know or more likely to see if there is this one question or questions that were left unanswered that I needed to help with.

I will quickly drop 5 steps to getting your admission and visa approved

1.Needless to say, your first ingredient for success is information. If you don't know how to get informed and stay informed, you won't make much progress trying to land that admissions or visa talkless of being successful when you eventually get into Canada.SO stay on nairaland, match information with information, screen every info cos you won't always get them right here also. For eg. I had sleepless nights during my information gathering stages here on nairaland, I literally read through all the parts. I was looking for something relevant in the midst of several irrelevant discussions. And for those who digress, please try to stay within track for someone like me who probably is doing what I did. I matched all info with what i read on CIC site, argued with close friends, visited some visa agents to know if they truly do anything different. i found out they dont because I ended up giving them some more information that they weren't even aware of;some of which I got from here.

2. Package smartly: I didn't say you should lie but if your truth cannot be substantiated. It is not worth it. Leave it out.Be able to backup whatever you claim. For Eg. I have a friend of mine who graduated with a 2.1 and applied to the same school-University of Waterloo. He quoted he had a masters from unilag but didn't finish at unilag and couldn't get his certificate nor transcript. Even though he submitted his undergrad degree cert and was issued conditional admissions, he didn't get the unconditional admission finally because he couldn't supply the Unilag masters transcript. He lost out on the school because once you submit your application you cannot edit it anymore and it will remain in their file forever or maybe till their system crash..lol..So Apply "What ifs" and make alternatives for improvements.

3. Be consistent: If you want to be a liar, you better make it your truth. Consistency pays, your first application says you were unemployed, the second application says you were employed some months back before the first application. Third application says you will like to get a job after you finish studies in canada and fourth says you will return home to better your country. You can as well enrol on a charity donation to CIC and forget about applying and wasting paper. grin lol. These guys can put 2 and 2 together and know your purpose of wanting to leave your country.

4. Be original: I see people copy formats and use. The format should only be a guide. You need to touch that creative part of you and bring it to life. You can do a very appealing application. Get the juices, get the seasonings, water the meat, simmer a bit and the taste will be just great! cool

5. Lastly, give back. Help people answer questions or solve their problems. You achieve 2 things by doing this. You become better at what you do and you affect the life you helped. You open doors for yourself. I have told you how I helped people package their applications for free while I was still about to apply and they got their visas. Some replicated with voluntary money gifts. It feels so great knowing you contributed towards the success of others.

Cheers!
And stay tuned for more.

What happened to the days of "what a man can do, a woman can do better. Being comfortable or rich must not be a guy's duty, ladies can also work hard and own a property and a car before getting married instead of being shameless gold diggers.. Most times ladies that spill this balderdash don't own shit.. Stupid topic

[I won't advice any international student to study part time.. Lots of conditions. Not allowed to work, automatically disqualified from pgwp.. I think you can't get health coverage from skl as well. And after skl, you leave Canada.. Or you enrol for full time skl and other benefits will follow quote author=EmmaMsc post=41545272]

Hello I dont think international students are allowed to study part time in Canada. I tried searching for information on whether international students wishing to study part time will be granted study permit but no concrete info. You will have to do more research to confirm if that is possible. (cc thesoj siga )

But please note that in any case, international students studying part time are not allowed to work either on or off campus

York university is 40mins away from me.. You can apply for student visa from the States.. If you going for undergrad, post grad or msc, your study permit will surely state you eligible to work. Very best you'd be allowed

Newbie here!!

I'm considering relocating to Canada from the U.S for an advanced degree. I schooled and now work in the U.S., but its time to take a leap of faith and a lil challenge for something new. I'm not sure where to start with this process, but I'll try to read backwards and google-it-out.
1. Can I get a students visa over here or do I need to interview in Nigeria?
2. Is it TRV->Student permit or can I work towards them simultaneously?

Does anyone have experience with;
York University
Wilfrid Laurier University
University of Windsor

Career / Re: Lady Who Slept With Her Bosses For Promotion Cries Out by Finestlex(m): 5:35am On Dec 19, 2015
I'd never condemn you cos we all sinners.. No one is righteous. I ain't either.. We all make mistakes, depends on when we realize we taking the wrong path in life.. No time is late to change. Your body is the temple of the Lord. The public might call you names but focus on the brighter side of life. Fornication with a boyfriend or fiancé without marriage is a Sin, just like calling pot or kettle black.. Our God is faithful but do not try to take advantage of that. Coming to the media to state what you going through is a step forward. Confess your sins to God and change for real. If you believe, there's absolutely nothing God cannot do. Anyone can do anything by themselves if you work hard to wards it. n

How come the only Canadian I dated was full of shit. Am a Nigerian and I won't say am perfect. We all have good and bad sides but we must embrace both in someone we love. I broke up with my girl last month cos she's too proud of herself that she's Canadian and am not. She believes I need her and she doesn't need me. Of cos I can't be an option to anyone when I make you a priority. I never knew she was Canadian and never asked her, she told me. I couldn't cope with her feeling I only met her in order to have my papers. We barely dated couple of weeks and she asked me to get her pregnant so she could help me with papers. I told her I wasn't interested cos am not in a haste. Back then, whenever we have any argument, she'll tell me am so African. She sometimes say she hates black but she's a dependent of Jamaica. She's likes to be in charge. She asked me to move into her apartment and I said no, she told me I was staying at my place so I could cheat on her, I had my place before I met her. I perfectly understood we got different backgrounds but she wanted me to act Canadian when am not. Am just a year old here. Smiles. Still single and searching anyways.

Hello gurus in the house i am new to this thread i have read a few of previous pages. My question is this: i searched the link above for sch for a certificate diploma. I got two results one of them was three years which is too long for me while the other was one year in the university of concordia, montreal in quebec. This is in french speaking part of canada but read that the university teaches its courses in english including mine. I will like to know if there is anyone who attends this school and stays in montreal. I will like to get a permanent residence permit after sch. I want to know how easy it is to obtain in this part of canada and also if i could easily get a job during and after sch in this part of canada. I will appreciate your opinion and response thanks
