Wow, this economy hasn’t just created more people struggling financially but also driven some to frustration. A colleague in a different sector was venting about spending nearly 300k per month just on fuel for his daily commute. He built his beautiful home a few years back, back when fuel prices weren’t a concern. Now, with fuel prices soaring and his stagnant salary feeling like a distant promise, he deeply regrets the long distance between his home and office. When fuel hit over 600 per liter, another guy, who owns a shop in Central Area and a mansion near Dunamis, ended up renting a three-bedroom apartment closer to his shop. After calculating the cost of fueling his car, his wife’s, and the one for errands, he realized it was cheaper to pay for an apartment near his business than to keep commuting. For those who live far from their workplace, how are you managing these days? Hold on tight Nigerians, I hope it gets better. |
