Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie was in Dubai for the One African concert held on Thursday, November 16 but failed to perform after a successful soundcheck and arriving at the venue on time.

The reasons for the failure of his performance has not been communicated to the press by the organisers as well as of Sarkodie’s management team. However, a close source has hinted blogger NYDJ that Sarkodie was disrespected by some Nigerian artistes on the night and that’s why he failed to mount the stage.

According to the individual whose name is not known yet, Sarkodie was to perform after Tiwa Savage but Wizkid joined the Mavins artiste whilst on stage which prevented Sarkodie from performing after Tiwa Savage as originally planned. The organisers after the unfortunate incident happened told Sarkodie he would mount stage after Teckno but Davido repeated what his arch-rival, Wizkid did when Tiwa Savage was on stage.

The last straw that broke the camel’s back according to the informant was when Banky W who was the host of the show mentioned Sarkodie as next act whilst DJ Mensah was setting up only to be informed later that Davido was to perform before Sarkodie.

“SARKODIE THEN FELT TURN OF EVENTS WERE DISRESPECTFUL. THIS HAPPENS TO BE THE THIRD TIME HE HAS BEEN DISRESPECTED IN THE SAME MANNER BY THE NIGERIAN ARTISTES.”

Top African artistes who performed at the event included include 2face Idibia, Wizkid, Davido, Tekno, Diamond, Victoria Kimani, Cassper Nyovest, Tiwa Savage, Flavour, Emma Nyra, et al with the exception of Sarkodie.

The Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers (NISE), an arm of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, will on Thursday, November 9, 2017 confer the former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, with its Award of Fellowship for his consistent promotion and vital support of the practice of engineering safety in Nigeria.

The Award will be presented during the opening ceremony of the conference of the Institution scheduled to hold at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

In a letter signed by the National Chairman, Mr. Abiodun Oyedepo, the Institution stated that it examines individuals and organizations who have consistently demonstrated leadership role in making safety a priority in their organizations and in society.

The award will also serve as recognition by practicing professionals that the awardee, Eng. (Sen.) Iyiola Omisore, FNSE, is considered a suitable role model for others in the nation and is to be given the honor and respect due to such.

Eng. Senator Iyiola Omisore, FNSE, is the Chief Executive Officer of Chisore Engineering Limited, an electrical engineering firm, which has been involved in the execution of many projects for blue-chip companies, banks and embassies, shipping companies, etc. He is also the CEO of Mechelec Consultants, an international Engineering consulting firm that consults for high profile international organizations and multilateral agencies.

Senator Iyiola Omisore was conferred with the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Presidential Merit Award for Support and Contribution to the Development of the Society in 2007. Luxurious bus travlers
Shocking story of how a young man single handedly robbed a fully loaded luxurious bus coming from Lagos to Onitsha.

The smart thief robbed the passenger by giving them the impression that his partners named X,Y,Z are also in the bus by instructing them on what to do tothe passengers should anyone try to challenge or not cooperate with him.

Kelechi Kenneth Igwoko, One of the victims robbed in the bus narrates how the whole incident happened:

“Yesterday on our way to Onitsha from Lagos in a luxury-bus, a well dressed ugly looking young man stood up and pulled a gun out of his pocket and shouted “keep quiet everyone, face down, close your eyes and remain where you are” Then we were along the highway in the Benin bushes. There was silence throughout.

“The man continued “X, take cover, Y, shoot if you see any funny movement, Z, don’t leave your duty post at all. I panicked to the point of urinating on my pant but. The next thing I remember foot steps of the man.

“Then a tap came on my back and handed over my wallet containing my ID cards, ATM cards and some mony. The operation lasted for about 30 minutes after which the man shouted on the driver to stop.

“With one corner of my eye, I saw the man gently leave the bus with his exploit, asking X, Y and Z to remain in the bus ’till the next junction. Until we reached Onitsha Central Police Station, no one came out of the bus and we realized we had been robbed by one man.

The people of Okofia Umudiji Ukpor are crying to Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano for immediate help to save them from being isolated completely from the state.

This is Okofia Umudiji Ukpor bridge connecting, 1, Umudiana Ezinifite, Awo town in Nnewi south local government and also linking Lilu in Ihiala local government.

This road has been Isolated and abandoned for over 40 years by successive government of the state.

The town hosting this damaged infrastructure is known for their agriculture produce.

This bridge got broken down due to vehicles carrying heavy palm produce and other food items as produced in the area.

Today, the neighboring towns can not even pay visit to the other towns talk more of of patronising the market.

The town union have tried in their own way but yet the road and bridge is at the worst condition now, that’s why they’re calling on the state governor to come to their rescue before the bidge collapse completely.

Kogi state governor Yahaya Bello and his wife, Amina Bello, graced the launch of a non-governmental organisation (NGO) with their son. The project focused on supporting people living with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

The NGO is an initiative of Amina, who’s one of the governor’s wives, to help people with special needs, especially as her own son is physically challenged.

Despite the fact that the boy has cerebral palsy and was on a wheel-chair, he looked full of life with a smile for everyone.

The mum said, “I live on my son everyday I cherish him and love him so much.”

This is where majority of the meats sold in Anambra State Capital, Awka and its environs comes from.

Awka abattoir popularly called Kwata, the smells from this place is enough to make one lose appetite for meat.

The unbearable stench that oozes from the abattoir has forced most people living within the vicinity to relocate to other areas of the town and also made Eze-Uzu Awka, Obi Gibson Nwosu, who’s Palace is 20 meters away from the slaughter house, once threatened to close down the place due to how unkept the place is.

Commissioner of Heath in the State, Dr. Josephat Akabuike, once said that “it is suicidal to eat meat coming out from the dirty abattoir.”

Though the operators there had cried out over the unfair treatment they receive from the authorities in the state in spite of the heavy levies they pay, yet they still lack the basic amenities, including access to potable water needed for a decent abattoir.

I wonder if the state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano who claims to be the people’s Governor eat meat from this same place since 90% of Awka residence and his workers at the goverment house eat meat from this dirt or rather posion?
