Some men suspected of involvement in the killings of over 18 people at St. philip Catholic Church in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo local Goverment area of Anambra State have been arrested by the Police.

This was made known today Monday 7. August by Ifeanyi Aniagoh SSA to Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano on Social Media.

Willie Obiano with the state Commisioner of Police, Mr Garba Umar, visited the scene of the attack yesterday had promised to bring thos involved in the crime to book.

Police also states that the gunmen shot sporadically at the worshippers when the gained entrance into the church.

According to the state Commisioner “Information further revealed that this is not unconnected to a kind of a ‘gang war’ between indigenes of the state – the children of the same village – who are engaged in a warfare outside Nigeria, precisely in South Africa”.

President Buhari also condemned the attack describing it as an “unspeakable sacrilege”.

“there was no justification whatsoever to target church worshippers and kill them in cold blood.”

The president, however, reassured Nigerians of his administration’s firm and uncompromising commitment to protecting their lives and property at all times.

Anambra state has set Monday aside as a day of mourning for the victims even as more Nigerians have come out to condemn the act.

A trailer truck carrying logs of woods along Port Harcourt express way fell on people opposite Imo state polytechnic, Umuagwo.

The ugly incident which happened few kilometers from the state capital Owerri has left many dead and some injured.

One chance driver has been apprehended, beaten and stripped naked when he ran out of luck in Abuja.

It was a bad day for the robber who who met his Waterloo on Saturday afternoon when mob in Suleja caught him in action.

The man was saved by the intervention of the Nigerian Police when the mob wanted to lynch and burn him. While they were beating him, the suspected robber could be heard shouting “A bu kwam onye Igbo” meaning “Am an Igbo”.

His bus was later set on fire after the Police had whisked him away.

A woman known as Hajia has been drowned by flood along with her 4×4 jeep in Tamale, Northern Region of Ghana.

The woman and some other people lost their lives in the flood due to heavy rain in Tamale which also destroyed houses and properties on July 25th.

In the video below, shows flood carrying Hajia with her car. Her car was later found where it got stucked when the flood stopped. Her remains since been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital Morgue.

Police unit attached to a particular post has decided to work extra hours by blocking a good portion of the Onitsha/Enugu express road (they were not assigned to work there ).

According to eyewitnes;
“While claiming to control traffic, they extended their “charity” duty by doing “usual usual”.”

“A 911 Heavy duty tipper that lost it’s brake, only wanted follow the free way since “police is your friend” block half of the road hit this innocent pregnant woman who were coming back from hospital, a keke and its passengers.”

“Riot of course followed immediately,
the angry mob and some opportunists started destroying properties, Houses on fire.”

“I saw over 5 generators been moved, Car engine stolen,hilux got burnt, People started robbing people, I managed to escape with 2 of my phones.”

“One of the policemen were caught, after an attempt to gun down an “odesi” guy who collected his gun and disappear. He was beaten to “odi ndu, onwu ka mma” but not killed.”

“Few moments later, the SARS intervened.”

The problem started when Nigerian Army stopped the convoy of IPOB members going to Ebonyi State Capital to see their leader, Nnamdi Kanu who brought Abakailiki to a halt as thousands of residents left their businesses to catch a glimpse of the controversial separatist leader.

A Ghanian girl Rashidatu Mohammed a.k.a Rashida Black Beauty has come under fire on social media releasing her un.clad video which has gone viral.

Just when the discussion got to its peak, Rashida Black Beauty posts on her facebook page, “Hello Ghana, I am sorry and I regret my actions, there is a lot of explanation to this video but I guess the harm has already been done so no one will be willing to hear what I have to say or tell them.

A Nigerian man living in Dundee, Scotland is in court with his 8 year-old daught for repeatedly beating her becuase she didn’t greet him when he came back home.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, carried out the attack at an address in Dundee on June 14 then insisted the punishment was “accepted” in Nigeria.

Dundee Sheriff Court heard that the assault took place after he was angered that his daughter had not greeted him properly.

He told police that it was “accepted” in his home country that children are beaten as a punishment.

The court heard how the man had entered his home at about 8pm on the day in question.

The man was a practising Muslim and had expectations that children should greet any adults that enter the home, as a sign of respect towards them.

However, the court heard that the girl didn’t recognise the man’s presence and remained in her bedroom when he arrived.

Fiscal depute Trina Sinclair told the court: “This angered the accused and he asked her to go to the living room.
“She complied and stood in front of the accused who was seated.

“He took her by both wrists, prevented her from moving and struck her on the back a number of times.
“The complainer began to cry and went to her bedroom.”

The following morning, the child told staff at a school about the incident and the alarm was raised.
The man was traced by police and social workers.

He was then interviewed by officers.
The court heard that during the interview, the man accepted that he had hit the child.

He told officers: “I do not have to say anything. It happened, no dispute.”

In court, the man admitted a charge of assaulting the child by seizing her body before striking her on the body.

A lawyer acting on behalf of the man said: “It was a bit of over-chastisement.

“The accused is a very educated man.
“His wife is simply not coping and there is no antipathy there.”

Sheriff Lorna Drummond deferred sentence on the man until August 16 for the production of a social work report.

He was released on bail in the interim.
