Hundreds of sheep have been eerily walking around in a circle for 12 days straight in northern China’s Inner Mongolia region.
The bizarre behavior, captured on surveillance video, shows the large flock continuously marching clockwise in a near perfect circle on a farm.
Some other sheep can be seen spectating from the outside the rotation while others at times stand motionless in the center.
Video of the strange scene was tweeted Wednesday by Chinese state-run outlet People’s Daily, which reported the sheep are perfectly healthy and the cause of the behavior remains a mystery.
The sheep owner, identified as Ms. Miao, claimed the spectacle began with a few sheep before the whole flock joined, Metro reported. Although there are 34 sheep pens at the farm, only the sheep in one of the pens — number 13 — have been acting this way.
They’ve been on the move since Nov. 4.
Some have speculated the sheep’s behavior could be caused by a bacterial disease called Listeriosis — also known as “circling disease.”
“Initially, affected animals are anorectic, depressed, and disoriented. They may propel themselves into corners, lean against stationary objects, or circle toward the affected side,” according to the Merck Manual.
Outbreaks typically occur as a result of spoiled or low quality silage, according to the Merck Manual. In sheep and goats, however, death usually occurs within 24-48 hours after symptoms are observed.

Despite the temporary measures, official Foreign Office advice for travelers remains the same, stating simply that 'homosexuality is illegal in Qatar.'
Foreign Secretary James Cleverly had warned England and Wales supporters last month: 'These are Muslim countries; they have a very different cultural starting point (from ours).
'I think it's important when you're a visitor to a country that you respect the culture of your host nation.'
The decision to stage the World Cup in Qatar, a country where homosexuality can be punishable by death, has been attacked by gay and human rights organisations since the country was announced as the 2022 host.
'LGBT+ people there can be subjected to police harassment on the street and in shopping malls for merely 'looking' gay,'' British human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell wrote for MailOnline.
'There are reports of LGBT+ people being entrapped by police using gay dating apps and being murdered in 'honour' killings by their families,' he added.
Nigerian-born New Zealand UFC star, Israel Adesanya was arrested at JFK Airport on Wednesday, November 16, after allegedly trying to board a plane with brass knuckles.
Port Authority police said Adesanya who tried to walk through security around 2 p.m, was taken into custody by Transportation Security Administration staff who found the banned item in his possession.
Brass knuckles are illegal in the state of New York, however, the UFC star's manager claims the fighter was given them as a present by a fan. Adesanya was later released after being questioned by officials at the airport.
Adesanya’s manager Tim Simpson said in a statement;
“Israel was handed a gift by a fan, which he put in his luggage.
“When flagged at the airport, Israel quickly disposed of the item, and co-operated with authorities. He has complied accordingly, with that the matter was dismissed and he is on his way home.”
Although Adesanya was reportedly not charged after his arrest, the incident still serves as another blow for the UFC's former middleweight champion, following his stunning fifth round defeat to Pereira at Madison Square Garden on Saturday November 12.
Adesanya was ahead on all three cards, 39-37, after four full rounds in the main event bout in New York, nearly finishing Pereira at the end of the first round.

A 25-year-old man who was dancing on top of a trailer slammed into an overpass and died.
The unidentified man was knocked off an 18-wheeler on Eastex Freeway in Houston, Texas, around 11.30am on November 10.
Footage recorded by a driver shows the man standing on a white truck and dodging one overpass. He then gets up and moves his hips and arms and appears to be looking to the right when a second overpass hits him, shows the video obtained by the Daily Mail.
It happened as the truck moved under the Tuan Street Bridge, according to the Houston Police Department.
The man was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
The truck driver was questioned and released after he was found not to be impaired.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
A driver who was four vehicles behind the truck, Crystal Davis, told DailyMail: "I saw the blood chunks on the ground. I saw the contorted body and broken neck and arm.
