PoliticsRe: What Have You Done For Our Sick President ? by fire4fire: 3:03pm On Dec 16, 2009
@poster,I dont understand your question, what do you want me to do for yardua? that is a very sensless question. A country with a population of about 150million and at least 90million abled bodied healthy men we now choose to put a sick man in power that has refused to give way, even insist to die in power. I wonder what you want me to do for him, if not to wait and see !!!!!!!!
PoliticsRe: Who Wins The Worst Governor Of The Year Awaed? by fire4fire: 2:37pm On Dec 16, 2009
The worst Gov definitely has to be TA Orji of Abia State. It's quite unfortunate that we put goats at the corridors of power and expect them to perform magic. If anyone doubts me ,let him go to Abia State and see if there is any form of development going on.

Music/RadioRe: Artistes That Have No Business In The Music Industry by fire4fire: 2:34pm On Mar 04, 2009
Lil Wayne with his froggy voice should star as "comet the frog" I bet we have a lot of Nigerian artist that are better than him in every angle. "American Agbero boy " He's not even in the class of 2Pac or 50 Cent to start with.

Also Beyonce should look for something else to do , I can see she doesn't have anything else to deliver.
Music/RadioRe: Artistes That Have No Business In The Music Industry by fire4fire: 1:58pm On Mar 04, 2009
Sincerely I think Durella should look for something else to do, instead of wasting his energy mimicking Dbanj.

I have not heard from Eldris of late , I think maybe he is trying to advice himself.

Tetuila may have also discovered his real talent, but definitely not music.

This Lyll Wayne of a boy or whatever he calls himself should just stop disturbing the airwaves and give us space to listen to good music.

PoliticsRe: LAWMA Officials Should Be Appreciated by fire4fire: 8:48am On Sep 05, 2008
Considering the risky nature of this job,I think they should be carrying out their duty much earlier before the road gets busy.
I for one appreciates them and hope the government can at least increase their pay to make the job envy for many.

Because we dont have regard for our country, other nationals join this forum to insult and make a mockery of us.
PoliticsRe: 'Return Home', Fashola Charges Nigerians In Diaspora by fire4fire: 11:40am On Aug 22, 2008
It’s irritating sometimes when you see supposedly educated people especially those in the Diaspora making silly comments about their motherland, as if to say Oyibo land is heaven on earth. We all know about the many problems we have as a nation but we should'nt always run down the country at any slightest conversation.

There is no country that doesn’t have its ups and downs. Its not enough to criticize about no light, no water, armed robbers etc but what have you contributed to the development of the country. The Government cannot do it alone, but needs the collective effort of all to make a better Nigeria.

CareerRe: IT Professionals' Salary In Nigeria? by fire4fire: 9:39am On Aug 15, 2008
Its pretty obvious you are not going to die and be buried in Uk, so we should not discourage IT professionals from coming back home to contribute positively to technological developments in the country.

Coming to the question, there is not standard IT professionals salary in Nigeria. It all depends on how you bargain and where you are seeking employment.I can assure you that a lot of IT professionals have gotten mouth watering offers in Nigeria that they wouldnt wish to return to UK.

So the decision is totally yours, you can come over try one or two offers and if its good, work for some years and return back to UK if you feel like at least UK wont run away.

To be frank with you a lot of professionals in UK are returning home with mouth watering offers.

What kind of IT job in Nigeria pays 400,000 per month just be realistic bro! Easier said.
Try to continue your search, u will definately get a good one. stop beign pessimistic.
Don't be deceived by being abroad, lots of IT guys in Nigeria earns more than that a month, atleast I'm an example though I work in the banking sector. The only reason I can work abroad is for more experience.
TravelHeading Back To Nigeria From Uk by fire4fire(op): 7:54am On May 21, 2008
Recently came over to the UK on HSMP 3 weeks ago in search of work in IT sector. There are lots of jobs here for IT professionals if you got the skills.Got some offers, but it's just the equivalent of what I earn in Nigeria.I'm heading back to Naija next week, thank God I did'nt resign my appointment before coming.

Maybe I would relocate to Uk some other time if I wish, for now, Naija Government would be collecting my tax.

CareerRe: Two Offers: A Banking Job And An Engineering Job by fire4fire: 10:47am On Feb 13, 2008
Before we advocate for this guy to take the Engineering job, which type of Engineering job are we even talking about here? A one man Engineering firm can be very frustrating even more than the banking job .You dreams can come to an end anyday the man goes insane  grin except maybe its a Multnational Engineering firm. What can you even save up with a 60k salary?

What is a career and what is a job? As far as I'm concerned you can build a career in any field irrespective of what you studied in school. Because you studied Engineering in school does not mean you cannot become the best marketer in a bank and that is part of what is killing us. Broaden you opportunity ,forget this " I studied Engineering so I must work in an Engineering Firm mentality".

Even the Engineering firm you talk about you still end up being a paper Engineer, most of the Technology is imported while technicians do the support job.

Passion for Engineering , hahahah  , I 'm an Engineer as well but presently working in a bank, though in IT dept. I have not regretted it not for once.Your growth level is higher in the banking sector than the Engineering field except maybe the Oil and gas sector.

I would advice you take the banking job for these two reasons
1. You would have a stronger earning bargain if you want to go to another job with your 140K startup in the bank.
2.  I guess you are still a young guyhuhhuh You still have a whole lots of opportunity to build your career.
who says you cannot drift back to your dream career in Engineering?Still the decision is yours to make.
TravelRe: Travelled Abroad In Search Of Golden Fleece? - Share Your Experience With Us by fire4fire: 12:25pm On Jan 31, 2008
It still beats my imagination why some fellow 9ja would see one country a bird of roses and the other not!!!. A place is all about what you make out of it, and sometimes has nothing to do with location. One can stay in Nigeria and still be very sucessful,UK & US citizens still migrate to other countries, People still migrate to places like Togo,Angola,Ruwanda etc make it their home and suceed.Home is all about what you make it to be.

It all depends on your dreams and aspirations in life and necessarily does not mean making more money.Making money shouldnt be the only reason for migration.
