I sincerely pray for NIgeria that we get it RIGHT this time. Let us have election that is free of fraud and irregularities. God help Nigeria. GOODLUCK to all Nigerians, home and abroad as we welcome yet another election season. |
President Goodluck Jonathan today signed the Electoral Act into law, thus paving way for the general elections scheduled to hold in January next year. •President Jonathan signing the electoral bill into law this morning in Abuja. PHOTO: STATE HOUSE. The President assented to the Electoral Act in Abuja today following the outcry by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega, that the delay in signing the bill into law was hampering the commission’s preparations for the elections. President Jonathan also ordered the finance minister, Olusegun Aganga to immediately release the N87.7 billion requested by INEC to conduct a free and fair election. The president said during the signing ceremony that he will not allow his personal interest and the interest of his party, PDP, to jeopardise the 2011 elections. The minister of finance also said at the ceremony that the process for the release of the funds requested by INEC has been completed. The signing ceremony was attended by some members of the National Assembly. Nigerians had condemned the delay in signing the Electoral Act into law and the failure to release the funds needed by INEC, describing it as a ploy to frustrate INEC. The electoral Act 2010 amended 158 sections of the 2006 Electoral Act.To prevent incidents of electoral disputes getting protracted, it recommends the holding of elections in January, four months to handover to the new government. It also limits spendings by candidates for the election. Presidential candidates cannot spend more than N1 billion, while governorship candidates are not expected to spend more than N200million. Senatorial candidates are limited to N40 million, reps and house of assemnbly members have a ceiling of N10million. The new act also allows INEC to review voters’ register up till 60 days to the election, instead of the old provision of 120 days. Now that the Electoral Act has been signed into law, elections will hold in January next year as stipulated by the Act. President Jonathan also ordered the finance minister, Olusegun Aganga to immediately release the N87.7 billion requested by INEC to conduct a free and fair election. Nigerians had condemned the delay in signing the Electoral Act into law and the failure to release the funds needed by INEC, describing it as a ploy to frustrate INEC. |
Well, I think we are not be religious here about state creation neither are we trabalistic. We are saying we New a Yoruba State to be called IGBOMINA STATE. A typical state in NIgeria accomondate whatever your religion is atleast the constitution gives room for freedom of association and religion. All we are saying is we need a new state from Kwara state. Pls comply and let write down the basis for the state cration here. God bless IGBOMINA LAND! |
Well, let us get the State first we shall decide later where the capital will be. Thou twe have line up of Towns that can be the Igbomina State Capital e.g. Omu_Aran, Oro, Ajase, Offa, Igbaja. But the most cetralised Town/City with enough Amenities/Facilities will be the state Capital. By His grace this vision of Igbomina State will come to past. |
All Yorubas in Kwara State you brace up to get their own state by coming up with valid reasons, points and neccesity that will be a flash point in getting your state (Igbomina) created for you out of the present Kwara state,. We need to compile the Industies, Factories, and other Economic activities and means of Income/revenue generation that could sustain the proposed Igbomina state. Please all kindly list all this activities, let documents it here and use it as a basis for the NEW STATE. Igbomina State is absolutely needed now than never. Shalom! |
I think it is high time the good people and citizen of Kwara lend their voices to a new state creation out of the Old Kwara state to be calle IGBOMINA STATE. The Poeple of Southern Kwara are not Malams or Hausas as classified. The Southern Kwara will be glad to join the other part of Yorubas in the West by State creation and association. I will appreciate to get all meaningful Nigerians comment on this NEW STATE in Kwara called IGBOMINA STATE. Thanks as you give your constructive comments and contributions. About Kwara State Kwara State was created on 27th May 1967 when the Federal Military Government of General Yakubu Gowon broke the four regions that then constituted the Federation of Nigeria into 12 states. At its creation, the state was made up of the former Ilorin and Kabba provinces of the then Northern Region and was initially named the West Central State but later changed to “Kwara”, a local name for the River Niger. The capital of the State is Ilorin, which lies 306km northeast of Lagos and 500km southwest of Abuja. Kwara State has since 1976 reduced considerably in size as a result of further state creation exercises in Nigeria. On February 13, 1976, the Idah/Dekina part of the state was carved out and merged with a part of the then Benue/Plateau State to form Benue State. On August 27, 1991, five local government areas, namely Oyi, Yagba, Okene, Okehi and Kogi were also excised to form part of a new state called Kogi, while a sixth, Borgu Local Government Area, was merged with Niger State. Land Area Kwara State has a land area of about 32,500 square kilometers. Capital: Ilorin Local Government Areas There are sixteen Local Government Areas in the State. They are: Asa, Baruteen, Edu, Ekiti, Ifelodun, Ilorin-East, Ilorin-South, Ilorin-West, Irepodun, Isin, Kaiama, Moro, Offa, Oke-Ero, Oyun, Patigi. More on Local Government. Population Kwara State has a population of over 1.5 million made up of four main ethnic groups namely, Yoruba, Nupe, Fulani and Baruba. Location Kwara State is bounded in the North by Niger State, in the South by Osun and Ondo States, in the East by Kogi State and in the West by Oyo State. It has an International Boundary with Benin Republic in Baruteen Local Government Area along the Northwestern part of the State. Climate There are two main climate sessions; the dry and wet seasons with an intervening cold and dry harmattan period usually experienced from December to January. Vegetation The natural vegetation consists broadly of rain forest and wooded Savannah. The landforms consist of undulating hills, valleys and plains traversed by the Niger River and its tributaries. Rainfall The annual rainfall ranges from 1,000 - 1,500mm, while maximum average temperature ranges between 300C and 350C. With this climatic pattern and size-able expanse of arable and rich fertile soils, the vegetation, which is mainly the wooded Savannah is well suited for the cultivation of a wide variety of food crops like yams, cassava, maize, beans, rice, sugarcane, fruits, vegetables, etc. In Kaiama and Baruteen Local Government Areas in particular, the climate and vegetation are well suited for the rearing of livestock. The mainstay of the economy is agriculture. Religion The principal religions are Islam, Christianity and traditional religions. |

Dear Poster, You have gotten enough advise and support on your topic from GOOD FRIENDS on this Forum. However, these are my own version of the advise/addition. 1. What led you to her in the first place LOVE or LUST OR INFACTUATION. 2. Have both of you had any intimacy together? (SEX)? If Yes, am afraid there may be a room to doubt any of you infidelity. 3. You talk of her Age, Age has nothing to do with HIV, so forget the age. 4. If truely the Proffesional Test in Government Hospital read HIV+ Then you should know the reason it comes by, It is thru infidelity or thru carelessness of cut. If it is thru Infidelity, no matter your Love for her, You are not under any Spell to marry her, even if you both had Convenant. Except you do the same too. However, if it is thru cut, then I will advise you seek the face of GOD in Prayer & Fasting before you go ahead. My friend you got your life to live, Live responsibly. Marriage is Till death do you part, So, Pray, Look don't only follow your mind but allow the Holy Spirit to Lead you. Obey what ever the Spirit of God tells you, either in dreams, Vision, Bible, Quran, Tamud, Torah or thru your own SUBCONCIOUS MIND. If she later becomes Positive and all the stage is set for the wedding I will be clad to attend the wedding. I pray God will lead you and guilde you, he will make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you forever. Amen. |

I think Lagos State government is trying to make money at all cost not minding the masses and the electorate. It is commendable that Lagos State government has made a lot of laws but clearly most of these laws have not been enforced The other day Fasola's Administration brought out a law on Civil Offender: For instance, laws on begging, I think people are still begging on the streets of Lagos despite the existence of that law. Law of giving of arms which attract penalty. Also the issue of where a passenger is carried by an Okada rider without helmet. Lagos driver driving against traffic; The kind of monetary sanctions that are provided by those laws are out of place and ridiculous. Even a case where they said any driver that contravenes traffic reputations would be made to pay N250,000 is improper what of if the cost of the Vehicle is not up to =N= 250,000? Enforcement of law is an integral part of law making. Once a law is not enforceable, then it is a bad law. So, we are not moved by what we hear, we are waiting for Lagos State Law banning Illegal Car delars to joing other LEGIONS of Law introduced by His Excellency The Governor General of Lagos State; B. R. FASOLA (SAN)? E ko oni baje ooooo, |
