It pits agressive capitalism against unhealthy socialism. The main characters are strong and successful persons that fight parasitic government intervention. See ehnn.. y' all all need to read this book, i am not good at summaries. I will rate it 9/10.

Happy sunday FireRain.. Man from st Petersburg, very make sense old school spy story. Enjoy the ride. The century trilogy goes through three generations of families in America and Europe. It tells their individual stories and triumphs. It vividly describes behind the scenes stories of both world wars and the cold war. The second book in the series is actually my favourite World war2 book. You will not regret reading the series, this i promise.
Wow! That's quite a read. I will definitely read it. It seems Follet took a liking to war stories. smiley

Reading too much detective novels makes me to have doubts about this story...

Did he discover a terrible secret about his employer and was murdered?

Why the continuous 'alaye' on his alcoholism?

If someone is drunk, won't the person needs air to exhale freely?

Why the explanation on top opening of accounts repeatedly by his boss?

Why am I seeing his boss like Baba Wande in his elements?

It looks like a well-thought out murder. The kind Nigeria police will love(open and close)

Just kidding grin tongue

Hathor5:
I know Ken Follet but I am always reluctant to get mainstream authors because mainstream authors appeal to a wider audience and the wider audience usually does not have very high standards when it comes to literature. I might give the author a chance though. For now I have a big pile of books still to be opened.
I understand you but if you fancy historical Christian fictions, you will like Ken. Especially during medieval times, I love histories a lot not only African's but other origins too, it is enlightening and I am very picky.

viciati, thank you again, I am working on a project about religious crusade across board. This will help. wink

This shows that the so called 'woke' generation only knows about taking 'hot' 'sexy' 'one of a kind' premarital shots and forget that marriage itself goes beyond those frivolities, it requires love, longsuffering, tolerance, trust, respect and understanding. E ma wa alright. smiley

Hullo Hathor5, I am currently reading The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins, it is a thriller and very interesting filled with suspense.

Since the lockdown started, I was able to read all books on Jack Reacher- Lee Child's character, I have two books left to read from Stephen King, I have flashed through Agatha Christie books too grin

I tried David Baldacci but find him not as entertaining as Lee Child, Forsythe, Tom Clancy with the exception of Absolute Truth written by him(very compelling story)

If anyone needs a website to get books including African Authors, let me know.

Thank you guys.Let's keep the reading light burning wink

Oops, I recommend The Secret Lives of Baba Segi's Wives by Lola Shoneiye, I give it 10/10 wink
