When I was a lass, broccoli was boiled with rice served with salad(raddish, spring onions, cucumber, lettuce, kidney beans, sprouts, carrots, runner beans, sweet corn & Irish potatoes) ate the salad and left the rice! Thought it was unusual . . . Green rice. . . Didn't eat it then cos I thought it was unripe! And the broccoli- uprooted miniature baobaos! But now- bottoms up!
P.S. Pawpaw-
best eaten hard and crunchy mmmh.

@Horus
What most So-called christians never realized is the fact that veneration of the cross or any carved image(s) is a form of idolatry.
Ex. 20:4, 5, JB: ''You shall not make yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything in heaven or on earth beneath or in the waters under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them.'' (Notice that God commanded that his people not even -make an image- before which people would bot down.)
Christianity Etc › Re: Jesus Was Hung In A Tree - Not A Cross! by firestar(f): 6:29pm On Feb 22, 2008
''The shape of the [two-beamed cross] had its origin in ancient Chaldea, and was used as the symbol of the god Tammuz (being in the shape of the mystic Tau, the intial of his name) in that country and in adjacent lands, including Egypt. By the middle of the 3rd cent. A.D. the churches had either departed from, or had travestied, certain doctrines of the Christian faith. In order to increase the prestige of the apostate ecclesiastical system pagans were received into the churches apart from regeneration by faith, and were permitted largely to retain their pagan signs and symbols. Hence the Tau or T, in its most frequent form, with the cross-piece lowered, was adopted to stand for the cross of Christ.'' -An Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words (London, 1962), W. E. Vine, p. 256.

Rental ghosts? Back in the day I kept pinching my nose ter see whether I'll disappear! Them spooks!
It's just that they don't make tv shows like they use to you know, Those were the days where children had inspirations & exploited them with good intentions: artists, engineers, explorers, developers, teachers, I betcha y'all been inspired one way or the other!
TV/Movies › Re: Voltron Defender Of The Universe by firestar(f): 5:19pm On Jan 21, 2008
Ah voltron, those were the days of classic anime movies(before the show started, I'll do almost any errand!) I wonder what happened to Princess Romelle(Princess Aurora's spiltting image) & Sven(former Blue Lion)? Prince Lotor(damn his dashing looks) wanted Romelle to be his bride only to get a dirty slap from her( You go girl!) And @ d same time has a silly crush on Aurora(trust Aura, she'd rather die first!)
Other animes like G-force, The Little Prince(from the planet B-6-12, remember?), X-Men(its serial repetition is killing!), Spiderman & his amazing friends, as well as Walt Disney Classics, Tom & Jerry- Oh childhood memories(Sighs)

Driving anywhere in Lagos- and I do mean ANYWHERE, is comparable to playing the NFS sequial (with timer & all) on PS I, II, or III consoles, LIVE with ONE LIFE to get by 24/7, 365.4 dayz,
Could remember a friend who uses PS skills on the damn steering! He doesn't give a hoot on who u are , unless u dare him 150 km/hr (u get liver 4 that?!) , then he'll acknowledge ur existence! If u want 2 try 'do me I do u, man no go vex' style with that category, U may be a stauch activist in REINCARNATION! Hhen, u better mind urself!

Christianity Etc › Re: Jehovah's Witnesses And Blood Transfusion by firestar(f): 5:22pm On Oct 31, 2007
GL:
i just read a Jehovah's Witness book where they explained their aversion to blood transfusions. they say it's in obedience to God's command to keep away from blood. they argue that if you are not to drink blood you shouldnt have it infused into your system. afterall, they say, if you are on doctor's orders to stay off caffeine you would not abstain from coffee only to have it injected into your veins,

personally, i think that practice is sick, why die if your life can be saved. many surgeries require blood transfusions so why do they even go in for surgeries and put their lives at risk

i don't think that doctor should have been banned, he only respected a patient's wish. i believe everyone has the right to choose what kind of medical treatment he/she would receive.
Rather than make a conclusion, find out if there are risks associated with transfusion itself. The 'practice' as you've stated, is done with research. There are Non-Blood Alternatives which have revolutionized the medical practice worldwide to a higher standard for all to benefit. I suggest you watch Non- Blood videos by Jehovah's Witnesses which educate the public on choices fpr the safest health care for eveyone, including doctors.
Christianity Etc › Re: Jehovah's Witnesses And Blood Transfusion by firestar(f): 4:07pm On Oct 03, 2007
Is that true? The story, I mean? There are alternatives to transfusions as blood is a dangerous drug ever to be administered. Even doctors affirmed this fact.
