could you shed more light on this perfidy of some nigerians, the groupbuy.

earthrealm, first, the "perfidy" is not in reference to the group, it is "some Nigerians" that l am emphasising, using the group buy as an example.

Have you taken custody of your own Cells, now?

EDIT: I have decided to take down my earlier post because the Seller has been appealing to me and promising to "make good" my loss.

I am trusting she will.
I am also asking that others who have quoted my message, should please Edit/delete my post out of their response.

Thanks to @Valto for his endless intervention (I really appreciate you Boss) and Thanks to @mctfopt, for his contributions, it takes a brave and upright person, to stand on the side of truth, while others are playing the Ostrich.

There is this ongoing debate on twitter on most Nigerian's artisan love for lack of aesthetics/mediocrity. There was even a whole lecture by that late prof (Pius Adesanmi) that died in that ill-fated Boeing 737 Max crash in 2019.

Here a twitter link of the lecture: https://mobile.twitter.com/AdeolaFayehun/status/1105051630876016641

We don't bother much on aesthetics, you need to see the issue I once had with an artisan for not wrapping a cable back with the cable spiral wrap (attached below) that came with it. He said and I quote, "Will the lack of spiral wrap make the cable short circuit or not work?" Lol. He was willing to let it dangle anyhow as long as it works.
angry

Just imagine o! angry
Where it cannot be avoided or where it is a personal, DIY Project, one can understand but where you, as a Professional, rendering a Service, "aesthetics and adherence to Standards" is very important.

https://qz.com/2130711/electric-vehicles-make-it-harder-to-quell-fire-on-felicity-ace-cargo-ship/?utm_source=YPL

Lithium-ion batteries are fueling the fire on a burning cargo ship full of Porsches

The cargo ship Felicity Ace is aflame from bow to stern with a lithium-ion battery fire that can’t be put out with water alone.

The fire has been burning since Wednesday (Feb. 16), as the ship drifts in the Atlantic about 200 miles southwest of Portugal’s Azores Islands. Its 22-person crew abandoned ship and was rescued on Thursday.

The ship left Germany on Feb. 10 and headed for the US with about 4,000 Porsches, Bentleys and other luxury cars aboard, and some of those were electric vehicles. It’s not clear if the batteries contributed to the fire starting in the first place—a greasy rag in a lubricant-slicked engine room or a fuel leak are the usual suspects in ship fires—but the batteries are keeping the flames going now. A forensic investigation will take months to determine the cause.

On Saturday, João Mendes Cabeças, captain of the port of Faial, the nearest Azorean island, told Reuters that the batteries in the ship’s cargo are “keeping the fire alive.” Cabeças added that reinforcements with specialist equipment to extinguish the fire were on their way. At the time of the interview, the fire hadn’t reached the ship’s fuel tank, but was closing in.

Large quantities of dry chemicals are needed to smother lithium ion battery fires, which burn hotter and release noxious gases in the process.

Pouring water onto the Felicity Ace wouldn’t put out a lithium-ion battery fire, Cabeças told Reuters, and the added water weight could make the ship more unstable.

Lithium-ion batteries pose a special fire risk
Electric vehicle fires are rare, but pose their own kind of flammability risk, and one that becomes heightened as EVs go mainstream. Large numbers of EVs grouped together, as when they are transported by cargo ship, or electric buses parked in an overnight lot, raise the risk that one flaming battery could ignite a chain reaction in adjacent batteries. According to a research proposal at the National Academy of Sciences’ Transportation Research Board, “Lithium-ion battery fire risks are currently undermanaged in transit operations.”

There have been more than 35 large lithium-ion battery fires since 2018, Paul Christensen, an expert in lithium fires, told the Financial Times, including a 13-ton Tesla megapack storage battery in Victoria Australia that burned for three days. An electric ferry in Norway caught fire in 2019, and in April 2021, a battery fire at a Beijing mall killed two firefighters.

In addition, car-carrying ships and ferries can face higher risks from fires, according to insurer Allianz Global’s head of marine risk. Due to the internal areas not being divided to make it easier to transport cars, when a fire starts it can spread more easily.

One day, One trouble.

Doing wonders?

See, the result of the work of a coach takes months to show. Not weeks.

What you're still seeing is the result of the previous coach's work. People always make the mistake of giving new coaches credit for the work of the previous coach.

When a Premiership team changes Coaches, does it take Months or the next season for the impact to show?

Hello house. I'm about to order a panel from jumia( lower delivery fee, compared to 5k from other nairaland sellers). How can I tell if this panel is truly 150w once I take delivery of the product?

- Check the reviews first, if it is a dubious seller, you will likely read bad reviews of previous buyer of the same product

- Lay it flat on the ground, on a clear, sunny day (insulate the leads to avoid a shock), use a meter to check the current produced.
- Multiply the current by 12v, to get the Power it produces (P = IxV).

That should give you a very rough and close Power estimate of the Panel. (less very small power loss and panel inefficiency).
Most Chinese Sellers as not as bad as their Nigerian Version, though a small fraction of them are a replica of Alaba Baranda boys. grin

i don't believe u are that serious. and have not reached out via WhatsApp for days now. however the group buy is all but concluded, but u can stil gatecrash, if u are fast enough. (note, it takes 3 to 5months to arrive). At the present air frieght rates, u might end spending close to the amount u bought the cells. btw, there is 16pcs brand new cells available for sale at a very affordable price.

I am also worried by the 3-5Months timeline, that one really shook my liver,

I will reach out to you this morning Sir, concerning the 16cells.
My apologies and appreciation at the same time.

Thank you for this offer, l really appreciate.

Airfreight for cells is a hit or miss, worked for someone and received cells within 2wks while the it took about about 6wks, as shipper encountered problems and had to reroute tru honkong.

You are better off buying cells from trusted people in nigeria, as cost of airfreight will gravitate towards same amount at the end.

Valto should be able to guide/fix you up.
If u move quickly, you may be able to latch onto the groupbuy, 3 to 6months is the freight time

Thank you so much Sir..
If l may ask, can you recommend someone trustworthy that sells New Cells in Nigeria?
Do you know any freight forwarder who can do it by air, if that is an option l have to take?
God bless.

yes u can buy the quantity u need individually and get it shipped to Nigeria.
shipping lithium is very sensitive, only few shipping company accepts it.it takes approximately 4months . u can buy at your own time. feel free to WhatsApp me for more details. cheers.

Thank you very much Sir, for your input, l really appreciate you.
I am also hoping other gurus in the House will contribute more suggestions for me.

Can l ask
: Do you have an idea of how much it may cost me to get it down and cleared in Nigeria (if you have done something like that in the past or have knowledge of how it is done?
Do you know anyone who is about Shipping to Nigeria, who l can partner with, to reduce cost (I am thinking there are people here who are currently or about to buy RE things from China, as we speak).

Is there no other way of getting this Cells down here, without Waiting for 4Months?
I cant remember where l read on this thread, that though such Materials are rarely shipped by Air but that they do Ship them by Air, after paying some amounts to the Airline/Agents (Na WeeWee )

Good and Experienced Men of this thread,

I made the below Post because l was hoping that there are people here, like me, who want to use LiefEPo4 Cells/Batteries for their Solar setup.
I have read somewhere on this thread, where a few people came together to import a Pallet of the Cells and l think that is a wonderful way of reducing Cost. That is my objective, for making the post.
The post received 6likes but No Single response, so l am wondering what l have done/said wrong.
I am hoping l can get something quick for next month but dont want to buy ready-made ones.
Maybe its is because it is a newly registered use that l am or probably because l mentioned that "l dont mind using my account"?
Yes, l have a foreign bank Account for some years now from which l can pay from but l dont mind paying from my Naira account as well and we can also do it from any members account.
All l want is just how to get the Cells from China, at a cheaper rate, especially Shipping and Clearing, which are not things l am very familiar with.
Light in my area has become unbearable and l have kids that are suffering from the heat. Going out at night to fuel/off generator, not to mention the noise, is affecting my sleep as well.
Biiko, make una help a Brother

Please,
Cc: Niyi,

Penuelseun,
Earthrealm,
Ojeysky,
Adrusa

and many more Gurus whose username l cant remember off-hand, make una help una boy o! Me too, l want to enjoy this Sun Power as you are all doing.
Last Option : is there a way l can buy just what l need (if l dont get others who need it to come forward) and get it down to Nigeria within like 4weeks, at a very reasonable Shipping and Clearing Cost? Who has experience in this? Who is buying something from China right now and can add my Cells to his package and ship down and clear it for me?
I am ready to go and it is very frustrating that l cant make a way forward.
Please help. if anyone has any question, l am ready to answer it.

Thanks

Good morning Elders of this House.
I have been a silent observer here but l have been reading and reading all the wonderful contributions of the Pioneers of this thread and l have always been wowed. You have all taken what was just a hobby into another level and helped others to benefit from it.
After reading so many wonderful things here, la m convinced l will get the needed help from the good people on this thread.

I want to also benefit from Solar Power so l can run my household on Solar.
My observation is that Batteries are a huge draw back of most system l have read about here and so far, most elders have been recommending LifeP04 Cells. I checked around and cant find the Cells to buy except on websites like AliExpress.

But the Cost of Shipping, Clearing and buying in Small Units does not make it economical for an individual.
I have also read where a few people came together to buy a Pallet or Two or three and Ship together, which l think is a wonderful synergy and a show of the level of trust among these people. And l commend the initiator.

My Questions:
Are there people out there like me, who still want to buy LiFeP04 Cells RIGHT NOW?
Can we pull resources together and buy/import from China, like a group did recently?
Can the former Group help us in this regard?

I want others to please contribute.
I dont mind using my account to pay for the Order (I dont have a forex limit on how much l can spend from my Account because it is in a foreign bank), once we work out the rates.

Please, l want this to work as l an envious, in a positive way, of what the other group did.

Right now, the Sun is just causing Heat for me and l want my own pound of flesh, by using it to work on my AC's

Thank you Sirs
