Polaris1: Please educate me more on this Solar Pump. What are its advantages or how one can get the best out of it. How many Flats can this serve (on the average)? I want to replace my Normal Pumping Machine, it is "hugging Power" on my Solar Battery Setup when it kicks in, at time in the night (its on a Flow Switch so it comes up whenever water is low) Is there a 48V version? (My Solar Panels are 48V each) |

GeorgeD1: I thought l was the only one who bought original Canadian Panels from them! The way l recommend them on this thread, you will think they would be kind enough to Waybill one 625W to me unannounced. Even their Axpert King Inverter is strong because it has suffered in my hand, nor be small and it is still working like Mad. 3 Likes |

HeadofNairaland: A lot of people have given the useful lifespan of the used one as two, three years. From the post above, we can say that (100K / 25yrs) the panel costs 4k for every year of use. Thus, assuming the maximum lifespan of a cracked one is Three years, then it should retail for 12K max. if we further discount it for "performance drop", maybe it should sell for 10K each. Now, that is a real "steal" or Armed Robbery Price. Edit: it all depends on how much useful years the Buyer can still get from the product. That is something no one can predict 6 Likes 1 Share |

Trippledots: But you can get Original Canadian Solar Panels from Genex technologies, who are their Main, Authorized Distributor in Nigeria. In total, l have bought over Panels of about 10,000W from them and No issues at all. I have placed links here, for their Canadian Solar Panels and Inverters (which l also use) so others can benefit but l am wary of the spambot sending me to jail. https://shop.gennextechnologies.com/product-category/solar-panels/ They are in Lekki Area of Lagos. 2 Likes |

Godliftedme: The same Company l mentioned above, (Gennex technologies, Lekki, Lagos), sold my Panels to me and they were ORIGINAL Canadian Solar, not the 'Put Sticker' types you get in that market over there. Browse their website and see if you see what you like there. I saw a 375W Canadian Solar on their website, https://shop.gennextechnologies.com/product-category/solar-panels/ Caveat: I am a DIY User, not an Installer/Supplier 1 Like |

gadgetplanetng: Watched the Auxano/BOI Video. I must say l am thrilled that we have started from 'somewhere', guys lik that need all the encouragement they can get, to go "Automated". Having said that, l must also point out that there is a difference between Assembling Solar Panels and Manufacturing Solar Panels. What l see in that Video is a Company into "Assembling Solar Panels". I did not see anywhere they Manufactured the Solar Cells, which is the backbone of a Solar Panel, they imported the Cells and then began to put them together. But it is a good start, Rome was not built in a day. With a good enabling environment, Govt can use its Diplomatic leverage to "buy Technology" from the Chinese/Russian/Asian Govts in a BOT arrangement, for our Entrepreneurs. The Europeans and Americans wont sell such technology to us, they prefer we are always in a begging position, so they can continue to arm-twist us into submission. 4 Likes |

I am also sure that it is a good thing, if five honest people can pull resources together, to establish such effort. $100,000 is not really much, if we can get the technology and input Materials together. Peterlove11: Inverters are Power-Conversion Equipment, they do not GENERATE Power of/on their own. 5KVA Inverter simply means it can CONVERT as much as 5KVA of DC Power, to 5KVA AC Power, assuming a Power Factor of 1. (and does some 'switching' jobs as well) In the day time, it is your Solar Panels that are actually Powering your equipment, your Inverter is just converting the panel-supplied DC Power, to AC Power. At Nigh time, it is your Battery that is supplying the power, not your Inverter. I believe that all the above Items are not powered up at the same time (Pump = 1500 -2000W? Iron = 2300W? Cooker = 3000W? ), Most likely you are staggering them. 2 Likes |

emyfine08: I would think anything above 3kVA should be 48V setup, to reduce loss due to heat and/from high Current! What is your total/continuous load? (1500W?) (Is this Night time continuous load or just daytime?) 10KW Felicity might be something like 8KW in reality Can you measure the Output from your Panels? When did this start? Since you installed the Batteries or recently? What is the Solar Panel setup arrangement ? (all in Series or 2p6s) Do you use the Solar Setup DIRECT, during the day time (because if you do, 4440W Panel in total, if we remove losses in wire, shading, etc might be supplying not more than 3000W. What portion of this do you use in daytime and what portion is left to charge your Batteries? At 1500W continuous load, your battery should last around 8000/1500 = 5hr.30mins approx (assuming 8KW real battery Power) Looks like your Batts are not fully charged and it cant carry your load through the night. Felicity LipoFe4 is a "Closed System" otherwise, l would have suggested that you interact with your BMS by way of Bluetooth and see the state of Charge/Discharge of your Cells. Reason why l dont like all these "preoperatory systems" of LifePo4. Let us also hear from others with more insight |

brightk: Cost of Labour is a function of Cost of Living and Earning Power, in any Economy, Nigeria is No Exception! If Labour were to be Price Higher, then the Cost of the Final Product will be Higher. If Cost of Product is Higher, then the Income of the Buyer has to be Higher. In an Economy were the Basic Wage is #30,000 per Month (and some are still paying as low as #10,000!), Cost of Labour can only be as Cheap, for it to be affordable. Can anyone in Nigeria, pay the Equivalent of $3,000/2,500 Euros PER MONTH (#1.5Million), for a three bed Flat, as they pay in those economy where Cost of Labour is High? That is #18Million Per Annum, while we pay #1M Per Annum for the same type or even a better Flat, here in Nigeria. If l may also add, Solar is not expensive, it only seems so here in Nigeria because we are too lazy to use our brain to manufacture anything and the Govt is populated by a bunch of mediocre who are only concerned with Looting the Treasury. What does it take to produce Solar Panels in Nigeria? Dont we produce Batteries (Berec Batteries, Exide Batteries) in Nigeria, in the 70s/80's? These are the two major expense in Solar Setup, if we set our priorities right and stop enriching China, every house can have a Solar Panel and Batteries for backup at night. Please forgive my rant, e just dey vex me at times. 6 Likes |

durodee: I have been using the same 5KVA Gennex Hybrid inverter (with 15Units of 585W Panels) for some time now, with No Issues at all. They charge 32 Units of 280Ah LifePo4 Cells in 16S2P. You can browse their Website linked below, for the different ones they have now. https://shop.gennextechnologies.com/product/gennex-axpert-king-5kva-off-grid-inverter/ As per Cost, l think they are mid-range and value for money. @ #391K for a 5KVA, you cant beat that price! I will even suggest you buy 8KVA, instead of 5KVA, since it appears that your consumption is already close to the limit. I am planning on buying a 2nd Gennex Inverter as backup but it will be 8KVA for Certain. One cannot predict Electronic items not to fail at all and having a plug-and-play backup "online" and ready to go is very germane, in my own opinion. JUO: If it was still under Warranty, then it should have been replaced with a new One, depending on what caused it to stop working (I know some damages are not covered by Warranty) and if it was out of Warranty, then repairs should not cost almost close to the price of buying a New one! It is good to hear that you are eventually sorted after that experience. |

tsiriman: If we judge by Popularity and spread of use, l think the Daly BMS is the best and most used . But they can be pricey, which ofcourse, you would expect from a product that have stood the test of time. I also think they are about the easiest to connect. A Noob like myself, connected Two units of 200A Daly BMS to 32 St`rings of 280Ah LiFePO4 Cells (16S 2P) and they without any hitch! But there appears to be cheaper variants of the Daly BMS as well though l will rather use the "original", if l can afford it and that is a personal policy. Edit: reading later, what @NiyiOmoIyunade wrote and knowing that he does this for as a Business, l will defer to his opinion since l have not used the other variants and his experience will be very valuable in that regard, so far, l am enjoying both Dalys, without any issue with them 3 Likes |

JUO: Waoh! I feel for you, on your bad experience with Gennex technologies. Can you give us more details on how your Inverter went bad? What was damaged in it and what caused it? What are you paying all these money for (#230K ! Is that for just repairs?), when the 5KVA VMIII inverter itself costs just about #395K or so ? (cant remember exactly how much l bought mine) . I have friends who have been using their Inverters for over two years now, mine is about a Year old and not for once did it have any issue, despite the abuse l have put mine through because it was DIY all the way! I have had Inverters (non-hybrid) in the past and the experience was not good but the current generation of Genex VMIII Hybrid Inverters are very rugged and all the reviews l have read so far, have given it very high marks. And their response have been wonderful even as l bought all my Panels from them as well and these are very high end Canadian Panels (595W) x15. They were very supportive during the installation, despite the fact that they were not the ones that l chose to install it (Company Price!). Anyway, I can imagine the stress you went through, What is beyond Six, is more than Seven, as they say 2 Likes |

uniqUN: To be honest, l am not a fan of separate Charge Controller and Inverter. I dont even consider it a cheaper option, in the long run. Some say it gives them control over their PV aspect of their setup but it is like someone choosing a Manual gear Drive over and Automatic Gear Drive in a Car! When l bought my first Automatic gear Car in year 2000, all my friends said l am "mad" as l wont have "firm control" over the Car. about three years later`, following my experience, they are all converts of Automatic gear. I think if you use a Hybrid Inverter, it is cheaper than buying them separate, it saves you money of cabling of the two separately and the hybrid has an efficient way of managing the two together and with more advanced Hybrids in the market, they have become more reliable and have large Charging Current range. But since you have bought the MPPT Controller already, l will suggest you not restrict yourself to that small Inverter, if funds will allow, buy something like 1.5KVA, Pure Sine Wave Inverter, these things get obsolete, very quickly, in terms of your requirement .in the nearest future. Sorry for the late response. 1 Like |

Mykeolinks: For a Hybrid Inverter, you might want to consider this 3KVA Hybrid Product from Gennex Technologies. https://shop.gennextechnologies.com/product-category/inverters/ There is Certainty that their Products are Original, What you are buying is Original and you are not bothered or worried whether what you have is a lemon or just stuck with a "label". Their 3KVA Hybrid @#220K is a good choice, in my own opinion It can work without battery and has a factor of 1 (energy loss is almost Zero and it is a high Voltage Inverter that can take Panels to almost twice its capacity) I use their 5KVA Hybrid Inverter and am about to. even Upgrade it to 8KVA, so l can go off the Grid completely. It is very, very rugged and they are currently doing "SALES". Their Panels are Original, "Canadian Solar", expensive but the best, in the market. I have 9KW of those Canadian Solar Panels on my Roof right now. The choice of LiFePo4 Cells offered by @Valto is a a good one. You will need to buy a Daly BMS, say 8S, 100A (I am not sure if he has that in Store right now) or from China. (AliExpress) And we can all guide you on how to set it up here. Rotimi47: Forget all these slanted, Propaganda news. Slovakia supplied the ONLY S-300 it has, a symbolic show of force, for such a tiny country. It did so because America promised to replace any country's Arsenal that was sent to Ukraine. Even Poland wanted to use the opportunity to "UPGRADE" its Fighter Jets from the Soviet era MiGs Fighters to American F-16s, so it sent 29 of them to Germany, something needed next door in Ukraine, and asked America to take it to Ukraine by itself. . America refused to send them to Ukraine by itself and asked Poland to come and carry its stuff, if it cannot send it to hi sneighbour that needs it. That day, l nearly died of laughter. If Solvakia doe snot own the S-300 that Russia destroyed, how come it is telling its Citizens not to worry , that the "Allies" have assured them of Security and new patriot Sysytems?
