He did another one recently when he posted his ambitions for the new season.

Truly, it takes more than mouthing to be the best thing to ever happen to football, if not the whole of sport.
Neymar left Barcelona for PSG and generated more than 260k tweets. (Whoops, Interesting)
Ronaldo left R/Madrid for Juventus and generated over 800k tweets ( Fantabulous)
Now, Baba has caused so much uproar by sending a four-worded fax ( I want to leave) and we have over 2.5M tweets in about 12 hours. Funny thing is, there are claims that he's not even an active Twitter user..
Now that doesn't even interest me so much...
When other players want leave their parent club or lucrative "comfort environment, " it's a zeal to search for better, and more clinical challenges, but when Messi tries to do that, he's leaving his team in critical times.
When others stay, they are being loyal, but for Messi, he's afraid to try out new things....
Dears Cules and other reasonable football fans, open your eyes, there are levels to this SHIT... |

fourfourfour: what you are expecting is from someone who loves their club or even their country. They don't just work out when the situation isn't right or doesn't suit them.
Imagine referring or comparing him to legends like Totti who stayed no matter what, who at times got bench but remained faithful till the end. I've tried to avoid responding to most of your posts but it's obvious you'll continue to wallow in what you call "sense" if nobody addresses you. So, I'll answer you with questions on this one!! First off, on what grounds do you have the right to compare Messi to Totti? Was Totti a playmaker, winger, striker, dribbler, midfielder and assist maker (all, at once) in his time? Did Totti singlehandedly win as much games as Messi did? Did Totti suffer under the mediocrity of his fellow teammates when it mattered most or during the last years of his career? Was Roma as established as Barcelona with someone who has tasted absolute supremacy now having to deal with crumbs? How dare you compare Messi to Totti? |

sebod: I honestly wouldn't blame Messi for wanting to leave the club he has played out his heart for. The board has obviously been the worst I have ever seen in recent time. The useless board obviously wasted the genius prime years by their abysmal signings and lackadaisical attitude.
I personally wish and hope the President and his board vacates the seat of power while Messi stays to help groom the team while the club starts planning for a life after the football god as he is being gradually phased out. Messi and probably Pique (with limited role) are the only Players I would like to still have out of the group of the old guys around.
However, should he decide to leave which he is justifiably entitled to, I would love to see him reunite with Pep at City. the genius deserves to enjoy football again before he finally hangs his boot. But, the club will surely miss and suffer the loss for a while and the situation can only be salvaged with a good coach and the right board and not the shameless ones we have around. Bless you my brother. |

tesppidd: It's all too clear to see that Messi really spoilt these ungrateful Barca fans.
Completely spoilt and over pampered.
Even the champions league they are crying and biitching about, only Real Madrid have been more successful than Barca in the Messi era.
Real Madrid 4 Barca 3 Bayern 1 Liverpool 1 Chelsea 1
Why is Messi winning the champions league so much bigger than all the problems of the world.? I tell it to you bro that Barcelona have got the most unappreciative fanbase in the world. If not, I still don't understand how a sane fan will sit down and analyze how Messi leaving the club now will bring good tidings. One even said it's just postponing doomsday and another said it'll give us the chance to create a team that isn't dependent on one individual. One question I'll like to ask is, when has Barcelona not been dependent since the Post-Ronaldinho era? Jose Mourinho admitted that he had to look for a tactics to contain Messi in the UCL semi-final against Inter Milan to work us out. Messi was Injured against Bayern Munich in the 4-0, 3-0 trashing in the UCL and we all know how it ended. There are many other instances but make I no dwell on that yet. These were times when we had Mastereos on the pitch in every department. But what happened since these people left? We became shadows of what we used to be. Any game Messi is playing badly cannot be won and the highest we can go for is a draw, even against middle-ranked clubs. But still, this man managed to pull us through times when necessary and won us games against Roma, Liverpool ( all first legs) and even delivered Napoli on a platter. You'd think Barcelona will appreciate every of these gesture and at least step up the fight for us but No, the idiots think that it has to be GOAT doing wonders always. And now, some cules think that if he left, we'll recover from the shock... I'm not a pessimist neither am I a prophet of doom but I tell it to whoever cares to listen that we'll need more than a miracle to be remembered as a team that once held the world of football to ransom. The oga patapata of my annoyance is somebody even saying that Griezman will step up to operate more freely... Like WTF is a Griezman? Animal, place or thing? Make una allow Messi leave first, suffering for 600 years will be a harsh reality we'll be embracing. |

tesppidd: See this kain kindergarten analysis.
In this year's UCL Henderson had a chance to score against Athletico but passed to Salah who missed.
Kroos had a chance to score agaisnt against Lyon but passed to Benzema who missed.
It happens in all teams, all the time.
What stench are you vomiting?
Lewy has been scoring for Bayern, if Muller Disn t score agasibt Barca and Coman didn't score against PSG, can you say 100 percent Bayern would have won the UCL?
I last year's UCL if not for Messi do you think Barca would have crossed the second round?
Was someone else like Suarez or Dembele not supposed to play their own part and score 1 goal against Liverpool? Only 1 goal?
What kind of kai kai analysis be all this one sef? Some people need excessive knocking on their head to rid off selective amnesia that has clouded their sense of reasoning. Let them continue spewing nonsense. |

DissTroy: Jon Snow! Messi is the only reason Barcelona still has a "pattern of football". Barça's signature football style has been tiki taka. All of Barcelona's era of dominance have been heralded by the tiki taka style of football - the early 90's, the late 90's, the mid-2000's, Pep Guardiola era. All of those nostalgic periods of dominance were so because of tiki taka and fit-for-style players. Messi is the one true Barca player left who still embodies the tiki taka philosophy.
Any other pattern of football isn't Barcelona. There's nothing to discover - it's like a whale trying to see if would thrive in the Sahara Desert.
The Luis Enrique era murdered tiki taka and the only reason Barcelona has been dominating Spain and winning medals in the last 3 years is simply due to Messi - topping scoring, assists, passing and dribbling charts all by himself. Winning games all by himself.
Stats don't freaking lie! You want to become ike Real Madrid fans who have cruel selective amnesia? Tell one single player who has consistently and singlehandedly decided the fate of his team like Messi in the last decade? Mention just one with statistics and I'd come with mine to counter you.
Who has been there for him? Who has held it together when he was injured? Has he not forced himself to play even without fully recovering seasons after season? Has he not come back to top all charts? Messi is the reason Barcelona hasn't spiralled down to the level of AC Milan in the last 3 years. Yes, fans and players would beg him; and, mark my words, there'd soon be a crowd on the streets of Barcelona begging Messi to stay. It's never happened but it will happen. That's how reliant on him Barcelona has been. You have oil in Ya head... |

Brother, the problem is not us rebuilding after Messi leaves. The problem is how we are really going to manage. Definitely, Messi will leave at some point but bro, we should have a team that has worthy replacements to help solve how things should be done. Messi is basically the only person that knows Barcelona better and trust me, until he's able to impact every of these departments, we might never get to peak of being one of the best clubs again. |
