modath: She was able to withdraw cash, so the card wasn't declined, she is probably one of GT customers card holders who are unable to use their cards @ WALMART...
GT don't like cash back, so they don't allow their cards work @ walmart, a few do but it's really low..
How ya doing? Sweetie how u dey? Gt definitely hates Walmart. I totally agree. I know dey r the most reliable even with their rates. |

favoredgal: Apply again and alone...isn't that what everyone has said? What more do you want them to say nah
A couple of people applied as a family first and had better luck when they applied as individuals even our dear Ozycy
And stick to the questions asked, you don't know the reason for the VO asking any question. In your mind what is a medical question anyways? Cuz why will a simple question such as how much do you want to spend throw you guys off guard? Isn't that a normal question, it's at that point you should have even answered and passed your budget sheet
The apply alone advice is not necessarily because of what you said about your Dh but if method A doesn't work, try method B nah. They can serve as your tie to come back home and also since your income isn't 'much', it may make sense for only one person to be applying based on that amount
Anyways best of luck Hellomosquito In addition My guess is u have read a few pages and equipped yourself in terms of people's stories, those who were rejected and later granted. Budget sheet Correspondence etc There r similar stories to yours (not d rudeness tho) Pray too Goodluck |

If u r flying Lufthansa get fit to fly from port health. They are uninformed about the 36 weeks tingy... So print the page It was quoted, And have data to show them if dey won't wanna see d print out.
I had to go back home becos one oversabi nuisance who isn't even sure of her job said I'm not fit to fly. Even though it was rectified the stress isn't worth it abeg.
I remember the nuisance telling me I shouldn't have indicated how many weeks I am on my fit to fly. And make copies of ur fit to fly. Aside the counter at d boarding gate I was asked for it. Imagine I don't have an extra copy? And I know it's d nuisance that asked d lady to come and ask me.
To think it was a partner flight tingy....

nupital: Good Morning House,
I am very new to Nairaland but this forum has opened my eyes to different scenarios in the venture to give birth in the US. It has been really helpful and i commend everyone that has contributed to make the thread this popular and informative ( i was referred to the thread by a colleague).
Our Story:
Myself and my wife got married in early 2014. She got pregnant in September 2015(4 months gone) and we would like to have our first child in the US. We have both traveled Ghana (vacation in 2013) and Tanzania (honeymoon). She has never applied for a US Visa. I applied in 2013 but was refused stating that i do not have strong ties to Nigeria. I was not married then and my entire family was and is still based in the US (all citizens). We want to be completely truthful to the embassy and the VO with regards the pregnancy. We intend to apply for the B2 visa(medical). We have seen some hospitals in the Phoenix, Atlanta and Houston in the range of $5000 - $7500 and we are pretty fine with any. We are both employed having a combined monthly salary of about N450k monthly and should have about N4 million combined as at interview date (looking at March 2016).
My questions are:
1. Is the Medical Visa the best option? 2. Should we apply together or separately;should she apply first then i apply after or vice versa ( seeing that i have been refused based on the ties to Nigeria)
3. Would the N4 million be sufficient to convince the VO that we have enough funds to sort the medical bills. If not, kindly suggest.
4. Should we make a deposit for the hospitals bills ( as i see some people paying and some not paying). I also saw a RED FLAG from the embassy saying that applicant should not pay the hospital bills before the interview.
Thanks House! Congratulations on ur pregnancy... Yes o, she's preggy u r preggy too 1. Just apply for the B1/b2 visa... One stone to kill two birds. 2. Either is ok.. But for the sake of strong ties I suggest she applies alone and then U apply later 3. I think it's enough, but then it depends on d VO. This u have to kabash... 4. There's no need to pay until u get to the US. Paying doesn't increase ur chances. But preparedness does. And of course prayers.... |

debrixxy: Hello house I'm actually not new here, I have a question to ask. I've read some pages but couldn't find answers. My question goes like this: I currently have a U.S Visa which bears my maiden name along with my Nigerian passport(I got my passport before I got married). I used it for birthing purposes in 2014 which was the same year I got it. I need to renew it next year because I intend to travel next year. The thing is both my Nigerian passport and my U.S Visa will expire in June 2016. I intend to renew both using my new name. Please what is the best way to go about it, is it going to be problematic or shld I just renew through Dropbox using my maiden name. I need suggestions please. it's simple Go to Abuja because that's the only place change of name on passport can b done. You can get it the next day sef. Then u can now attach ur new and old passport together with rubberband and do ur drop box. |

I didn't even think of it like that. Posh404: Congratulations firsttymum and welcome back Thanks dear Posh404: Won't be due till August o...still have a long way to go lol. Just want to equip myself before then. Please I won't mind information on affordable hospital and doc. I can see most people tend towards Texas and doctorsepirati. Though my dad is in newyork but that doesn't determine anything....na bill be the mail thing. How soon do I need to contact a doc over there. NB : No state or hospital in mind yet.....any advice is welcome from my experienced mummies in the house . Thanks u still have plenty of time... U can do the change of intent later. U can start contacting Dr's don't forget to add accommodation to the bill and know how much in total. New York u don't need to pay for accommodation vs paying for accommodation in Houston for example. Just keep reading the thread it will help u make up ur mind |
