If your goal is to live abroad then you better stay in the UK and get yourself settled. Getting yourself into the system still requires getting married to a citizen whether you're in the UK, US or Canada. Why migrate to another country when they all have about the same procedures (Marriage) to getting a green card, permanent residency etc.

This is what I keep telling people but they never listen. These Nigerian and African music is unheard in the international scene. No one listens to African /Nigerian music here except the Nigerian community here. Why would they put her on the main stage when her music isn't known. African artists Tuface, Dbanj, Psquare, Davido, Wizkid.. All of them are local artists and never heard abroad. ONLY the Nigerian community listens to their music here.

jakaiso:
I dont know too much about immigration issues-thus you might want to get more facts from an expert. But if you have a student visa for 2 years-thats a lot of time to do something good. Most student visas preclude you from working-but sometimes you are allowed to work on campus.
I suggest that during that time-explore various options to extend your stay including but not limited to:
1) Extend your course of study-like a further 4 year course.
2) Seek opportunities for employment after you graduate-such that the employers can hire you and get you a visa.
3) Establish a business while in the US -people with businesses in the US-have a path to permanant residency-(and if by any means-you have a business worth $1 million-or have $1 million to invest in the USA-then you have an almost automatic green card-through the business path-although one might ask that if you have $1 million-why are you leaving naija!!!)
4) Contact an immigration lawyer when you get to the USA and explore other options.

Bros no be by years ontop visa oh! Na by Status. Person wey collect 2years visa no go school tink say e still get 2 years na mumu. If them catch am na naija straight. Drivers license e no go fit get, state ID e no go fit get. SSN e no go fit get...

ezo4fta: To live there. Pls how can I extend my student visa, incase of expiration or how do I get their papers. Thanks in advance.

If you're not in school or attending classes, your student visa status will be terminated regardless of how many months or years you still have on it. All you'll have is your naija passport with US visa on it, but that visa is useless because you're out of student status when verified. However you must note it'll costs you tuition and attending classes to maintain your status. If your papa no be Dangote to afford the tuition, then sorry. Your student status is what matters most to stay legal and not your visa. The visa is just a pass for you to go out and return but you MUST maintain your status. Your visa could expire and you'll still be legal if you maintain your status.

You are authorized to work on-campus only and part time only(20hrs max). However you can work off-campus but after your first year in school.

Travel / Re: Best Areas To Live In Ibadan by fittty(m): 1:07pm On Dec 31, 2013
roga: There are so many good places to live in ibadan. To consider closeness to your place of work, I think you should try felele or soka area. They are affordable and nice place, 2/3 bedroom flats should be around 120-180k. There are good places to live also along the express that wouldn't be far from BAT. Unless you don't mind coming from far place to work.

OP follow this advice. It's the closest to your work place. Congrats, you have a good job. smiley

OAM4J: My dear upgrade to internet banking. Dont be afraid of someone stealing your money. To me it makes things even simpler and easier. Also saves you the stress of leaving home and queing at the bank for hours.

I heard it cost about N3,000 to activate your internet banking. Websites do ask for an activation code before purchasing things or services online kine
