Gyokeres, Madueke and Eze are team players that provide a different profile from what we know. Their roles is unique under Arteta system.

We expect Gyokeres to be that 30 goal a season, a goal a game striker but he is not here for that. He is here for depth.

Madueke is not a Saka type winger. He is a chaos creator. So expecting him to be a Saka is not correct. He is doing what Arteta wants. Come into a game and disrupt the opponents tactical change.

Eze is a luxury player. His job is to create sudden flashes of brilliance that the opponents would see coming. He is he type of player that can decide a game with just one act of genius.

When we can judge them is at the end of the season.

Fair arguments but,

Gyokeres is not here for depth and we don't expect him to be a 30 goal a season striker, its who he is/was at Porto.

Its why we signed him in addition to other expectations.

If Eze is a luxury player then what are we going to say about, Bellingham, Olise and Mbappe yet they perform week in week out.

What is even luxury player for a game that is highly competitive and instant impact/results is the demand?

About chaotic players, if that is what Arteta wants, then madueke is failing at it because Calafiori is doing better than him in that aspects.

My observation about Eze, Madueke and Gyokeres is that they are playing like they are comfortable with the present level they currently are. They are all playing like players who are comfortable with being squad players in a star studded team. They are not playing and giving it their all as if they want to challenge and become starters in their respective roles on the pitch, they are just giving vibes of players comfortable with their current level which is definitely not the top level.

I can liken it to a staff working in an organization who is just content with getting his basic salary and bonuses paid to general staff. He is not really interested in exceeding management's expectation to be considered for promotion, special performance bonuses or any other reward due to exceptional staff.

Eze plays like he's not bothered starting from bench even if it is to play substitute goalkeeper. He doesn't even show that hunger to come off the bench to perform and put the coach in a difficult position on whether to start him or bench him in the next match. Madueke will come on to play for Saka and make you see why Saka must always start ahead of him.

As for Gyokeres, I don't even know where his head is. At least even if he can make the kind of runs and positioning Havertz brings to the game, he should try score chances when they present themselves. We bought him thinking we needed a natural goalscorer; a fox in the box, but he has been struggling in front of goal with his heavy touches and mechanical movement.

Something definitely needs to change in these Trio's game , or else we won't have them to rely on when our regular starters are either injured or need rest (which will surely happen sooner or later)

Gyokeres issue is somehow. I don't know how someone as built as him will have physical and techincal limitations.

Madueke and Eze own are mentality issues.

Eze is having that arrival mentality, his goal was to get back to Arsenal, having achieved that, he doesn't think he has anything to prove again.

Madueke is just Madueke. Playful yet, not smart.

It is for this reasons Kylian Mbape is currently my favorite player. Mentality choke.

Saka and Madueke vex me yesterday.

I have a friend currently sitting in my DM eager to put any liquid he can lay his hands on into buying Dangote refinery shares at the IPO. My guy just wants me to say the word "GO" so he can buy as many shares as he can afford. I just told him to allowme till weekend when I will be less busy so I can send him voice note on the dangers that comes with this kind of IPO Dangote dey do.

If I don't know of anything else, at least I know of Daar Communications IPO which my papa and so many optimistic investors had their money trapped into after fully subscribing to the shares @ N5 per share in 2008. The Daar Communications stock was on a steady decline for years that it was even below 50 kobo per share at some point. I remember the last time I had a discussion with my old man in 2021 about AIT and Dokpesi name came up, baba dey cuss Dokpesi for the "scam" he package give them at the IPO.

While I understand the gingah wey dey everybody to buy Dangote shares because of the prospects of the refinery earning dollars in the future, I think most Nigerians do not understand that revenue does not necessarily translate to profit.... Neither does it mean the share value will even appreciate to exponential levels.

As someone who has always been risk averse, my advice for people who sort my opinion on this Dangote IPO issue is for them to take things slow. Me Personally I won't buy the shares at the IPO; I will wait for the post-IPO dip and buy then see what happens in the future. I don't want to buy shares that will be valued at N525 at IPO and then after 2 years the same shares will be around N200 to N300.

The refinery definitely has prospects, but there are some cons too with refinery operations. All these yeye wars here and there fit affect feedstock and affect the chances of the refinery operating at optimum capacity. When that happens, profit may dip. Nigeria playing host nation to the refinery does not even have enough feedstock to give the refinery and imported crude may be affected by factors beyond the control of Dangote refinery itself. So, make people no go put money wey be their life savings for investment in refinery in its infancy years.

Whenever any of my friend asks of my opinion, I always end it with a caveat, "do your own personal research and the ultimate decision is yours to make"

Although, Dangote has also admited that the funds raised will be channeled towards their expansion project. But like you rightly stated, its best to wait and see what happens post IPO.

He is also looking to expand into the east african market, so that could be an indication of the growth pottential of the company.

One mistake people make is that, they believe that once they buy the stocks, dividend would start flowing next year not considering the fact that the company might decide something else depending on whats their business goals for the year.

On a side note; I won't be investing for selfish reasons because as a retail investor that I am, why would I be contributing towards growing dangotes networth instead looking for creatives ways to use that money in building my own company

Jokes apart, the hype surrounding this IPO calls for caution.

I think one IPO that has been successful of recent is the MTN own in 2019.

Atleast, investors reaped and are still reaping the rewards of their investment despite the setback of 2023.

As in......I was so pisssed with that nonsense agenda Ian Wright started with that Martinelli talk. He just got unnecessarily sentimental , more like he wants the manager to keep fielding Martinelli even when Tzolis has been an obvious upgrade.

If Someone like Ian Wright has gone into coaching, he would've been a very terrible coach with bad results because of the sentiments/bias he would be attaching to decisions around his team. I have never been a fan of unnecessary attachment to players , especially when they are not at their best. That thing has never helped Arsenal over the years.

I hope we sanction Martinelli's sale and get a decent replacement to bring fresh energy into the team. If we want to be a team to dominate at the top for some number of years, we will definitely have to make such tough decisions which will pay off for the club in the long run.

That being said, Alvarez will surely fit into this current Arsenal team considering his playing style and skillset. I actually see what Arteta sees in him; If I was in Arteta's shoes I would also try to sign a Player like Alvarez on my team if the opportunity comes.

Anyways, let's hope they have other plans for other players that can bolster our attack cos we will need as many top quality players as we can have in this team to challenge on all fronts for trophies this year.

Let it be on record that Arteta had more faith in Martinelli even more than we the fans self.

There was a time we wanted him sold badly because he has failed to improve his game for the past 3 seasons.

Would he rather we keep him on the bench till we have space for him in the team?

I understand players can have a deep in form, but martinelli own has to do with IQ.

He relies too much on speed instead proper reading of the game. Thats not how to be a world class player.

Alternatively, we should keep him as back up striker and let Jesus go pending when we can get a proper striker.

But we are not going to leave him permanently on the bench, collecting salary, while his market value depreciates.

I don't really think it's an obsession per se. I think we genuinely wanted him for his skillset and talent, but he was looking at remaining in Spain.

With Athletico blocking his move to Barca (A direct rival), he may have no choice but to move elsewhere. That means he will consider the other teams who are bidding for him & willing to match Athletico's valuation(Arsenal happens to be one of those teams).

I don't see anything wrong with Arsenal getting him eventually if he has a change of heart since he has fallen out with Athletico and their fans seemed to have turned against him.

I don't think he will perform poorly or have an issue if he eventually joins Arsenal irrespective of whatever drama that is happening with his transfer saga currently.

What if he uses Arsenal as a step stone to obtain his dream move to Barca.

That aside. I am of the opinion that we should look else where, as there maybe better option.

Take a look at Tzolis, I was't even aware he played at Norwich, he wasn't who you would consider world class, but he is cooking right now.

My point is, I watched Alvarez in this last WC. He is good, but not to the extent we are obsessing over him.

Ofcourse, it doesn't take away the fact that Arteta admires some of his skillset and can greatly improve him, but I no like make one player they use my team as a rebound.

Somebody needs to speak with Dowman, he can't dribble everyone on the wings particularly when he has made way into the box; he should know when to lay a pass to teammates and also know when to shoot. If he gets few opportunities and keep doing unnecessary dribbles, Arteta will most likely bench him and never look his side for a long time to come.

I think it is a very big risk for this team to go into the new season with Ben White as our backup RB/ placeholder for Timber while he is out injured. We really need a young and in-form RB. Ben White is finished and obviously can't compete at the highest level anymore. The guy has lost it; each time I watch him play I am very very convinced that he is finished and does not belong to a team like Arsenal .

He doesnt provide enough defensive cover for the CBs as much as possible.

Even that young Juliene impressed me more than him yesterday.
