It will be very strategic for some reasons. His continued detention does not do the government any good. The worst case scenario is that if he is released, he will run back to proclaiming Biafra or death.

But it seems his people already deserted him at least at the surface. Now some are Obidients and some are Biafra apologists. They will collapse internally as there are now two factions. Releasing him has far more gains than loss.

The government will now have every reason to just clear him once and for all of he still proceed to foment trouble after that.

It can be for a year for sometimes but there needs to be a concern, should this not work can’t it be reintroduced in the next, so you are saying the budget is sacrosanct however if budgets are a reflection of the law then it can’t be sacrosanct because no law is sacrosanct
