You should know that during the Dark Decade in Algeria (1991 - 2001) when the Algerian army and people fought valiantly against the terrorists, the algerian terrorist leaders were all installed in France and Western countries, being invited on the western televison platforms and media, they were supported by these western countries . these Western countries even imposed an embargo on Algeria during this period to bring it to its knees in the face of their terrorist ally that they were arming .

Same for afghanistan . who created and armed the Taliban movement, according to the Americans' own admission, to fight the Soviet Union in the 1980s?

same for iraq, syria, libya, these countries were prosperous and modern, the extremist islamist influence did not exist there .who destroyed these countries? , who first supported these terrorist groups? , who bombed the governments and armies in place in these countries while arming these so-called opponents Islamists? aren't they the same western countries? .

- also they domestically produced the Eljazair 54 and Eljazair 55 based on UAE Yabhon United type drones
- Leonardo-Finmeccanica facility is build in Aïn Arnat, Algeria , it will be finished soon and will produce AgustaWestland 3 light and medium helicopters in few month

I'm more surprised by Algeria. They should be building a lot of Russian tech in the country by now.

They don't have any significant defence industry there.

Thats true , russians are not known for technology transfert , they are mostly present in big maintenance facilities in algeria , and for the billions that are spent every year we should have a better defence industry,

for algerian military industry , they work mostly with east europ countries , germany , emirates .

for naval industry

there is the ECRN company in Mers el-Kébir naval base they produce loccaly :

- the Raïs Hassan Barbière class , 62m long locally design and built, in 2017 . ( on the pic 1 ) equiped with 4 x C-802 missiles launchers , 76 mm PJ26 canon , 347G and Type 363 radars , CWIS Type 730 30mm
- the Djebel Chenoua class 58m long . locally design and built, 3 built since 90's (pic 2.3.4) equipped with 4 x C-802 missiles , 1 AK-176 (76mm) and 1 AK-630 (6 x 30 mm)
- the Kebir class patrollers 38 m long ( 12 built ) ,
- and many other smaller boats + maintenance

there was in last years many reports of big fregates that will be built locally ECRN company like the Meko A200 but we have seen nothing until now

to add some facts not well known in nigeria

- algerians like all maghreb population are not racially arab , they are majorly berbers , there is a lot of genetic studies about the subject .
arab invasion in the 7th century changed the religion , influenced the language but no invasion army (40.000 soldiers at that time) can change the genetic of a hudge popualtion like north africans . specially that the true arab population that live in arabic pininsula are not hugde . most of the arab armies were from converted foreigner populations to islam . same case with egypt , irak , syria ect... were there was big civilisations and large populations before arab invasion came . ( they are not arab by genetics too)

- berbers are the first inhabitant of the maghreb , the first civilisations , kingdoms in this region since antiquity were berbers , no black civilisation have never established there before them .

- they are called arab by definition because they use the arab as first official language but are not arab by genetics .

and most important , the name africa , africans was the name during antiquity of only a part of north west africa ( tunisia, algeria, lybia now days) , this name africa was generalized to the rest of the continent only hundreds of years later . so maghreb populations are even the first and original africans and its always funny when i read some one saying , no they are not africans
