Nigeria’s 2019 presidential election is impending. As citizens of Nigeria, it is incumbent on us to vote the right presidential candidate and not the most loved or the most prestigious. In light of this, i have gathered some tentative tips that will help to make sure that every citizen of Nigeria, make the right choice by voting the right leader for this country.
It is pertinent to note that this article was not intended to support any political party in Nigeria or to oppose any. It is only to guide every Nigerian; to make the right choice in the impending 2019 general elections. So, if you are a patriotic citizen of Nigeria, and you really want to see Nigeria grow, here are some things you should consider before voting in 2019. Do not allow politicians to deceive you with their sweet tooth.
5 THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE VOTING ANY PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE IN 2019
In Nigeria, we often consider the manifestos of politicians as the yardstick for voting, but this is not absolutely right. If we really want to vote the right leader in the impending presidential election, below are some things we must bethink.
Past deeds of candidates:
Before voting, Nigerians often forget about the past deeds of the candidate they are voting into power, and this is not right. The truth is that, politicians can disguise themselves just to make sure that they win any election. Sometimes they even make derogatory comments just to bring disgrace on their opposition. The only way to save yourself from being bewildered by their radical behavior, is to flash back at their past deeds.
Trustworthiness:
Just like i stated before, Nigerian’s care much about the manifestos of politicians and not how trustworthy they are. For me, It is better to vote for a person who has little manifesto but trustworthy, than a person with super-great manifesto but not trustworthy.
In the past 20years, Nigerians have been cowed by the inspiring and delighting manifestos of politicians. But the truth is that, they will never fulfill those promises. So, if you really need transformation in Nigeria, vote for the most trustworthy presidential candidate in 2019.
Ideology:
An ideology is a collection of normative beliefs and values that an individual or group holds for other than purely epistemic reasons. It is the core or basic idea of a government.
Before voting in the 2019 elections, it is wise to consider the ideology of the presidential candidate you want to vote into power. Note that the ideology of a political party is different from it manifestos. A manifesto is a published declaration of the intentions, motives, or views of the issuer, be it an individual, group, political party or government. These motives may not be the basic ideal of that particular government.
Transparency/Accountability:
Transparency is another thing you should look for in 2019. Nigeria have had many leaders in the past, who secretly looted the whole money in the country without anyone noticing that such a thing happened. That is not the kind of leader we want in Nigeria this time. So if you really want Nigeria to move forward, vote for the most transparent and accountable leader. If you don’t know who is most accountable, inquire about their past administrations.
Agility:
Agility is also very essential. There is probably no citizen of Nigeria that don’t want an active president. Well, this is the time for us to vote one into power. Now, you maybe asking, “How do i know the most active presidential candidate in 2019?”. The answer is simple. Analyze them using their past leadership experience. There is no better way to what these politicians are capable of doing, than going through their past life.

folahann: That is the question. There is this general believe that all lawyers are liars but I know some that are very good Christians, does it mean when the enter the court they forget about being one. I know the might not be necessarily saying the truth i.e hiding some part of the story in order to favour their side. But this is completely different from telling white lies such as framing up stories, giving wrong info etc. I know of course some of them lie but is it a general thing.
Interesting views are welcome from people from legal practitioners and their children
