but i feel if val must be celebrated then it should be done the right way!

Valentine day is a day of love. its a day in which love is shown and received. And there is no better way to show love than to those that are in dire need of it.
Valentine day is not a day for you to lust, have meaningless sex, exchange material and egoistic gifts to people who would under appreciate them or take them for granted. there are many other days for that.
on val day, you should show love to those people you've been neglecting, those poor folks, disabled and sick people, orphans, abandoned children, widows and old people, etc.
now I'm not talking of going to that popular motherless babies home or destitute home, dropping cash and items, then cant wait to get home. that's not love, its pity.
charity they say begins at home, remember that poor family, yes those your poor neighbors you've always pitied, why dont you invite them and give them a treat of their lives.
you know that poor kid in your neighborhood, yes the one that's always on rags, looking haggard and hungry and unkempt, that one that makes you blame the government. why dont you be the government to him/her, show him/her love that they will never forget in a lifetime, that will make them believe in humanity again. he might be a would be terrorist, armed robber, murderer, but with your little show of love it could go a long way to save not just the day but the future!

think about it, Tuesday(tomorrow) is valentine, show some love, to those who actually need it!
