Some people in the comment section where Dauda law victory was announced were wondering how Matawalle lost zamfara state to PDP. There were 3 factors involved;

1. People in Zamfara were generally tired with security issues and non performance of the governor, his in the class of Ortom, Ikpeazu and Ishaku, that's how incompetent he is

2. Former Gov. Yari never forgave Matwalle for his disrespect and insults thrown at him by Matawalle and his boys! To make amends seeing he will lose re-election without Yari's support, he quickly gave Yari the senatorial ticket to appease him

But Yari still didn't forgive him knowing the governor will still come after him after winning his re-election.. so Yari tricked him and played along knowing the senatorial election will come first. So when he won the senatorial election, he turned back and supported PDP

Yarima, shinkafi all were working for PDP indirectly, so it was more of APC vs APC

3. Remember Matawalle impeached the son of General Aliyu Gusau, that's the genesis of his problem. Matawalle could have rigged in his favor, but he find it extremely hard because General Aliyu Gusau totally Militarized the state.. every nook and cranny was stationed by soldiers, the responsibilities of police and other security personnel were taken over by military

The same way you said "they could announce the final results during the next morning", is the same way they could announce it in the night too, which they did! There is no where in the constitution stated it can't be announced in the night, it doesn't have to be your way!!
