PoliticsNorthern Elders Forum Denies Adopting Atiku As Consensus Candidate by Flathead8(op): 5:14pm On Feb 23, 2023
Alhaji Seidu Baba, a member of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), says the forum has not adopted former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, as a consensus candidate.

Baba made the clarification on Saturday at a news conference in Abuja.

According to him, though, Atiku has been scheming to be endorsed as the sole candidate of the North, NEF has not endorsed him.

He dismissed the claims that the NEF’s 10th Anniversary was to adopt Atiku as the consensus candidate for the North, “Atiku has no credentials to be a sole Northern Presidential candidate”.

Baba said: “There was an attempt to cajole and even force the NEF to adopt him (Atiku), shows how desperate he is.

“Many people believe, that although the Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-rufai, was condemning Northern elders, it is believed, his real target was Atiku Abubakar.

“There is no way Atiku can be a Northern candidate because he does not know them and we do not know him.”

“It is believed Atiku got wind of his rejection the reason he failed to show up at the NEF Assembly and could not send any representative.

“Atiku has not been seen as somebody who is closed to the North, because he has not been fair to us.

“He is somebody that have his base outside the North.”

SK Christians are bunch of noise makers, they are equivalent to Ibo/IPOB, just chest beating and hype.. even in SK, there are about 40%, muslims but they like to portray like the area as 100% Christians with the help of media
LocalStandard1:
These are Muslims now? Is Southern Kaduna where I am from now a Muslim dominated place?

Lol. Atiku is really desperate, your people will vote for you as Fulani Muslim, we will vote Labour Party. Nobody should take last minute organized rallies seriously, this one especially is fake!

How about all his "millions" of decampees in Kano, Katsina and other Muslim dominated Northern States? Cus I heard they've decamped again back to Kwankwaso. grin

How come Labour Party has grown to the biggest and most favorite to win and I've never heard up to a thousand at a single time "decamping" to the Party?

I'm in Nasarawa State too, keffi precisely.. Atiku can't win Nasarawa, he will lose slightly.. there is no way Abdullahi Adamu as the party chairman will let his state slide, that will be monumental embarrassment!!

Not forgetting Al makura, incumbent factor

PO won't probably get 25%, but will get majority votes in karu, mararaba, nyanya which should have naturally gone to Atiku
Think9ja:
Obi should only expect Christian votes from Urban areas in Middle Belt. Rural Areas only understand PDP and APC. I personally I'm 100% for Atiku and I'm in Nas State. Muslims on the other hand are divided btw APC and PDP.
This is the bitter truth.

PDP is very likely to win Nasarawa State but with a very small margin. I won't be surprised if it even goes to APC.

Obi will not get 25% here. May be 15 or 20 percent

I'm a northerner, I reject the assertion that Atiku has more grounds than Tinubu in the north. Because his a northerner, doesn't mean anything to us!

In NE, Tinubu us winning;

Borno
Yobe
Gombe

In NC;

Kogi
Kwarra
Niger
Nasarawa

In NW;

Kebbi
Zamfara
Kaduna
Katsina
Jigawa

The worst results Tinubu can get from the north is 50%

The Southwest Will Not Surrender What They Built For 30 Years For An 8-Month-Old Media Sensation
Independent Feb 23, 2023 8:58 AM

Tinubu and Obi

Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu of blessed memory brought APGA towards building up to the 2003 presidential election to give his people a political identity after seeing that it will be easier to fight from within than outside. His people rejected him and followed “Fulani-inspired party” (PDP).

The Southwest has voted in one direction since 1999. In 1999 they voted for AD. In 2003 they voted AD but were rigged out, but Tinubu went to court to reclaim the mandates.

In 2007, they wanted to vote for AD’s Adebayo Adefarati who died before the election but were overwhelmed by the malpractices of the 2007 general election.

2. MegaMillions – MPU
In 2011, the name changed to ACN, they started their bridge of moving northwards, bringing in Nuhu Ribadu as her candidate but supporting Goodluck Jonathan, because the agitation in Niger Delta was at its peak.

PDP zone Speaker House of Reps to Southwest, seeing that this will increase PDP presence in their zone, moved to support Aminu Tambuwal to become Speaker against the wish of PDP.

In 2015, they allied with the north and dislodged the incumbent
In 2019, they voted to support the north to keep Buhari in power.

This is how the Southwest has evolved politically. On Saturday, they see it as a day to enthrone what Obafemi Awolowo and MKO Abiola could not achieve.

This is how they have voted since 1999, waiting to have their time. So, you expect them, to sacrifice their lifelong dream for an eight-month-old media political sensation called Obi Movement?

Make no mistake, the southwest, Kogi, Kwara, Borno, and Yobe will vote for Tinubu on Saturday. Atiku has more ground in the north than Tinubu, he does not have a southern base.

N’digbos hear this, if you want, after Saturday, burn bridges. Declare to go, and call the winners names. Even the Goodluck and South-south that lost in 2015 have moved on. They have so moved on that APC dislodged him from Power, and bought a presidential primary form. If you like, after Saturday, and it does not go your way, burn every bridge and come back 5 months to the 2027 election and mob people to accept your political interests. Concentrate on middle-belt and far northern minorities that this Obi Movement has opened up and build your political structures in Nigeria.

2023, shall be determined by Religion in the North, Interests in the South, Sentiments in the East, and Ethnicity in the West.

Nigeria is a complex project.

Atiku Campaign DG Accused Dino, Others Of Pocketing Campaign Funds*

The Director General of the Atiku Okowa campaign council and Sokoto state Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has accused the spokesman of the team as well the director of mobilization of pocketing some monies meant to be shared to members and stakeholders as mobilization fees in some Northern States.

According to a reliable and trusted source the Atiku/okowa campaign has dolled out billions of Naira to some selected stakeholders and members across the country to be used as mobilization fees ahead of the upcoming elections.

Dino Melaye in his dual capacity as both the spokesman and the director of mobilization of the campaign has been nominated to lead the distribution in the Northern part of the country.

It could be recalled that earlier this month Abuja Network News had reported how Dino Melaye and some key PDP stakeholders smuggled a whooping N50 billion new Naira notes out of the CBN coffers.

Independent investigation by Abuja Network News later finds out that the money was part of a N120 billion Naira credit facility belonging to Delta State Government. And how the money was meant to be shared to some key Northern states.

It was against the backdrop that the director general of the campaign and sokoto state Governor Aminu Tambuwal was said to have accused Dino of using his office to corruptly enrich himself from the campaign funds.

Tambuwal was reported to have informed the Presidential candidate and some major stakeholders how figures and some bank documents in his possession shows that Dino Melaye has diverted some of the funds for personal use.

It was also reported that some key northern stakeholders who were suspected to have benefited from the largess and some that have interest in the Atiku Presidency were doing everything possible to calm nerves and keep the issue under locks and key until after elections.

But sources close to Tambuwal says he is adamant in probing the allegations and making sure that Dino is not allowed to handle any fund disbursement during the elections to avoid a repeat of the said incidence.

Dino Melaye on his part was said to have denied the allegations and blamed Tambuwal of trying to tarnish his hard earned reputation.

Atiku cannot be president after buharri, that's an injustice. Southerners and Christians all over the country are already opposing Atiku.
