My brother, the people affected are people who built houses in the river benue flood plains, some houses are like a few meters to the river bank. Makurdi is dry except for the flood plains that belongs to the river. Where I blame govt is for allowing people erect houses there. Sad though. Teewhy2: |
This is a very inspiring writeup my sister, may Allah make it easy for us all and may your efforts yield the desire fruits. |
Very sad that such a young man will pass away probably at the point of his glory. May God rest him. But I want us to take our eyes off govt for a minute and focus on the people that drive these vehicles. They are very reckless, speed without thought and in some cases force oncoming vehicles off the road because they want to overtake. The transport operators must be regulated. How can you be going at 120km/h on a bad or winding road? |
Did anyone in this section even bother to watch the program? Fareed explained further that the Nigerian leader went to London to seek treatment for an undisclosed ailment after duly handing over to his deputy, he then added recent pictures of buhari with state governors and said the president is faring better now. I watched it. |
Countries are looking inwards in the new world order, yet Nigerians won't stop the craze to import. Local production is how solid economies grow, serious economies are built on long, sustainable indices-not get rich quick/instant results policies. For any brand to become global it must first dominate it's local market. Innoson isn't interested in doing business, they want contracts where they can supply cars and make their money quickly, they don't want to compete with the global brands on ground. Innoson should focus on the nigeria/west africa markets and target 1 in every 10 west African to own an Innoson vehicle. No one wants to know what tribe he belongs to-let him make a good car and give me reason why I should buy it. That is what the global brands do. Caliente: |
Agriculture is a value chain-some focus mainly on inputs and all, some make more money when you plant, some focus on farming and that's all, some others come into the pix when the farmers harvest, some others wait at the market for these guys to bring so they can buy and process, while some will rather buy the finished material and eat. It's a chain where value is exchanged, no one person can do everything as you will be exposed to too much risk. That market is in order, you have them like that for every commodity even the tomatoes that you consume. DaV8King: |
FYI mama gold rice is Nigerian rice produced by OLAM. They buy from markets like these. Bullhari007: |
It dint occur to him then when he was was eating yam, now after amassing stupendous wealth at our expense nigeria for him is now a slave camp, and he wants out.... benedictnsi: |
2014? Law School to CMS in a multi-passenger taxi? Law school to CMS and you passed through Falomo? Well, maybe you are one of those who avoid avoid buses and marwa cuz u waiting for cheap vehicle. Well Thank God it did not come to pass, but I no too believe you sha. |
Here in Vietnam you have UBER and several other brands on Okada I mean the regular Vespa o! Would be nice if the okada business is better organized so there will be public confidence in it, cuz bigger and more advanced economies in Asia have embraced okada as a means of commercial transportation so I wonder why naija with its transport challenge won't accept it. |
Most farmers now prefer to sell their produce to the Chinese and Indians who apparently pays them more. The issue of union is also a major factor as they tend to hike their prices arbitrarily and lay it at the foot of unstable exchange rates. There are places you can get a tuber of yam for 350/tuber, yet in lagos same tuber costs 1k-for what? The only explanation they give you is things have gone up and that's all. |
Nice one Op, but I think you were unfair to Kabo Air by mentioning it's small mishaps which are very common in the industry, yet you failed to mention the uncountable nos of air returns between arik n aero contractors. There are about 17 B747 jets parked at the AKIA (Aminu Kano Int Airport) in Kano. 6 carry the MaxAir livery while the rest are Kabo Air. Mind you, of this number only one appears cannibalize, the rest were parked due to non activity. Those are areas that an airline like arik that flies London, joburg and new York can partner Kabo for lease of these jets. |
