Is Abaribe, distinguished Senator, supposed to be the one building roads? |
Closet or open Atheist? |
This is good writing.. easily understood. |
Good and factual write-up. I guess Nigeria's case will always be different for reasons unknown, or maybe not. As for the name, it was probably easier for countries with smaller populations and ethnic groups to come together and make a unified decision. It may still happen here when or if we get to a point where we decide to move forward TOGETHER, after all the trouble. As for staying together, the English have had a particular interest in Nigeria, namely money/oil and other trade. It pays them that we stay as one. The biggest factor in us staying together is external, for the interest of another nation. Not enough people know this yet, and so action for change is limited. The people of Nigeria were forced into one country because of one british company trying to hold on to it's business interests against another country. It's still the same. We are just bigger and therefore harder to bring together to make proper and well informed decisions. Greed is killing us, every nation for itself at the moment. The time is here though, when some questions will have to be answered or life will answer them for us through war and disintegration. |
More.. 11. Push for legislation to compel companies that have huge turnovers to sponsor at least one sports tournament a year. 12. Make sure all schools in Nigeria, both public and private, learn and sing the national anthem every school day. 13. Public private partnerships for all government schools apart from a few selected ones to be fully run by the government in all federal zones. 14. Public private partnerships for prison construction and management. 15. State of emergency on clean environment. |
1. Make sure the government is sincere about implementation of true federalism and resource control. 2. Finish NIN registeration FOR EVERY NIGERIAN. 3. Push for full local government autonomy. 4. Enter into public private partnerships for road construction and hospitals all over the country. 5. Make sure the percentage of the budget allocated for education is fully utilized for it's purpose. 6. Hire mercenaries from South Africa etc to partner with our armed forces and combat the bandits harrasing Nigerians. 7. Make sure every radio and TV station has at least one program a day that speaks on national orientation, etiquettes for better living, good driving behaviour and other things that help the younger generation become more aware of ways to improve the society. 8. Quicken the pace for starting state policing. 9. Start gradual restriction on importation of pharmaceutical drugs that can be produced in Nigeria. 10. Make sure history, Nigerian major languages, and entrepreneural studies are taught in all secondary schools. All these, even if I don't succeed in putting all in place, will lay a solid foundation that will quicken development and peace. |
Next thing they will say Sunday is for worshipping the sun God. . |
It's simple. He's starting in the north where he has more support from APC. This is the takeoff. He hasn't gone to the South-South too for the same reasons, momentum must be built up. There's time still, and thinking about it, he's the first strong politician to really show his hand and start an informal campaign. He must test the waters first before going to more unfriendly grounds. |
I want to thank you all for your well thought of replies. It's time we begin to address issues in ways that add to our development. It may be religion and spirituality, but it so happens this is an integral part of the way Nigerians think. Let's make this a habit and help ourselves to learn even more. Thanks again. |
I arrived Lagos a few days ago and have been really impressed by the rate of expansion both economically and structurally. It seems that this city has developed into a beast that is running amok in the field called Nigeria. All over the island, as the the axis comprising Lagos island, Victoria island and vicinities around them are jointly referred to, infrastructure is being built to mimic international standards as much as possible. The government in Lagos has been a progressive one since the Advent of the former AC governor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who brought in a tradition of putting proper structures in place to raise, control and utilize finance, and make sure the rights pegs are put in the proper places where it comes to governance at different levels. This has been a huge endeavor and as they say, nothing good and worthwhile comes easy, and luckily Lagos is still in the hands of good governance. The transformation of Bourdillon Street in Ikoyi, one of the most valuable streets to own property in Nigeria, into a beautiful place well worth its name, is applaudable. For years under military rule many roads in Ikoyi were abandoned and left for dead, pot holes filled full lengths and the potential allure was stunted. Billion Naira houses were raised on the sides of dilapidated streets that created an awkward image. Sadly, a lot of them are still left looking like there is no hope. Lugard road is a case in point. I could not help but notice though, how Ikoyi is quickly but surely turning into a commercial centre. Only a few areas are still reservadly residential. The feeling is one of almost certainty that given a few years, most of the island will be overrun by businesses. This has made the more oppulent of the area move into gated communities like Banana Island where their peace of mind can be guaranteed, as the construction of public amenities and security are left in the hands of the more reliable private sector. Other communities like the new Eko Atlantic City are being built, to give residents a more organized life which even the wealthiest of society rarely experience in Nigeria. With the speed at which the state is thriving and the impending influx of both business people and tourists, one thing I cannot comprehend is why debris still litters the coastlines of Lagos, in plain view, stuck on the sides of jetties and even bars and restaurants by the sea. It's an eyesore and needs to be tackled with urgency. In every major City in the World - of which Lagos has joined that category, tourism is considered one of the biggest earners for businesses, whether it be Paris, London or New York. I cannot help but wonder if foreigners don't think the fish they eat in Lagos restaurants are caught from these trash infested waters. Given, Lagos is presently focused on activities associated with economic development, and creating an environment for investment, however, cleanliness is necessary both for image and health. Maybe the reason for this neglect of trash in the waters of Lagos is due to issues that make sense budget-Wise, but the number of years this problem has existed begs the question of whether they are thinking about it at all. Are there no solutions that can guarantee that the cleaning of the shorelines and beaches will create more jobs? Is it impossible that a PPP( Public Private Partnership) with the government can result in economic benefit both for the state and potential investors? These are arguments I believe should be had. Lagos is now one of the biggest economies in Africa and deserves to be seen as a leader in the welfare of its citizens. The neglect of prime property, be it roads in the most economically viable places like the Island, and the waterways of Lagos, can easily give the impression that behind all the economic and infrastructural development, lies a small possibility that it's all a facade. No one wants that feeling to linger, and sometimes, the things that look too big to handle, may only need solutions that are too little to notice. Digzo Moi. |
That's why Jesus said he came to show you the way. That's also why ALL his disciples died gruesome deaths for the gospel. Suddenly we know more than the disciples and would rather chill in air-conditioned temples. If you're not ready to die for Christ you're not going to any heaven. Jesus said preach the gospel to the world. Go to Iran and see if you won't join the disciples if you decide to preach on the street, in one far village there. |
If you say belief in God is useless, then you're limited. I'm not judging you, I have no right. I'm just stating fact as reality is dynamic. Are you one of those people that in the past could have been saying man could not go to space, or the world was flat? There is always a possibility that ANYTHING is possible. Don't assume we know everything because we read texts from hundred years ago. Learn from history, don't follow blindly. Belief in God can be beneficial, or may not be, depending on what you think. What do you think? |
The life Jesus lived showed us how difficult it is to live by the truth. We all talk as if once you use your mouth to say you have accepted Christ everything is good, no matter what you do. ALL THE DISCIPLES DIED FOR FAITH. Are you ready to die for what you believe? Take a minute or more and think about that honestly. That's why he said it's easier for you to go through a neadle's eye than for you enter heaven. |
It is by knowing the Truth of God and obeying it that you are set free from Sin. That is what Jesus Christ taught. So whether you have sinned in your past is of no meaning. What matters is what you choose to do after learning of the Truth of God. Does this mean that once you become born again you're free from evil? Then why pray for the strength to resist temptation? I'll answer that. It's because you have the capacity to sin, and that possibility is a part of you. This is the battle Jesus had in the desert before he made his final choice. He was tempted. And he overcame, as a being that could understand good and evil. Are you able to do that? Are you sure you have lived the kind of life Jesus did to be able to talk with Satan and overcome? Jesus said he is the way. That is, he is the example of what you should be...to be able to act like him and find your way to salvation. Nothing is free my friend. |
I will come out straight to say where I stand. Good cannot exist without evil. If you think it can, how can someone be said to be good without evil people around to use as a gauge to decide that? What is evil but the concept of what we do not like. This is why something that is evil in one country is considered normal in another. Indians do not see the worship of multiple gods as evil, but Nigerians do. Are one billion Indians going to hell? On the reverse side, what is good in one place can be evil in another. If a traditional man has ten wives and becomes a Pentecostal Christian, is it ok for him to marry extra wives? Will his pastor advice him then to divorce nine of them? It is generally accepted that a good and perfect God created Lucifer (who then turned evil), and that same Lucifer became Satan who now lives to perpetuate evil in this world. Did God not know Lucifer would become evil and rebel? If evil is what an individual or society does not like, and good is what is accepted, that means if the same individual or society has a change of view, the roles of evil and good can be interchangeable. Which is why Jesus in the Bible said, "he who has no sin, cast the first stone." Also, "remove the log in your eyes before looking at the speck in another's." Basically saying that all have sinned, and still have sin in them. Is sin not evil? "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Evil exists naturally in everyone, how you combat your urge to act on it is the difference. Denying the existence or even usefulness is denying your right to view your progress in doing or being good. Good cannot exist without evil. The balance between them is the key to Truth. |
Maybe it's time to let a WOMAN save the MOTHERLAND.. |
It’s simple, there has to be a way to work out tax from alcohol paid to the federal government, not going to states who hate it. |
I DO NOT SUPPORT THIS, but when they were killing husbands and wives, children and dependents, did they not know they were destroying families? |
So who is the “messiah” you want to bring for us in 2023? Realize this, corruption has eaten into the soul of Nigerians and cannot be banished in a few years(not even in far more developed countries). What we are looking for is someone - even if he is known to be corrupt - who knows how to fix systems. Tinubu has proven he can do that. Low hanging fruits are the best for quick progress. If not, name the saint that won’t be bulldozed by all the hungry, wicked and desperate politicians we have. |
Rubbish talk. The day this will make sense is when these “new Nigerian women” accept they also have a role to play as stipulated in the same traditional rules that made men the bread winners. Men should wake up and smell the coffee, stop listening to these lies that slow your progress. |
Na today? |
Sirjamo:Please let us know your solution to this problem. In other words, what should a mother that lost her daughter and has no political power do? |
For Atiku they were shouting he’s a thief, he’s a thief, he’s a thief! Na so una allow Nigeria continue like this. Tinubu has come now, you’re shouting the same thing. We with our own hands will bring this country down. |
In the state that we’re in now, I think it’s logical to conclude that ANYBODY that creates jobs for others from his own hustle is a role model. It’s not easy, even if you have connections. Believe. |
This is the problem with Nigeria, and Nigerians. Whether you pray or not is not the issue, it’s the unavailability of a workable way to make people, that want to kill this country by their greed, accountable. |
My God! There are? |
What if your best is not good enough.. ? |
These ones don’t know that to ask EFCC to do anything, you must have power.. |
