1)As mentioned above, haulage biznes- tipper, trailer, tanker
2)Transport ie buses for long trips eg Abuja-lagos. It takes a while 2 garner reputation bt once u do, its ok
3)Farmin - cattle, fish, poultry. Its more medium term returns so its advisable u av somethin else for income
4) Hospitality - Hotels, restaurant. Won't suggest nite club cos I had my hands burnt wit this
Location is essential.

5) Not so much a biznes bt investment- PROPERTIES ie lands, hostels, houses. Just look out for cash strapped ppl willin 2 sell - Dats life.

Finally, no matter what u invest in, SIT WIT IT. Don't bite more dan u can chew. Once u feel u don't av the time 2 man-mark it, STOP there. Goodluck

AutosRe: Mack Tipper Truck (1987 Rd Model) 4 Sale@4m-07035039114 by flexya: 11:43pm On Jun 19, 2012
stpat1: I'm offering 3.5m for u to get me a tokunbo 40 ton mack R model. Lemme know if u av it
only a truck head wit tipper trailer will do 40T gross or net! If dats ur target and u only av 3.5M, I will advise u find a 2nd hand tipper trailer for about 1.5M (probably won't av good tyres at this price) and then buy a 2nd hand MACK head for N2M. Goodluck.

Word of caution, if u want 2 haul 40T, u will need a big trailer bucket (eg Kopec size) bt u will be over stressin the head and it won't last. Ditto springs on the trailer. Just my two cents worth based on experience

If u r talkin 40T on the scale, then dats 25+ load, then a good 12tyre (ie 4 in front, 8 at rear) not 2 front 12rear, will do the job. Your avearge 10 tyre +2 or 4helpers will struggle...........unless u intend 2 carry asphalt

I don't think most bloggers know the ppl u av mentioned in detail enough 2 cast a vote. 6rankly speakin, I don't think most give a damn how rich they are! PhonesAnother Mtn Scam by flexya(op): 8:37am On Jun 12, 2012
I av just discovered that MTN has been scammin me again usin their "BUNDLES". I bought one of the MTN bundles that entitles me 2 60mins of MTN2MTN calls and 200MTN2mtn text within a month for N1500. Sadly, when I make calls 2 MTN numbers, not only is the cost deducted from my bundle credit, it is also deducted from available funds/credit on my phone, which I purposely leave there 2 call other networks. So I am bein double charged. I just thought I should warn other users before subscribin. There is no double charge if I text. As for MTN customer care intervenin, they are the worst. I won't say more cos its been heavily debated here.

Does anyone know if this Number portal service that allows u 2 migrate ur number from one network 2 another has taken effect? I heard sometig about it a couple months back
PoliticsRe: PDP May Lose Aso Rock If CPC & ACN Merge by flexya: 8:39pm On Jun 09, 2012
Buhari had 11M votes 2 GEJs 20M in last election. So, Buhari had 55% of GEJs votes, despite the fact that buhari gathered his votes primarily from 2 zones (NW and NE). North Central States like Niger, Benue, Kogi, Kwara and Plateau were PDPs/GEJ. Only Nassarawa did cpc. If these NC States had voted buhari, GEJ would not av won, without even factorin the SW votes. Remember that we are talkin "vote swings" ie if SW had given Buhari 5M rather dan GEJ, then GEJ would av had 15M and Buhari 16M.

Now wit the nothern governors tAlkin about unity and only a fool will say Jonathan might not contest (he will), then a change is batton in Aso Rock is very muuch realistic because the North Central States would not vote GEJ this time.

Havin said that, ACN is not the Strong base in the SW as outsiders will say (Lagos excepted). It certainly does not av the strength PDP has in the SS. Each SW State has its peculiarities. In Oyo, PDP killed PDP. If reconcillation is done, ACN know they r gone. Didn't ACN lose a bye election in Oyo State a few months ago? Didn't the Accord party total votes added 2 Pdp exceed ACN? Accord is a splinter of PDP. The issue in Oyo is very similar 2 Ogun, except that PDP reconcillation might not be very easy there. Amosun also has PDP DNA in him, so interestin times ahead. Remember the last Kebbi govnor defected 2 PDP? In ekiti and Osun, we all know that results from some local govts were removed from the total votes 2 give judgement 2 ACN. These two states remain a battle ground for both parties. Either can't beat his chest in these States. As for Ondo, Iroko ni joor. The result won't be close. Whoever he supports for Aso Rock will get Ondo votes. He is PDP bt not necessarily GEJ underneath.

No offence 2 my brothers in the SE bt we all know that money talks. Even they couldn't vote for Ojukwu in 2007, in their own party (APGA), despite the love ojukwu had for ndigbo. Ngige or Okorocha flying the presidential flag in a ACN/CPC party won't make a damnb difference. U ppl will still vote pdp/GEJ cos ur govnors will buy ur votes.

By the way, some ppl think foolishly. Imagine an hausa party (cpc) and a yoruba party (acn) merging bt decidin 2 give the presidential ticket 2 an igbo man in Ngige because he is an ACN senator wit a good track record. Its clear whoever thot this has no clue wat nigerian politics is all about.

Finally, win or loose, Tinubu will contest. Ko tori olorun se now! It will be an hausa + yoruba ticket.

PoliticsRe: Air Nigeria Denies Ex-director's Claims; Calls Him A Thief by flexya: 9:55pm On Jun 05, 2012
The man is an ex employee that was dismissed so he is bound 2 be bitter and would seek any avenue 2 get his pound of flesh back. Question for any reasonable man is, Can u afford not 2 believe him? Life has no duplicate. Even if he is 1% right, can u take the chance? Would u take the chance wit the life of a loved one?

Personally, I believe his claim-majorly. The response from Air Nigeria is so personalised without substance. They lost an opportunity 2 reassure their customersm The man denied any criminal investigation or charge against him. Air Nigeria could av cited which court/judge is tryin him or bailed him. Is it feasible that $100k found on a person would av been seized without any consfiscation or court order when the accused is still bein tried? A copy of his charge sheet could be on a newspaper/ attached 2 the rejoinder

If a "technical aircraft illiterate" rose 2 the post of finance director in an organisation that prides itself as the national carrier without any knowledge of the standards (ie airworthiness) of their product (ie aircraft), then Air Nigeria should cover its face cos it shows poor trainin/ppl development. I guess the Operations director is also a financial illiterate without knowledge of budget management

I dove my hat off 2 Air Nigerias claim that they av one of the best safety records. Afterall, at the height of the aircraft crashes in 2005/06, Air Nigeria did not experience any fatalities. I guess dats as reassuring as my local okada rider sayin "his bike has never crashed and he has never kiLled his passengers , despite the fact that he operates wit bald tyres and no rear brakes on his bike". Would I board his bike if a passerby tells me the okada rider just finished drinkin ogogoro? Truth or false, I will still give him a wide berth.

For now, am stayin well clear of Air Nigeria. I am nt alone. Am sure they would av noticed massive loss of revenue in last 48hrs! Wit the Dana Air issue, it might just be the last nail in the coffin for this Jimoh Ibrahim stint wit Nigeria airways or is it virgin nigeria or nigeria air or Air nigeria. Am lost. That airline is cursed!
PoliticsRe: Governor Amaechi Awards Himself Lifetime Pension by flexya: 5:25pm On Jun 03, 2012
This is bullshit and I say so wit all the knowledge of being an experienced State legislator. Firstly, the author claims that the Bill was passed straight from the governors office 2 the House of Representatives? Someone please tell the author that Amaechi cannot forward an executive Bill 2 the House of Rep. Perhaps he meant the House of Assembly. The is a difference between both Houses. Secondly, we are meant 2 believe that the Law included security details from the DSS (formerly SSS) and Police? I tell u that State Houses of Assembly av no power 2 legislate for both security agencies- so dats another bullshit. We r also meant 2 believe that other aides will be provided for Amaechi and his deputy at cost 2 Rivers State. These aides would also be pensionable! Well, another bullshit cos any such future staff, 2 be pensionable and classed as an employee of Rivers State would be engaged under the Civil Service Commission. Only the governor at the time would approve such recruitment.

Finally, the law as it was stated is so stupid that it is unworthy of being called a law and would be repealed by the next Assembly (once Amaechi is out). The members just "chopped Amaechi". If it is that simple, don't u think other governor would av done same b4 him? If this law was actually passed and signed by Amaechi, I must say I am very dissappointed cos it shows him as a man of very little intellect. I had more respect for him. If his intention was 2 safeguard more fortune for himself in future, at the expense of Rivers State, this is not the way. My two cents worth.
PhonesRe: How Bad Has The Mtn Service And Bis Been In Your Area by flexya: 4:46pm On Jun 03, 2012
MTN service is also very poor here in Ibadan (Apata area). The last week has been hell since I use MTN for trackin my trailers/tippers. I don't get my trip reports as I would. I wish I could just change networks bt can't. Changin networks wiLl mean recallin all the vehicles and changin the SIMs in the trackin unit. I hopr my drivers av not discovered that my ability 2 monitor them is limited.

The poor service has also affected the "sell and share" (ie credit transfer). Can't even load credit onto the damn trackers most of the time. Its a hit and miss. Anyone else havin probs wit sell and share
PoliticsRe: Jonathan's Plot To Disunite The Southwest by flexya: 6:52am On May 31, 2012
ekt_bear: I hope very much that you are correct.
My fellow nigerian, as a past legislator, am spot on. My comments av been reaffirmed by Afe Babalola (SAN) see Nation newspaper of today (31st May). Just curious that the amount of comments on this forum excluded this legal and fundamental part!
PoliticsRe: Jonathan's Plot To Disunite The Southwest by flexya: 7:53pm On May 29, 2012
Are there no lawyers, previous or present legislators on this Forum? The University of Lagos would av been created by an Act of Parliament/National Assembly. In that law would av been a section that reads something like, "It shall be known as the University of Lagos". Any deviation or proposed change 2 that name would require an amendment 2 that law. What GEJ or the executive av done(or proposed 2 av done) is ultra vires (beyond their power) and invalid in the eye of the law. Any 200 level law student should know this and can approach the court. Simple. Why all the stress and protest?

This is not the same as renamin a third mainland bridge, which would not av been established through an Act of parliament bt merely thru budget provisions in the appropriation law.
Personally, I think Abiola is more deservin of havin a nationl edifice renamed after him. An edifice/structure which is not seen as belongin 2 a group of nigerians or tribe. UNILAG is seen as belongin 2 lagosians/yorubas. Abuja airport was named after ZIK, a igbo man in recognition of his national status. A national stadium, national theatre, Seaport etc would be better, if we truly believed Abiola is a key player in the road 2 todays democracy. A real national hero.

Like most previous authors, I also fail 2 see how this is meant 2 disunite the yorubas. Might create discord between the pro and anti Abiolas bt dats not limited 2 the SouthWest or did Abiola only win in the SW?
PoliticsRe: Lawmakers Reject Jonathan’s Cassava Bread by flexya: 1:14pm On May 24, 2012
ekt_bear: Diabetes is not a good reason?

What of the reason they proposed that people should be free to eat what they want, w/o being forced?

I agree with the lawmakers..
My kindren, I am wit u. If they want 2 encourage consumption of cassava, then bakeries should flood the market wit cassava composite bread. If its cheap enough, ppl will buy....and it should be cheap enough since the cassava flour is not imported. It must be a choice thing like brown bread vs white bread

The govt on the other hand should offer incentives (tax/loan incentives) to bakers that include cassava in their bread production.

(He lawmakers got the answer right bt the calculation (ie the satistics cited) was wrong.
PropertiesRe: Why Do Most Nigerians Abroad Remain Tenants When They Are Back Home? by flexya: 8:07pm On May 21, 2012
prince_onx: ^^^
£40k a year is no joke except if you're one of those people living above their means! If you can't afford a million Naira plot doing a £40k job a year in addition to your wife's income when can you afford it?
. My dear Prince onx, When u av spent ur own tenure overseas, then maybe ur comment could be objective or intellectual. Most nigerians only hear of ones income and they start jumpin ahead of themselves. Was it not obvious from my text that £2k+ a month is not £40k per year? Did u stop 2 consider what haPpened 2 the difference? Av u ever heard of the Words Tax and National Insurance. All compulsory deductions, unlike in nijja, where u play the system. For me, it was 40% and 7% respectively. My good friend, maybe u should try puttin some figures against some of those expenditures I cited before doin ur maths. Its called plus and minus bt I guess u need 2 av a clue on wat 2 minus. I suppose u won't know how much a mortgate on a average size 3-bedroom house in London cost. Maybe u should also hazard a guess at the cost of council tax (assumin u know what that is), or even my gas bill. no, not ur cookin gas. Heatin gas. Would someone on N10M a year in nijja pay their local council N250k yearly. My Prince, maybe u should think of what would be left if 2.5% of ur gross income goes 2 ur council as tax, then use this 2 guess at the other expenditure. Maybe ur idea of a travel fare is ur N500 okada/day. A weekly travel card cost me around £57 last time. When was the last time u spent N2k/day travelin on public transport for a dy in ur city. No, not taxi or drop, public transport. Please educate urself before commentin. I won't go into the other biLls cos it would be 2 much for u. By the way, re-read my post again. I never said anytig about wife's income. I can advice on this issue cos I av been there, done that and bought the T-shirt! Point is, standard of livin is very expensive and majority of ppl r one pay cheque away from bein homeless! Buildin in nigeria is a distant luxury!
PropertiesRe: Why Do Most Nigerians Abroad Remain Tenants When They Are Back Home? by flexya: 2:13pm On May 21, 2012
Its near impossible 2 build a House in Nijja for someone livin overseas if all he depends on for income is a regular job, no matter how well paid the job is. 2 build in nijja, he would either av got his hands dirty or set up a biznes abroad (or even in Nijja for extra income). I av my reasons for this and havin spent 19yrs in the UK, I consider myself 2 be well placed 2 comment. Firstly, while abroad, u need 2 content urself wit ur mortgage (and other bills- car loan, tv licence, council tax, gas, electricity, phone, travelcard, feedin, clothin, home insurance, vehicle taxes, speed ticket, parkin permit, credit card bills etc). The higher ur income, the bigger/better house u live in. Bigger or better located houses means higher mortgate. Consequently, ur disposable income remains about the same. It is from this "disposable income" that u r expected 2 build a house whilst also sendin money 2 loved ones. When I left the UK, I was on £40k per year, sometig of a very good salary. Such that I fell into the 40% tax band. Yet, livin a very modest live (wit a wife and 3 children), I struggled 2 save £300 per month (out of ove £2k). So it would take me a whole year 2 afford 2 buy a N1M plot of land in my home town Ibadan. How long would i need 2 save for 2 build a House for N10M? For my £300 per month savings, I could easily buy another property on mortgate outside London (in an area like derby). Would rent it out and still make some change. Afterall, "am not comin back 2 nijja yet". The reality is, house ownership is still very expensive in nijja, which is why most ppl wit regular jobs, either in nigeria or abroad, can't afford. So pray ur biznes booms or get dodgy!
PoliticsRe: The Dog & The Baboon Will Be Soaked In Blood - Buhari by flexya: 4:26pm On May 15, 2012
I am shocked that Buharis comment could generate such irrationale comments. I am not pro nor anti Buhari bt there is sufficient evidence 2 support the fact that lives were lost durin the 2011 elections. Whether Buhari contributed 2 it or not shouldn't be the point of discussion. Show me a leader without blood on his hands and I will show u the worlds biggest liar. Its also clear that the 2011 elections were not fair and transparent, or why av we had re-elections/annulments in many NA and HA elections? Whether PDP, ACN, CPC or APGA was the beneficiary of such unfair/untransparent election is also not a topic for debate. So unfair election = loss of live/blood bath. Simple equation. So the outcome will be the same (if not worse), should GEJ/INEC conduct another unfair and untransparent election in 2015. Did Buhari say anything more dan this? Haba!

I certainly would not fold my arms in 2015 and watch the wishes of the majority (in my pollin unit, at least), raped. If this means mEetin violence wit violence, then so must it be. Isn't that what we should all be sayin ie defendin our votes wit our blood if necessary? Isn't this wat Buhari said? Whether I am the dog or the baboon, both myself and any election rigger will be covered in blood.

If anyone is also thinkin of votin GEJ in 2015, I would appreciate if they could campaign here on why we should vote him again, usin what he has achieved since February 2010 when he became actin president (over 2yrs) as a benchmark!
