I'm a resident of You capital city in Akwa Ibom. It seems there's signicant inprovement in the supply of power in the city and beyond. Residents of the city now boast of 20 - 22 hours of power in some part of the city and beyond. However, this cannot be said in generality as some part still suffer from epileptic supply from the national grid.

In all these, we pray for a time Nigeria will witness 24hr./7 uninterrupted power supply across the nation.

How is your area?

psychalade:
The Bible is the worst book ever written. It contains horrors and is manual for horrors.

"IT WAS NOT WITCHES WHO BURNED."

It was not witches who burned.
It was women.
Women who were seen as
Too beautiful
Too outspoken
Had too much water in the well (yes, seriously)
Who had a birthmark
Women who were too skilled with herbal medicine
Too loud
Too quiet
Too much red in her hair
Women who had a strong nature connection
Women who danced
Women who sung
or anything else, really.

ANY WOMAN WAS AT RISK BURNING IN THE SIXTEEN HUNDREDS
Sisters testified and turned on each other when their babies were held under ice.

Children were tortured to confess their experiences with “witches” by being fake executed in ovens.

Women were held under water and if they float, they were guilty and executed.

If they sunk and drowned they were innocent.
Women were thrown off cliffs.

Women were put in deep holes in the ground.

The start of this madness was years of famine, war between religions and lots of fear.

The churches said that witches, demons and the devil did exist and women were nothing but trouble.

As we see even today, there is often a scapegoat created, and the chaos escalated in Sweden when the Bible became law and everything that did not line up with what the church said became lethal.

The Bible fanaticism killed thousands of women.
Everything connected to a women became feared, especially her sexuality.
It became labeled as dark and dangerous and was the core of the witch trials through out the world.

Why do I write this?

Because I think the usage of words are important, especially when we are doing the work to pull these murky, repressed and forgotten about stories to the surface.

Because knowing our history is important when we are building the new world.

When we are doing the healing work of our lineages and as women. To give the women who were slaughtered a voice, to give them redress and a chance of peace.

It was not witches who burned.

It was "women."

Thank you for your kind words. I am pleased with your consideration to remain with the body of Christ through my words.

I’m not a disciple of Mr Joshua. I’ve not heard any of his sermons. I usually prefer to drench myself in reading the scriptures for myself and understanding the background of the texts (through the study of historical information) and understanding of English grammar so that it would help my reasoning.

Very interesting!

If marriage is truly for better, for worse, why do people jump into it like a bed of roses and swiftly opt out when the going is tough? Ain't they suppose to endure the tempest while praying for God's intervention? Don't they think about the adverse implications of this on the children and those that look up to them?

Do you think that the current trend of divorce after few years of marriage is orchestrated by some female folk with evil intent aimed at exploiting the male?

What's your thought?

Acehart:
You shouldn’t stop going to church. It is God’s will that you should be part of the church.

Regarding those verses, 1 Corinthians 14:34-35, let’s look at the context of those verses so that we may not be led astray by little understanding.

The letter, 1 Corinthians was written as a rebuke to that church: they were steep in a lot of unscriptural practices; this made Paul to write this great expression- I desire to know nothing among you, except Christ and Him crucified, as the church was in spiritual chaos: (righteous) leadership was missing in the church, godly behavior was hard to find and the church was only interested in gifts of Christ rather than Christ.

The chapter addressed the chaos of the tongues-speaking gift and prophetic gift. The three verses just before the first two words of the verses you highlighted says:

For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all may be exhorted; and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets; for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints. The women are to keep silent in the churches.

The chief words in these verses are prophesy and prophets. These verses mean that the prophet-elders (in their midst) should take authority in the church, regulating the display of gifts. But the women should hold their peace. You should ask: which women?

In chapter 11, Paul rebukes the church for letting certain women become the symbol of authority in the church. They were the women with “uncovered” hair (The brothel art in Pompeii, Italy, depicts prostitutes with full heads of hair, never shaved. Other erotic art from Pompeii shows sexually promiscuous women with their hair done up as the matrons wore it. “Letting down their hair,” was a practice probably associated with spiritual freedom in Dionysus worship).

In the worship of Aphrodites in Corinth, women were the symbols of authority in the temple worship (like Jezebel, Ahab’s wife) and the adoption of such practice in the church was contrary to God’s ‘word first sent forth’, the law (v.36)- God is not the author of confusion; He will not marry Christ with a prostitute.

In the latter part of the chapter you quoted, Paul writes: if anyone thinks he is a prophet. This was Paul’s shotgun aimed at those women, the ones who were heading the church.

Revelation 2:20 But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.

I hope I didn’t bore you with my answer

You didn't bore me at all, rather you educate me on what you best know. I really enjoy the piece. You're well read!
Please, are you a disciple of Apostle Joshua Selman?

Politics / THE WAILING NATION - Dr. Nelson De Great by Fluency(m): 7:17pm On Aug 05, 2021
It is sad to see how the commonwealth of our Nation is looted to ruin by leaders and elders who should serve as statesmen and advisers to the young ones.
But what is sadder is the revelation that those who are waiting to loot are more than the current looters, thereby justifying their satanic acts.
The saddest and the most unfortunate one is that, those who are lying in wait to loot are youths who are struggling for survival in the pool and mud of poverty and economic depreciation, which in turn has put to birth untold hardship caused by activities and unfavourable policies of the current looters and policy makers. These are youths who should serve as agents of change for the new Nigeria we all pray and desire to see. Unfortunately, the desire for wealth and boundless riches has darkened their sense of reasoning, and the desire for positive change.

Who then will effect the change, considering the impossible reality of using “demon to cast out demon,” and the fact that any kingdom that divides against itself cannot stand?

Can anyone agree with me that what we’re experiencing today is the harvest of most people’s thoughts!
*_DO NOT BE DECEIVED, GOD IS NOT MOCKED... (Gal. 6:7)

This is how they waste precious funds.
Ijiots in power!
Buy Prado jeeps for senators, House members and cronies.
Build new Government Houses once they take over and new laison houses at Abuja and Lagos.
This one is even a so called professor..
They don't know what to do with money because there's no national plan for economic development!
It's totally wrong to allow state governors and presidents do whatever they like with the countrys funds this way..
There must be 5 year or 10 year plans on how to use funds to achieve stated goals and ofcourse constitutional checks to avoid this kind of mismanagement.

We'll get there once the youths realize their role in Nigeria and stop aligning themselves with corrupt politicians. Our greediness is part of the problems we're currently facing.
