webstradamus: I think they do (from experience) but I would also call them ... that's definitely faster!
Oh!

Guys. Been pretty busy and studying for Toefl.. I just paid WES $204 today for course to course evaluation with GTb master card and they confirmed the payment instantly and updated my status from "Documents Received/Awaiting Payment" to "Reviewing". Only for me to check few hours later to see my status CANCELLED. What could be wrong? Has anyone ever experienced such before? I waited for the delivery of my result first before making payment just to be sure. I've emailed them right away!
I sent my result to them 3weeks back and then sent my transcript a week after sending my results. They got my result first and then hopefully they should get my transcript in a few days time say wednesday because I used NIPOST and sent it last week monday. I just hope its the transcript on transit that's causing this and not something else oh!

imperiouxx: I guess flyingbird is scared of dropping the name of the school but for what?.....lol. Piss on such school asking for almost impossibility. angry angry
I don't feel comfortable dropping much information on a public forum.. How do I send you a message so you could check with the school? But I'm rest assured that its not just one VIU University type

imperiouxx: I tire o. If they still won't accept proxy address in US, then piss on them. Shikena! angry
They even reply my mails like they don't care and I just have to comply. Looks like they're not bothered

bigfrancis21: What then is the use of them designating you an international student when they won't accept an international addresshuh?
I don't even know oh!.. I really like everything about the school. A friend introduced me to the school .. The school has a good class size, and they've got lots of courses both graduate and undergraduate, its also located in a city that's very affordable to live in and most of all their fees is very LOW. Its not a college but a university. They offer both graduate and undergraduate studies. I have no alternative than to get a U.S address sad
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part3 by flynbird(f): 4:30pm On Feb 27, 2013
imperiouxx: Why should they need a US address if they got many international students? Mind saying the name of the school? Well, ask a family/friend if you got one in the US to help you with his/her address. And if you don't have any alternative, you move forward and leave them with their problem. They lost a prospect student.
Its a private university founded in 1968. They have over 13,000 students and international students from over 60 countries. All they say is in order for them to process international applications they need a U.S. address. But wouldn't say why. I asked them if they would send a mail by post to the U.S adress but they didn't say. I'm wondering why oh! They even sent me their catalogue and application form through post about a month ago and I got it here in nigeria. Just wondering!. Probably they think the admission letter and I-20 is more important and they need to ensure its delivered to my address in the U.S.

Just got a mail from the school.. Unfortunately there are no other alternatives they need a U.S. address to process my application. sad Does this mean international applicants without a U.S address are not welcomed into the school? SMH sad undecided

olarwarlay: @flynbird - I thought U were supposed to apply after writing your toefl test. And before I forget, did U remember to put the names of the school U want ets to send ur official toefl result to when filling the form?
Yes I included the schools code and address when registering with the agent... The school said I could apply now while waiting for Toefl exams
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part3 by flynbird(f): 1:37pm On Feb 27, 2013
bigfrancis21: Not really. I'm surprised your school demands a local address. You'll have to know what to do. Or you can write them telling them you don't have one let's see if they'll accept your Nigerian address.
I'm surprised too oh! I just sent an email telling them I don't have a U.S address. I hope they accept my Nigeria address

Does anyone know why a school would need a U.S address to process international applications? The school asked if I have any friends or family members in the U.S. that would let me use their address? Seems strange to me!

I just registered for toefl in ibadan, through an agent I met online google search.... I went to his office and paid 35,000 and he gave me Toefl material, a CD.. What makes me wonder is just 5min after departing his office I got an email from toefl stating I was registered for March 8 shocked in a test centre in ibadan! .. I wonder how these agents get these dates. SMH

olarwarlay: @flynbird - I understand what Justwise was trying to say, you know some people actually come here to advertise some agents and not all these agents are real. So i fink it's just a rule so that people's interest would be protected and not to be duped by some so-called fake agents. Like i said in my previous post, try and Google agents in lagos 'coz i actually did that before i decided on which one to go for and i'll also advice you visit the Agent's office and see things for yourself before paying for the test. Don't just pay money into an account and hope to get the registration done.... Dubious people are all over the place.... BEST OF LUCK!
ok i'll try the phone registration today and if it doesnt work then i'll have no other alterntive than to consult the agents. i just hope there are real ones out here in ibadan

People are allowed to exchange TOEFL materials
Hey! Whaat is your biusness here? How am I suposed to get help with toefl registration without asking? Last time I check this was a US study visa thread and inquiries elevant to it are welcomed. Please keep off!

Use at least one upper case letter when creating ur password. E.g ameriCanvisa9. Make sure one letter is capital and also include a number in the password

olarwarlay: @flynbird, I'll advise You check the centres in lagos if You have somewhere to stay like a day to the test. I registered mine at a centre in lagos, I got March 8 and I paid 35k for the registration. I already tried registering myself on the ets website too buh couldn't continue 'coz I have a Mastercard and the site only accepts the Visa card, so all I did was just give the Registration centre my ets Id & password & they paid. I got the confirmation email the 3rd day.
Where is ur test centre? I'll try the phone registration but if it doesn't work then I'll have to register through the agents
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part3 by flynbird(f): 3:13pm On Feb 24, 2013
winbyforce: @flynbird,why don't you choose a center in lagos? when no dates are available in ibadan,it means the seats are filled up for the exams, and you'l have to check the site every other day for the next available dates in Ibadan(probably May).If you really want it fast, you might have to consider a lagos center.
You're not getting it.... The website is showing available dates for toefl exam but there is another drop down bar where u select test center in the state but it doesn't show any test center for ibadan even when I go to May dates,. When u click on ur city, it automatically shows the available dates for the exams but getting a centre is not coming up... Lagos and other cities show dates too but if you want a centre you'll have to check the very late dates such as May but ibadan doesn't even show any centres but dates, so I'm thinking the phone registration would be the best alternative

ferdimako: If there is no test dates in Ibadan, phone registration won't make it appear.Check another location and book.I doubt paying with Nigerian debit card.It doesn't work.
Nigerin debit VISA cards do work with etstoefl but the MASTER debit card such as Gtbank. Card wouldn't work....... The issue now is dates are available when registering but when I click on test center it doesnt bring out any in ibadan but only dates show and I can't continue the registration without getting. Test center. I'm thinking if phone registration is done then they'll find a way to fix me into a center. Here's what it looks like

TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part3 by flynbird(f): 10:52am On Feb 24, 2013
ferdimako: Go to ETS site, select your intended exam venue and next until you see a date. They have different dates at different centers.Jos center is getting busier now.Can you pay with a Nigerian debit card? I paid for my brother last April with an America credit card even when am in Jos.Imagine what we go through and the mistrust is what is making agents to charge N15K profit. I paid N27,000 which was 175USD equivalent and but help came from a family. So if you get a test date, fill out the form and give the username and password to who will pay for you. However,I don't know if u can pay with our debit card like British Council does on IETLS.
I've gone through the ets/toefl website and dates are available in ibadan but when I search for a test center with the date range, it doesn't bring out test centers. None for ibadan at all, but dates are available. But I know they have a test center which is at EAC bodija. But the issue is that I can't continue with filling my registration without a test center popping up... And yes can pay with naira debit visa card only, ets doesn't accept naira master debit card such as gtbank card........ I'm considering giving my details to my cousin in the uk so he could register for me by phone and let them know I'll be taking the exam in ibadan. Would it be better that way?
