bigfrancis21: Tomorrow is another day. Keep checking back until midnight and early morning of your interview date(wednesday). If it still doesn't reflect online then you have no option than to miss your interview on wednesday. You can reschedule your appointment to another date but you'll have to call them and request for expedited date. If you're to book with what you'll see online, you'll only see dates from august 20 and downwards. If an one misses one's his interview, one is free to reschedule again free of charge using the same visa fee payment of N26,400.
Ok Thank you Sir!

imperiouxx: The sevis number is only yours. That's a prove if you're unable to change the name till your interview.
Ok. But what about my Sevis fee receipt? It still isn't online yet whenever I check. Do I have to use the senders last name while checking or mine? What do I do if I can't get the receipt print out?

Its been 2days since I paid my Sevis fee and still yet no update on www.fmjfee.com. I don't have any other proof to show I paid the fee and my interview is in 2days time. I emailed DHS for a change on Info, and they said they still don't have record of payment under my SEVIS ID and that I should allow time for the payment to be received and verified..... What should I do if there's still no update a day before my interview? If I don't attend the interview without canceling my appointment would I still be able to schedule another interview date without paying another N26,400? Pls I need advise.

Ok. I'll email DHS. I hope I get my reciept before my interview

imperiouxx: Where is FLYNBIRD!

(1) When paying through WU, the form they give isn't the same as it appears online (I'VE SAID THIS BEFORE MANY TIMES - It confuses new payers). They need to key the normal payer info in the payer's tab and key in "FMJFEE" on the tab where company name/code is asked. Then wait for like 5 seconds, the next box would then appear showing where they can key in other SEVIS fee info. If they don't wait during this window processing time or don't key in "FMJFEE" in the company name/code, the computer will think they're only sending money to whoever not fmjfee.

The keyword to get the sevis paid at WU outlet is by typing FMJFEE as the company name/code and wait for few seconds.

(2) I received a call from a friend in Virginia asking if he can change the name after paying the SEVIS fee because he was asked to put in his own name as the sender but not the name of the actual student paying the SEVIS fee. He said this isn't his first time of paying using the student name but it's like the rule is changed now.

(3) God help you.
Imperioxxx, I don't know how she paid it. But she said they didn't allow her use my name. So she had to use hers. I'll be emailing DHS for a change of info.

@Misstoyo. Thank you very much. She was able to pay it today. She just called me. @annoymous and Walspring thank you too for your help. I appreciate it

Thank you. It sure would.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by flynbird(f): 6:53am On Jul 20, 2013
misstoyo: In America it's called quick collect not quick pay. Not all western union outlets have quick collect. So she has to go online to the western union website and look for the nearest quick collect close to her or she can Google it. The quick collect form would look like the picture above or slightly different. There is no special sevis type of form. If you can give me her location I can find the nearest quick collect outlets close to her.
I know what you passing through. I went through the same dilemma when it was my turn
Thank you. She lives in National City, California
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by flynbird(f):
annoymous: There is no special DHS form to pay for SEVIS. It's the same quickpay for everybody but u will modify the form as described in the sample below. I av not heard of some WU offices in the US not being able to process SEVIS fee payments.

NB: the picture actually shows the normal quickpay form on top and a sample i20 below it
She didn't see this type of form. Isn't this different form the regular form? Is this type Of form for sevis fee payment called quick pay form? I guess its a different type of service

The form u show here is quite different from what I have frm the pdf version on dhs site. The end of the form ask for Name/Department

I'm just being careful cos I have $200 stuck with money gram and don't want it to happpen here again
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by flynbird(f): 5:09am On Jul 20, 2013
My cousin went back to Money Gram for a refund but unfortunately they said it'll take another 1week before he could get my $200 refund back. He said he didn't have anymore $$$ on him to get it done at Western union while he waits for the refund from money gram.

I have some money i thought I could get access to on friday so I could go through the or the Coutonu options but unfortunately I couldn't.

So I talked to this friend of mine who lives in California. I explained the urgency and how much I needed the Sevis fee paid on friday. She told me not to worry that she'll help me pay through Western Union as soon as they are opened for the day. She went to 3 different Western Union locations and kept calling me at every WU office she was, but the senders form she was giving didn't look anything like the DHS sample I sent to her. And besides they said they weren't conversant with DHS Sevis fee.

Now I'll like to ask those that pay theirs from abroad how they get it done.
-Can she use just any Western Union office?
-Does the form giving to her have to look the exact way the DHS sample form looks like?
-Are there just few Western Union offices where Sevis fee can be paid abroad?

I would have asked her to get it done through Money Order but it'll take 2days to deliver and time isn't on my side. She asked me to make inquiries and let her know so she could go back on saturday and get it done with the Form she was given earlier. Or she'll try looking for more WU offices.

Ok so he called the customer care line and they said they don't accept money gram!!!! I sent my cousin everything he needed. I sent the western union sample form to him and all of my details. After making the payment he kept arguing with me that Money Gram is similar to Western Union and that they'll accept it.
I've never been this pissed off before. I feel like cursing the bastard even if he's my cousin. The people we think we trust so much to take care of personal issues are the ones that might ruin and disappoint us. I sent the money to him since monday and yet tomorrow is friday and I still have no payment. This Sevis fee is an issue here on this forum and everyone here doesn't encourage patronizing agents even the moderators. With what I've gone through whenever I find myself out of this country I'll be willing to go the extra mile to help anyone in need of this Sevis fee issue.
I feel so weak now and I'm not going to bother myself with anything again!!!

Find Out!:
If you had not emailed the SEVIS people, i would have suggested you try getting a refund from moneygram, then in the mean time immediately source for another 42k500 and pay thru GIEVA. Now tho, i think you can only hope for the best which could come in 2 ways:

1) Your payment is accepted

2) You get some notification or indication that your payment was not successful between now and tomorrow so by monday morning, you r on your way to Seme border, make ur payment before 12 noon, print ur receipt by tuesday and go for ur interview on wednesday.
Ms Nas: Yes dear. If you have the money ready, get to Lagos tomorrow. But come early sha oo, cos of traffic. You should be able to print ur receipt latest by Tuesday
Ms Nas: Yes dear. If you have the money ready, get to Lagos tomorrow. But come early sha oo, cos of traffic. You should be able to print ur receipt latest by Tuesday
bodeplot: @flynbird,jst calm down while fmjfee reply ur mail, bt also note Ms nas idea which s ecobank seme border as dat is within 1day or so.let dem reply ur mail first. fear not,God s wit u
Guys I think they accept money gram. My cousin just called the customer care line and a rep asked for my Sevis code but my cousin didn't understand which code he was to give, So he dropped the call and called me to ask before calling back
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by flynbird(f): 11:51am On Jul 18, 2013
Ms Nas: Flynbird...how many days does GIEVA give? Is it not 5 working days? If you can't risk that, I'll suggest u head to Seme border. I paid mine there on the 12th of July, printed my receipt on the 13th (the next day). Its up to you now smiley
I'm so confused!. He made a payment through Money Gram which I'm not certain about. Can I still go to Cotounu to pay another $200

Ricky Rozay: OMG!!!! Bigfrancis and I kept telling you to pay thru g.I.e.v.a but you didn't respond..

I'm veryy sad this is happening to you... I told everyone and I will keep sayin it again, don't put all your hope on people.. Humans can fail you...

You should hv paid dt fee ur self in d location we directed u...

By d way when is ur date?
Find Out!:
Flynbird, i hope you'll answer this question so solutions can be proposed. Anyway, since you have a history of not sharing info here (ur school name...even tho many who have splattered their school name and course all over the thread still got their visa..), I believe its a 50/50 chance you'll wish to answer this question.

However, here are suggestions:
If you have more than 3 working days left, i suggest you either ask your US contact to send use money order to try and pay the fee right away or head to that g.I.e.v.a TODAY to pay 42,500 so u can at least print out the receipt before your interview...worst thing that'll happen is that when you get to the embassy, you'll be told it hasnt reflected or somethin, then you'll be told to come back.

I would have said you cancel this appointment, reschedule, and then seek for an emergency appointment but then, there are no dates available in Lagos presently which is a serious bummer as you need to get a date before u can ask for an emergency appt.
I had already sent the $200 to him before the Geieva option came in. Now my money is with Money Gram and I'm not even sure if they will recieve the payment cry

vivysparkles: When is ur interview? How many days exactly have u got left?
Wednesday! Has anyone ever used money gram to pay for Sevis feehuh He said western union service was down when he got there so they directed him to another bank which uses Money Gram.
He scanned a copy of the form to me. The form didn't have a space for MTCN But a reference number(Is this normal?). And after filling out the beneficiary name, they asked him to cancel the Date of birth which is supposed to be after the beneficiary name and changed it to (US Homeland Security) instead of the normal (US Bank DHS). He even made a mistake by filling my wrong birth day

This way:

Beneficiary Name: US Homeland Security
Beneficiary Account number: (My Sevis code without DOB)
Company Number: (My Schools code)
Swift Code: FMSEVIS FEE MO
Beneficiary bank: US bank DHS
Address: 500 12th Street, SW Stop 5600
Washington, D.C. 20536-5600

I've emailed the scanned copy to fmjfee.sevis@ice.dhs.gov

imperiouxx: Well, if that's the only way, you should go ahead. Though, I've paid here up to 3 times with the actual names of the owner of the SEVIS number.
Ok. I just hope it would not delay the payment. I was suprised when he called me and told me they wouldn't let him use my name as the sender

bigfrancis021: Which of your UK/Malaysia cousins will be more willing/kind/disposed to go out of their way to help you pay the SEVIS fee? Its what you should check because that someone is your relative doesn't automatically mean the person is willing to help you out. If both of them are of the same capacity, i'd rather prefer the one in the UK to do it for me anyway, if I were you. Just my preference#

Your cousin abroad has two options to help you pay now - by money order or through western union.

Western Union Payment
Western Union collect the I-901 SEVIS fee in local currency and transmits both the payment and the Form I-901, "Fee Remittance for Certain F, J and M Nonimmigrants," data to ICE.

There are five steps that you should follow:
-Step One: Do not file the Form I-901 online.
-Step Two: Print a copy of these instructions(print this page: http://www.ice.gov/sevis/i901/wu_instr.htm), a copy of the Western Union form example (print here: http://www.ice.gov/doclib/sevis/pdf/wu_fm_inter.pdf) and a photocopy of your Form I-20. Take a copy of each of these three documents with you when you visit your local Western Union Quick Pay location.
-Step Three: Go to a local Western Union agent location and pay the I-901 SEVIS fee in the local currency.
-Step Four: Review the Western Union form to make sure that the Western Union agent uses your name, your SEVIS ID number and your date of birth (not the information that appears on the Western Union form example).
Find the nearest Western Union location or call the telephone number of the Western Union Commercial Services Network Agent in your country as listed in your phone book
-Step Five: After three business days, check on FMJfee.com to view your payment status. Once you see confirmation of payment on FMJfee.com, print out the confirmation page. The confirmation page is proof of payment of the I-901 SEVIS fee, and you can use it for a visa interview at a U.S. Consulate or Embassy and for admission at a U.S. port of entry.

If you are paying on behalf of an F or M student or J exchange visitor, Western Union may require you to use your own name and address. If this happens please make sure that you are entering the F or M student or J exchange visitor’s SEVIS ID. After submitting the payment, please send an e-mail or have the student send an e-mail to fmjfee.sevis@ice.dhs.gov with INFO CHANGE in the subject line. Include the SEVIS ID for which the payment was made and any information requiring an update
Remember: It takes two or three business days to process your I-901 SEVIS fee payment.

http://www.ice.gov/sevis/i901/wu_instr.htm
http://www.ice.gov/sevis/i901/

After 3 days, visit www.fmjfee.com to print your payment confirmation page. You can take this receipt for your interview. You won't have to wait for the one from SEVP to arrive. You must not go with the receipt SEVP will mail to you. Afterall, the purpose of the receipt/payment confirmation is to show that you've paid the SEVIS fee - the payment the VO himself/herself will quickly confirm online during your interview. The confirmation is more important than the receipt. Once you pay through any of these means and are able to print your receipt online, you're good to go. smiley

Oh, I just read now on www.fmjfee.com that starting from July/August this year, SEVP will no longer mail receipts physically. Receipts will now be printed online.
BigFrancis can I still go with this option? I mean my cousin using his name to make the sevis fee payment then I email for a change for a change of namehuh
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by flynbird(f): 3:59am On Jul 16, 2013
imperiouxx: NEVER!

He'll fill your names and everything about you (detail) but the address Western Union will accept is the one from where the money is paid (i.e his address). So, he will be getting the receipt in his house and send it to you in Nigeria. I paid this 2 times last year and 1 this year.
Ok so my cousin went to western union to pay my $200 Sevis fee but they insist the name on the form has to be his(Senders) name!
I can't go for the Money Order option because time isn't on my side. Can he use his name on the form then I'll email for a change of name like BigFrancis suggested earlierhuh?

DATES ARE AVAILABLE FOR LATE JULY IN LAGOS!!!
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by flynbird(f): 10:02am On Jun 21, 2013
Ricky Rozay: @Bigfrancis, Thnx alot bro, u r awesome!!!! . Don't mind me.. Lol!!

I guess u can see the nervousness in me.

Embassy shiver.

I'm just like my sister who always wants everythin perfect..

It's Not that I can't fill the DS form again, but I just keep asking myself d same question every moment on ma mind that is this still necessary? Because it took me 5 hours to fill that form and I fill that everythin was perfectly written with the much amount of time I spent..

I think if Using Years was going to be a problem, I don't think the Embassy would have Included it on the DS 160 form at the first place..

The Only thing I will do on that day is that if the VO's ask me what is the length of your stay in the US?.

I will respond by telling him - 60 months which is approximately 5 years..

By saying this the VO will get what I'm trying to say..

And It will make everythin correspond wth my DS 160 form and my i-20.
@RICKY ROZAY. DATES IN LAGOS EMBASSY ARE OPENED NOW FOR LATE JULY!!! HURRY !!!! I JUST BOOKED MINE!
