As far as I'm concerned, the Redmi 8a beats it with a type-C USB port, IR blaster, ~~better build quality~~ , Gorilla Glass 5, and a lot better battery, not to talk of the feature-packed MIUI 12.

All these even at a lot cheaper price.

I didn't dispute that but don't forget the 4.2 has a glass back and won a design award.

Can you please tell us how exactly Nokia is better? Is it design, build quality, camera, used processor, name it? Just be elaborate.

If I recall, Nokia's entry-level devices in Nigeria are the Nokia 4.2s and its likes; none of them is better than even the Redmi 8a

Coming to design the Nokia 4.2 won a design award last year.

Don't bang on 30yrs I remember a movie that was was made in the past which said by 2020 we'll would have flying cars,shoes with a shoe lace that ties itself(Nike did something similar in regards to the movie but it's not a shoe lace it just resizes itself to fit your foot and must be charged) and other technologies

nah it depends,if they aren't asking for your bank details you are good to go meaning they are the legit ones
If they start asking unnecessary questions then that's when there's problem.
I later got a call from another guy but was making sense this time.

Bros no phone on GSM has all positive review there will always be negative reviews just show me one.

I also want you to go to transission device reviews on GSM;you'll notice that people don't complain that much all they do is *sigh* in disappointment and express there disappointment in the company because what they complained of before still repeats itself in their newer device so complaining will be a waste of time.
Op I want you to ask yourself this question;
What about those using it on nairaland and aren't complaining did their's fall from heaven.

If you want to buy a phone I'll advise you to stay off GSM arena as some of its review are geniue they also have trolls even some of them state that some people just lie about problems.

If i thought about the problems I saw on GSM about my device I wouldn't have gone for it and I'll probably be regretting right now.

yh the camera is cool(not sure about it against the Huawei and mi9 though especially with gcam involved)
According to a teardown I watched in YouTube it was a true 48mp sensor unlike that in the s5 pro and it's Tecno counterpart (just hope it doesn't wear out after months)
Apart from that the rest is shit for its price, including the processor.

One of the reasons the Huawei y7p has a low mark is because of the lack of Google apps.

I want to disagree unless you tell me their midrange phones with lower screen quality can comfortably give to 12hrs SOT

you have a point,only their M series have good battery life because they come with higher mah but lack in other aspects compared to your average galaxy device.

Okay let me point out why. My reasons are personal.

First and foremost is horrible battery life. On all Samsung flagship devices I've used they never seem to get past 7hrs SOT no matter the configuration and tweaking. I'm a very heavy user who does 80 percent of my job on the phone....... Samsung wasn't helpful in this aspect. In summary their battery suck or their aren't too good with their optimisation. I struggle to run this xiaomi to 30%(very hard) I average 12 hour SOT on the days I'm on heavy use.

Secondly, if you are a heavy user you will notice Samsung gets hot when running some high graphics tasks for an hour. I literally put it in freezer sometimes for like 1 minute just to cool it.... Surprisingly I'm running those same apps on this xiaomi and I don't get such hotness which makes me agree that benchmark test is bullshit and doesn't equate day to day use.

There are other functions I can mention but like I said, when you put functionality, quality and specs together xiaomi can't compare to Samsung(at least for now).

My switching is for personal preference on which aspect of a phone is more important to me.

Samsung's display is the culprit for poor battery life
The better it is the more battery it uses plus the more 5ge phone tend to hear up especially if you use it at maximum brightness.

Samsung went wrong with there A series
Thier J series was much better then.
