@memento. the service is available to prepaid customers. but it's funny how the mtn customer care guys know nothing or little about the service. i called 180, 216 and got nothing useful from them.

a 1MB file took just 2 seconds to download! i must confess this is better than starcomms izap or EVDO. you can also use your 3G phone as a modem. i hope they keep it up! i live in PH. only MTN has its 3G running here.

after the exercise i guess the actual number of gsm phone subscribers may be 10million or less. the average nairalander has an average of 5 sim cards or more for example.

you need to subscribe to their internet service at the customer care office. even if you have the CD you can't get connected.seriously again how come you don't have the CD? the dongle or whatever device is usually programmed to work with your line[internet line.]

it's very sad when i get to the phone section i see a lot of guys claiming they have free browsing solutions for this and that network. next thing guys start donating emails and phone no.s. Data is a big revenue source for operators. do you that one operator in The Philipines generates more than 50% of its income from data alone? no serious operator in Nigeria will want to throw away that opportunity. bandwith is expensive. and the operator don't get it for free. if you happen to browse a few wapsites on your phone and you think you are enjoying the internet, please think again. the gsm operators are not serious about internet business yet. thats why they spend very little or nothing on promoting internet services. how many of you are browsing free with your PC using glo3G, any of the service providers like swift, DOPC, mweb, etc.,,or any of the cdma network? answer is 0! these guys mean business. so lets stop deceiving people here. stop all the extortion of money to give free browsing whatever. i think it borders on fraud. gsm operators in other countries like America, Europe and Asia have been offering internet services long before we have it here, and there nobody talks of free tricks , hacks or whatever. are we smarter than they are?
