D truth of d matter is, most at tyms some transformers ar abandon by PHCN workers upon realizing it hs spoilt.

Instead of them to fix it, dey go abt removing useful parts to sell to other communities.

The major cause of power failure in some communities is d bad condition of their transformers.

Who is responsible fr providing transformers in the community Mr. Ben huh

SportsRevealed : Why Musa Handed Eagles Captaincy To Mikel. by Fmartin(op): 8:11am On Apr 02, 2016
Fresh facts have emerged that Chelsea midfielder, Mikel Obi actually insisted he will only feature in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Egypt if he were made Super Eagles captain.

As a result of this, coach Samson Siasia and other top officials thereafter pressured the CSKA Moscow star, Musa to relinquish the armband to Mikel.

Mikel was assistant captain to Lille goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama when former coach, Sunday Oliseh picked Ahmed Musa as the country’s new captain last October.

AfricanFootball.com scooped that Mikel demanded the Eagles captaincy when he spoke with caretaker coach, Siasia prior to the matches against Egypt.

“Mikel made it very clear to Siasia he be made captain if the coach wanted him to play the crucial matches against Egypt,” a top source informed.

Pressure was thereafter mounted on Musa to surrender the Eagles captaincy.

AfricanFootball.com also gathered that a top official of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) advised Musa “to give them their captaincy”.

Siasia then held a private meeting with Musa in his hotel room in Kaduna on the same matter.
“The meeting was for 30, 40 minutes, just Siasia and Ahmed. And it was in that meeting that it was made clear to Musa to give up the captaincy,” a top source added.

Immediately after this tete-a-tete, coach and player headed for the press conference where Musa announced Mikel as new Eagles skipper, while accepting that there was “a mix-up” when more senior players were overlooked before he was last October as Nigeria captain.

PoliticsNorth-west Govs Forum Not Faction Of Nsgf - Yari by Fmartin(op): 7:00am On Apr 02, 2016
Zamfara State Governor Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari has dismissed claims that the North-West governors’ forum is a faction of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF). Rather, it is meant to address the peculiar development issues of the zone,

the governor said while fielding questions from newsmen after a meeting of the group at the Kano State Government House.

Yari reaffirmed that the forum is not in conflict with the NSGF and therefore faulted those who think it is a factional group. The governors of Zamfara, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Kebbi, Sokoto and the Kaduna State deputy governor attended the meeting.

Reading the communiqué, Governor Yari called for unity among political leaders in the zone for the realisation of effective and sustainable development. He said the Kano meeting was a follow-up on the forum’s series of meetings to discuss issues peculiar to the zone and proffer recommendations.

The governor stated that the forum deliberated on the zone’s development based on the Arewa Research and Development Project’s findings, stressing that the forum after careful deliberations would ensure adoption and subsequent implementation of the research findings for economic stability in the zone.

Yari also extended the forum’s sympathy to Kebbi and Kano over the recent fire outbreaks that consumed major markets in the two states.

SportsDalung Admit 2.9b Olympic Money Unaccounted For by Fmartin(op): 6:44am On Apr 02, 2016
By Olawale Ajimotokan in Abuja
Youths and Sports Minister

Solomon Dalung has raised the alarm that he was yet to be properly briefed about how N2.9 billion meant for the preparation of Nigerian athletes for the Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil was spent.

It was initially reported that government approved N2.7 billion to be released through the defunct National Sports Commission (NSC) for the participation of Nigerian athletes at the last All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville, Youths Olympics in China and preparation for Rio 2016.

The country only attended the All Africa Games and the Youth Games, while lack of funding has stalled the camping of athletes who qualified for the Olympics.

The federations have also been lamenting of their failure to embark on local and foreign training tours.
But Dalung yesterday revised the approved amount to N2.9 billion based on the memo which authorised its approval by President Muhammadu Buhari, which he said was made available to him upon request.

The minister said that he was not provided with enough information by the former Director General of NSC, Alhassan Yakmut, about how the money was spent, saying the controversy was a source of concern to him.
The dispute about the money became public issue, when the request tabled by NSC for additional fund to prepare Nigeria athletes for Olympic Games was turned down by the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPE) which demanded for accountability on how the money earlier released was spent.

‘’It is true President Buhari approved N2.9 billion last year to the defunct NSC. But as I speak today as the Minister, I don’t think I have got enough information about how the money was spent.

The story of N2.9 billion is of serious concern to me like any one. Since the former director general told the media that they gave him the money, I am asking the same question,” Dalung said.
Dalung said that the minutes of the approved sum by President Buhari required that the money must be accounted for and must be for the approved purpose.

The Minister said that apart from preparing the team, the fund also ought to cover the cost of paying for hostel accommodation for the delegation in Brazil.
He said he had to seek alternative sources of money to pay for the balance of accommodation when he travelled to Rio last month and had to pay three times the value because of variation in naira exchange rates

PoliticsAgatu : Benue Governor Must Stop Deceiving Nigerians. by Fmartin(op): 6:34am On Apr 02, 2016
The convener of the One Idoma Initiative, Paul Edeh, said the Benue state governor’s statement that the crisis in Agatu was caused by Chadians, Malians and Ghanaians is deceptive

Edeh said the state governor lacks knowledge of what is happening in Benue state. He also said a resolution has been reached between the Idomas and the Fulanis to implement a ceasefire

The people of Idoma through the One Idoma Initiative have called on the Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom, to desist from deceiving Nigerians on the situation in Agatu local government area in the state.

Speaking to NAIJ.com, the convener of the One Idoma Initiative, Paul Edeh, said the governor’s statement that the killings in Agatu were perpetrated by Chadians, Malians and Ghanaians and not Fulani herdsmen is deceptive.

“My response to Ortom is simple, we had a town hall meeting on Tuesday, March 24, where a communique was released to the effect to let peace reign in Agatu; and there was a directive for a ceasefire by both parties,” Edeh said.

Edeh said the directive given by a combined team of notable Idoma people and the leadership of the Myetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has so far led to a ceasefire, with the Fulani herdsmen leaving Agatu.

“Except if Ortom is saying that the people that gave the directive are also Chadians and Malians, but he should acknowledge that we have made an effort and an impact to bring a lasting end this crisis rather go about and be deceiving people that it is Chadians and Malians that have been causing the mayhem,” he added.

Edeh further added that the Benue state government has been insincere to Nigerians since the crisis erupted in Agatu.
He said: “Yes, the government is not sincere in tackling the issue of the Fulani herdsmen. Ortom should have known by now that after our town hall meeting, a directive have been given which have also been complied with.”
“And that the root causes of these crisis should be tackled headlong rather than go about beating about the bush; every right thinking person would know that there is peace now in Agatu. Is he (Ortom) now saying that between now and then that the directive was given, the Chadians have left?” Edeh asked.
