PoliticsBENUE: LG Chairman Escapes Assassination.(photo) by Fmartin(op): 9:21am On May 07, 2016
The Caretaker Chairman of Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State, Prince George Adah narrowly escaped death few days ago as suspected hired assassins almost beat him to death at the APC secretariat in Makurdi.

It was gathered that Hon. Adah had visited the state capital to brief the Acting Governor, Engr. Benson Abounu on the communal clash that broke out in the council area, which left 5 persons dead a few weeks back.

An Abuja-based journalist, Yemi Itodo reports that on reaching Makurdi, Adah could not see the Acting Governor who was said to be busy at the time.

Adah was, however, advised to report to the deputy Speaker, Hon. James Okefe, who incidentally hails from the same Okpokwu LGA, however his efforts to see Okefe were unsuccessful.
Narrating his ordeal, Adah said, “On reaching the Kanshio area at the outskirt of the town, I got a call from Hon. Godwin Idoko, Special Adviser to the Governor on Ethics and Value Orientation, that the deputy Speaker was ready to see me.

“We made U-turn to Makurdi town and when we got there, Hon. Idoko asked us to sit with him at the joint within the party secretariat and discuss before the arrival of the deputy Speaker.

“It was in that process that I saw two (2) fierce looking men moving towards our direction, and before I could know what was going on, one of them took the bottle filled with beer and hit my head, while the other one rushed me.

“The gush of the blood oozed around my face as I struggled to get up and run for my life. As fate would have it, it was like they heard a sound of siren coming towards our area and I could feel their hands off me.

“And then, there was an usual strength that engulfed me and I started running, even though I didn’t know the direction I was running towards.

“I was running without my sandals, without my phones and car keys. I didn’t even know what would become of my party chairman and those other 2 innocent guys.

“On a lonely road, I saw a motorcycle rider who took me to the police station where I narrated my ordeal. I was later taken to the hospital by the police.

“Thereafter, the police took me to the residence of Hon. Idoko and when he refused to open the gate, the police threatened to declare war on him; when he eventually opened the gate, he said my car was with a Personal Assistant to the deputy Speaker. How could someone who was not at the scene of the incident be in possession of my car? Hon. Idoko could not answer the questions from the police,” he narrated.
When asked if he knew that the council Chairman was attacked when he came to see him in Makurdi, the deputy Speaker said he was busy and could not talk further on the matter.

Romance6 Characteristics For A Potential Wife. by Fmartin(op): 8:19pm On May 06, 2016
A man should seek a woman who…

1.Fears God and whose hope is in the Lord God.

Her life is going to be a reflection of where her hope is. If a young lady's hope is in any place other than the Lord, the young who marries her is going to spend the rest of his life trying to help his wife catch a butterfly. It isn't going to happen.

2.Honors her parents.

There is so much baggage today being brought into marriages based upon dysfunctional relationships with Mom and Dad. And even though this impacts both the husband and the wife, it's been my experience that women tend to be impacted more negatively by this than young men. Women tend to be more nurturing and they are impacted deeply by hurting relationships. If she has a hard time honoring her parents, she will have a hard time honoring you. Find someone who has or is working to have a healthy relationship with her parents.

3.Knows how to ask for
forgiveness, admit she's wrong, grant forgiveness, and give grace when you fail her.

This isn't just a one-way street. Both of you are going to need to do that.

4.Wants to be a wife and a mother.

There are some young ladies who want to be married, but don't really want to be a wife and a mother. They want to be married, but they want their career to be their number-one pursuit. I believe the scriptures teach that a wife's number-one pursuit should be ministering to her husband and family. That means if you choose to have children, your priorities and values have already been determined.

5.Displays character in her modest dress.

A young man's character is displayed in his choices around life—around the use of money and relationships. But a woman's character is displayed in how she handles the power of her femininity and sexuality. In other words—how modest is she? That's becoming a weird word in our culture, but I would challenge young men to keep their eyes out for young women whose character is displayed in not only on the inside, but the outside as well.

6.Knows how to follow a man.

That doesn't mean perfection, but it does mean that she understands that she's the vice president, not the president. Women are joint heirs of the grace of God, but someone has to make the final decision when you both disagree. When one person votes one way, and the other person votes another, I believe it's the responsibility of the husband to listen carefully and wisely consider the counsel of his wife. It's upon him and to the Lordship of Jesus Christ as being led in the power of the Holy Spirit to make that decision, and then it's upon the wife to be able to follow under the same influence. That's not an easy thing in this culture.

Romance6 Characteristics For A Potential Husband. by Fmartin(op): 8:10pm On May 06, 2016
I am often asked, "What should a single person look for in a potential spouse?" Singles want to know...and parents want to know so they can pass the information on to the children.

So I finally came up with the following list:

A woman should seek a man who;

1.Fears God.Some of the ways you can tell if a young man fears God is by his language and how he treats other people. Does he treat them with respect? If not, why not? We as human beings are made in the image of God, and respecting people ultimately shows a heart that reverences the One whom we reflect.

2.Is not afraid to love.

That may sound like a no-brainer, but a lot of young men today are afraid of commitment, and the young lady ends up chasing the young man. What we need today are more young men who are not afraid of being real, authentic, and committed to a young lady in a relationship. We need men who are not afraid to love.

3.Can admit his faults, his

mistakes, and when he's hurt you.Ruth Bell Graham made the statement, "A good marriage is the union of two forgivers." The reason is because you're going to hurt one another over and over again during your lifetime together. If you don't know how to ask for forgiveness and give forgiveness, you're never going to have a great marriage. The growth of your marriage will be stunted early on.

4.Can control his passions.

We live in an age that has been invaded by pornography. The world sends a message that you can have it all and can satisfy yourself. I would want my daughters to date a young man who is fully in charge of his passion and can control his desire for the opposite sex.

5.Honors his parents.

In the Ten Commandments, God tells us to honor our parents that our lives may be long and it may be well with us. Wouldn't you want to select a man whose life has a sense of well being in God's favor? I have heard it said that if you want to see how a young man will treat you, see how he treats his mother. I'd take that a step further—how does he honor both his mother and his father? Does he speak well of them or is he angry with them? Does he refuse to speak about them at all? What's going on between a young man and his parents is very important.

6.Is in the process of becoming a leader who knows how to serve.

Being the head of a home and having so much authority and responsibility demands a servant spirit and self-denial. If a young man doesn't know how to deny himself on behalf of another person, giving up his personal rights, goals, and dreams, I would question whether he would know how to create a family over a lifetime.

PoliticsUkraine To Invest 1bn Into Ajaokuta Steel Company. by Fmartin(op): 10:20am On May 06, 2016
The Ukrainian Ambassador to Nigeria Mr Valeriy Aleksandruk has said that his country is ready to invest one billion dollars into Ajaokuta Steel Company in order to revive the plant.

This is according to a statement by Mr Alex Okoh, Head, Public Communications, Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) in Abuja on Thursday.

It said that the ambassador made the disclosure when he paid a courtesy call on the Acting Director General of the BPE, Mr Vincent Akpotaire.

It also stated that Aleksandruk said that the Ukrainian company that built the plant -Tiajpromexport (TPE) – had presented a proposal to the Federal Government to that effect.
He said that the steel company has a lot of potentials which his country wanted to take advantage of and that already, meetings were on with relevant stakeholders in Nigeria for the realisation of the planned takeover of the plant.

Aleksandruk emphasised that Nigeria has a very good relationship with Ukraine especially in areas of trade and investments adding that there was a big Nigerian community in his country.

He, however, added that Ukraine was ready to “open a new page in its relationship with Nigeria” and pledged to assist the Bureau in its training needs to become a foremost privatisation agency in Africa.

The statement said that Akpotaire in his response, said that the Bureau would review the proposal by the Ukrainian government.
He said it would also review that of Morgan Stanley, the multinational financial services firm that would provide the one billion dollar investment before taking any further steps.

He added that the Federal Government was desirous to get the Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited and the Nigerian Iron Ore Mill Company (NIOMCO) Itakpe running.

Akpotaire urged the Ukrainian Government to invest in other sectors of the Nigerian economy, especially in developing the downstream of the steel sector that would service several sectors including the automobile sector. (NAN)

PoliticsKogi: Reps Move To Make Running Mate Replace Dead Governorship Candidate. by Fmartin(op): 10:08am On May 06, 2016
A Bill for an Act to make provisions to cover a lacuna in the event of death of a governorship candidate anytime before conclusion of an election yesterday passed Second Reading in the House of Representatives.

The bill also seeks to amend the 2010 Electoral Act to empower election tribunals and courts to declare candidates who scored the second highest votes as winners of elections when the tribunal or court finds the winner of an election unqualified for election, abinitio.

Sponsor of the Bill and House Majority Leader, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila of the All Progressives Congress, APC, described it as a proactive measure to prevent a recurrence of the 2015 Kogi governorship election debacle.

It would be recalled that the APC candidate, the late Abubakar Audu was already coasting home to victory in the November 2015 election before his death was announced. His running mate, James Faleke, who sought to step into Audu’s position as standard bearer was denied the opportunity by the party leadership, who settled for the runner up in the APC primary, Yahaya Bello. Faleke is a member of the House of Representatives.

The bill, sponsored by Gbajabiamila and six others equally seeks inclusion of the Card Reader as part of the Electoral Act as well as ensure that all political parties are gender sensitive and eliminate all forms discrimination in political parties.

RomanceLADIES: 6 Kinds Of People You Should Never Talk To About Your Relationship. by Fmartin(op): 5:19pm On May 05, 2016
1. The friend who judges

Sometimes full disclosure about our relationships is embarrassing.

We all have that friend, who we fear sharing all the details with, for fear of her judgment. So instead of telling her how bad things really are, you share only half the story and take her half advice. You take it because you want to believe your relationship doesn’t have all the flaws it really does. You want to live in la la land with this friend who doesn’t know your man is verbally abusive, controlling, unfaithful…whatever it may be.

2. Your friend who settled… for less than she should have.

I assume whoever is reading this is a strong-minded woman who is out there testing the waters, and wouldn’t just settle down with someone for the sake of settling down. But, you have friends who have settled. You have a friend who has been dating the same guy since secondary school. She doesn’t know a thing about dating. She honestly doesn’t expect all that much from her relationship because she never saw what else was out there—and that it could get better.

Don’t talk to her. She is just going to tell you that “every relationship has its problems” as she folds the underwear of her boyfriend who hasn’t taken her on an actual date in years and who she quit her job to move cross country for.

3. Your ex

Come on. Do I even have to say this one? Unless it’s an ex from a LONG time ago—one who you are strictly platonic with and actually vomit at the thought of sleeping with—then the only reason you’re talking to this guy right now is to have your ego stroked. You want someone who you’re attracted to to tell you that you deserve so much better than this. But you’re not getting any honest, unbiased advice out of him. Stop wasting your time, find other ways to boost your confidence, and talk to someone who doesn’t have selfish intentions.

4. Your flattering friend

Sadly some people care more what their friends think about them, than the wellbeing of their friends. If you have a friend who always tells you what you want to hear…that’s probably not just a coincidence. She doesn’t just happen to always be on the same wavelength as you. In fact, she has probably many, many times thought you were making a huge mistake, but told you to “go for it!” Because she knew it was what you wanted to hear. Don’t talk to her about this.

5. Your bitter, single friend

She’s just going to pop in some “we hate men” movie and interject “what an a**hole” between all of your sentences as you tell her what’s up in your relationship. And let me tell you something; she watches those movies every night, and she wouldn’t mind one bit having another single, man-hating friend every night with her.

6. Your gold digging friend

This friend can care less about any problems in a relationship except financial ones. This is not exactly the woman who you are going to learn from about what it takes to have an emotionally healthy relationship

FYI, Tompolo or any other ex militant isn't behind the pipeline bombings.

The gas pipelines were bombed during GEJ by tinubu's men in the delta.

The Ijaws have always claimed supremacy over the itsekiris in warri.

With Tompolo overshadowing Ayari, tinubu has built a bridge between the itsekiris and he orchestrated the bombings as a false flag and then blame it on Tompolo.

Tinubu is behind the power outages .

Fact! As he is using it to both position his puppet as supreme in the region with the absence of Tompolo and also to get the pipeline contract reawarded to his boys. Tinubu is also using the pipeline sabotage to humilate fashola who he wants replaced with his own candidate in Buhari's cabinet.

The man is evil, selfish and myopic.
